New Willow Store - Emir’s Amber Royal Wood

Pretty simple story behind this. My incense burner was malfunctioning so I replaced it. With the replacement came this stuff. I’m not sure what to make of the clear resin.

It has a fruity scent, woody - even on low temp. It’s subtle yet pungent, green and sweet.

just burned a little bit of Suko Oud-Pattimura 2.0 from 2021. I wish they were still making incense and their prices were very good and not like how Rising Phoenix Perfumery would buy their incense and pass it off as one of his creations and charge 3 or 4 times the price of Suko Oud. Very nice incense and I burn small amounts of it to savor what I have left.

White kynam powder from wu shuang ge.

Unbelievable, perfume aroma can’t even really describe or put it towards but even at the lowest setting on my heater the aroma is just wow.

Ill be happy to admit that the japanese sticks i got from Kyarashrine actually kinda do smell like kyara or at least as close as an incense stick can. Not like kyara sticks that just smell like burning wood but more so this perfumey kind of kyara profile.

Unfortunately, yeah they are definitely not all natural and they are really quite strong and potent, but in a large enough space not quite as bad.

I have some these sticks and they’re quite good

I am burning Shoyeido's Misho - Gentle Smile, part of their Premium line. I got it for $30-ish on Amazon, far better than the $84 on their US website!

This incense makes me smile, just as the name promises. The wood in it doesn't dominate the blend, unlike as you go up the ladder, and its base is similar to green curry. I love this incense. It's balanced, and no one note dominates or shines. All act together to create a fragrance that is something unique.

just burned some Shoyeido-Nan Kun and amazed how much more I like it today when it's almost a 100 degree day here in L.A. I noticed the same thing with Kyukyodo-Sho Bai Koh. I think fenugreek agrees with me more in the summer. I have always found Sho Bai Koh to be a better summer scent but didn't realize how good Nan Kun is when it's hot. It paired well with some Kabusecha green tea at room temperature.

Kathok Monastery: Kathok King of Incense

Another addition for me from the Kathok Monastery!
Pleasantly spicy and warm. Clove, cinnamon, and saffron in the foreground, with a subtle sandal base and gentle "muskiness" supporting.

From Incense Traditions:
"From subtle hints when first lit, the aroma of Kathok King of Incense becomes richer and more woody as it burns. This is a refined and complex scent with medium pungency. Ingredients come from the flora surrounding the Monastery. Main ingredients include black and white sandalwoods, saffron, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg, as well as high-altitude therapeutic plants. Thirty-two separate processes go into the making, the recipe handed down through numerous masters.

Long shift at work, cycled through this and feeling rejuvenated!

Nice, the other night some green-oil kyara lulled me to sleep. I am well alware of what scents can do to a body and mind.

Nice! The other night, some green-oil kayara lulled me to sleep after a restless few hours. I'm perfectly aware of the power scent has on our minds and bodies.

GuanHe 3.0 - Wu Shuang Ge

Vintage sinking Hainan & Phuoc Son “Red Soil”

Beautiful red profile, less of the mineral Fusen profile and more slightly zesty red sweetness. I like it a lot. Different than the prof incense Fusen red soil.

Note: still no reply regarding my canceled kikoh order (my money is still not refunded)
🙁 has anyone placed an order with them? Any contact information to reach out to other than the email?
how are you liking your wares from WSG? what else did you order?

Baigu Monastery : Baigu Temple Medicine Buddha Incense

I initially got this because I read this incense listed lavender as a prominent note, and that was the first time I'd ever seen that. Primary ingredients listed are Lavender, Wormwood, and Sandalwood, but there's more going on here than that. High quality Tibetan sticks are often great olfactory puzzles, and if you're curious about medicinal, and complex incenses, I'd suggest exploring some. I'm happy with this and it's a really interesting addition to the other 45+ incenses I've purchased from Incense Traditions. For those that are new to the game and are curious, head on over to olfactoryrescueservice.com and check out Mike's thoughtful reviews on a mountain of Tibetans and much more.
