Wow! Beautiful. Dearest Shabby, after reading thousands of books, I came to the point NOT BOOKS, BUT MASTER is what matters. Worse prison is books, and I sentenced my own self twenty years to stay imprisoned. Now I have liberated myself.
Say my salaam to your grandfather.

@Ouddict, you are right. Perennialism, Traditionalism and Fundamental Unity of Regions: though differences of opinions are there, Shaekh Martin Lings' loves for the Transcendent emanates from him.

@firdaous, very true. His face is so divine. Intellect and innocence, and a delicate smile.

Dear brother @Rai Munir, you may be interested to know Martin Lings stayed in my grandfather's house in Sri Lanka. My grandfather read and loved all those books, but my grandmother, who is from a village, has no interest in such books and never read them. Yet when I ask her about Martin Lings, her face changes completely and she says 'his face was like the moon, I have never seen such a peaceful man.'

I have a small amount of Khus which he himself used to use. The notes are incredible - sweet fresh earthy green, a touch of camphor and mint, and waves of fennel and aniseed.
SubanaAllah , Martin Lings RA stayed at your grandfathers House also in Sri Lanka, MashaAllah , your grandfather is a lucky man to have a companion of Paradise , friends for life bros , in this world and the next , and Sri Lanka is Super Mystical also cause Adam PBH landed there , and some certain plants and animals are only located there only , and it's the biggest natural harbor on this planet , and the Green one AKA Al Khider has a connection with Sri Lanka , Amazing place it is

@Nikhil S this is your best post on both forums to date !!! Honest and clearly understood.
I had the same reaction when I read a post from @IM_AU a few weeks/months ago!
Thanks man. I am not protesting. I am merely pondering as a lover of Oud and a dedicated buyer. The reason I am here and not buying Oud in Colaba is because I consider these guys superior in everyway. I am sure all you guys who have spent thousands of dollars on their Oud DO NOT wish to be taken on a ride. No vendor is above the art of Oud. I wanted a guru-disciple relation with these guys. But sadly my state has been reduced to a mere customer's that too a gullible one. Agenda on both sides is very clear. He qouted this he qouted that. This forum that forum. Stop confusing us. Give us what we want. We all know its easier to blabber Oud from a developed nation sitting on your imacs while the real distillers fight the dengue causing parasites in the harsh jungle conditions. 550, 750, 1000, 2500......It really seems like real estate investment and not Oud. Afterall none of these oils will come im Baccarat Crystal bottles. No distractions or gyaan. Give us Oud. Our time is precious too holy Oud Gurus. If you want to fight it out build an Oud Arena and punch each other. We also have jobs and families to feed.

Sorry if this is said already and I have missed it. My own question is not about the resin but the oil trapped in the resin. Does the master have a say in the quality and scent of this oil trapped inside the resin vs. The oil free in the wood? Does he believe this oil trapped is different smelling?

I think the reason(s) these genre of oils are so different is a combo of techniques and not just the scent of the oil that got u trapped from the resin. I am trying to determine if it is mostly technique or is ir really the oil in the resin that is of such vastly different style.

At the end even if I don't Find the answer is fine. The product is definitely unique and enjoyable and sometime the mood calls for it. I would just enjoy the oils that much more knowing about the "how" behind them. Not a great example (sorry. Brain dead. Terrible twos. Hyper active boy. Enough said) but: Much like If I had been given two virtually identical shirts and told one is made by hand only and hand of well lived well paid 5th generation tailor vs machine made. Even though rh quality is the same I will enjoy the artisanal made one more. Significantly more.

Brother @Rasoul Salehi I'm really sorry but I will not bother teacher again.

Some people said they can transform resin in oil, all people seemed excited to wait for answer : can resin be distilled ? Does that made the smell better ?

Answer were given and people stay cold like if they never asked.

I take conclusions to this act of bravoury from forum users (including usees who knew it and prefer shut) and I move foward I dont want to be seen as an unbalanced.

You know brother forums exist since long time and if you go deep in old post, you will see people who already gave alert on false advertising, hidden forum ownership ect ect ... but as people prefered to shut for a reason I still ignore, everyone who tried ended tired.

So I hope you will understand ...

If the confidence and muscle flexing was reflected in their oils, none of this Oud groupism would have happened. Theory is another thing. Philosophy and Spiritual imclination is a good thing. But how does it affect the oil is the concern of every hard earning man here. Half the of the vendors oils smell the same bought from same taiwan whatever distillers. There s clearly lobbying going on both forums. Children of Adam are on both forums. Master vendors reselling oils on both forums is also universal truth. Sorry to say but to my unbiased mind it is really ridiculous and your conscience even allows to make claims is truly outstanding. Apart from a few distillers NO one even has their signature to oils. Peace. If I was a traditional distiller I wouldnt even bother about what the others are doing. I would make my oils speak. Truth is no matter how much theory you have in you you guys are never sure how the oil turns out to be ! If someone really wants us to learn show us the process of distillation with every Kyara Kinam you guys release. So that we learn and a state of equilibrium is reached. Otherwise its simply blind trust. And it means nothing where true mettle is concerned. And lets not even talk about the pricing of thw top vendors. Its horrendous. The "distraction technique" is also quite evident. Talk about Oleoresin, Chinese woods, temp curves....its fancy and even local SE distillers seem to be masters of that. The talk on "Oleoresin" could have been finished in a single post but we have porbably more than 100 messages and of course with direct/indirect legpulling of certain Vendor/s only to be joined by members who turned non-believers after burning their hands in the "Oud Investment process". Truth is we as a community are tired of seeing these meaningless fighta and kitty party quarrels. Why dont you give us a reason to cheera for once ? Give us one of those Kinam or Sultanis whatever in 2017 at affordable prices by tweaking your megamachines ! Thats what we want. We dont want Oud talk. We want Oud or if possible Oudh.

I could not have said this better myself.

Why is it that CLEAR PROOF is provided that resin cannot be transformed into oil as claimed by some and people still dispute???

Because nobody ask for answers...

They even get the answer that resin without oil has almost not smell ...

I saw wives accepting husbands cheat on them since they still tell them they love them ...

Can anyone who knows directly answer the points that this distiller has made? Let’s keep this discussion technical. I’m aware that a huge effort has been made by some to raise a fog and obscure the valid points made.

Please keep the discussion technical so we can all learn something worthwhile, otherwise I’ll personally remove irrelevant posts.

Then I think you can remove all since logic doesnt work, we are not in a technical debate since people did'nt accepted that.

But when it comes to nuances in words or assumptions it seems to work far better, people applause so why keeping this thread ?

IO bottles are very nice indeed:thumbsup:

Okay.... I have some oud chips that have very hard and brittle resin. Like glass. Not very aromatic either.
Then.... I have other oud chips with noticeably medium to semi-hard resin, not brittle, and they are more aromatic.
:Thumbsdown: Could it be that the hard brittle resin is the result of the chip being very old, and that the oil in the resin has dried-out? Then would oudh oil distilled from these chips be mediocre even if they were sinking grade? If this is the case, then an ideal oudh oil would be from highly resinated chips that are not that old, with juicy resin🙂
I recently received some very heavily resinated Malaysian chips from a recently felled large tree. I was so excited to try it😀, but the aroma was very weak😱. It must have been a sub-species. So another conclusion I have is that:Geek: excellent oil must come from wood with an excellent aroma.

Well said, only some logic explanation come from a few posts by alshareefoud and your Q&A with the distiller. Ensar on the other forum basically is saying loud and clear "with my special technics I can pretty much turn anything to oud" as a commander and chief on gaharu is praised by everyone. Kudos to Alhadra for questioning him. Few fanboys with their long philosophical post that are coming down to: "you all know nothing have you try this, this and that oils?" Don Perly as usual comes with his nonsense post, I don't know maybe is my English that I do not get him ever, his posts are usually praised very high by all gaharu members and specially after he was banned from ouddict. The only interesting think I learned from the last few days was about Martin Lings, never heard before that name but I found out that he was very interesting person actually I start reading one of his books about Shakespeare I found in a Bulgarian online library.

No feta with the guru for you today eh ?

Af course i did have feta i have every morning but Fridays Bulgarian feta cheese. I was having feta with Assam tea and a few swipes Assam oud under my chin asi was writing the response to your post.
Even eating feta everyday so far good that my cholesterol is still under 200........🙂

What a program !

What I love to do is to put some into pastry leaf, I add some sliced onions, aneth and lemon juice.

I roll it like a cigar and fry it.

I serve it with a good salad and lemon juice on hot summer day.

Hand made tomatoe sauce, olive oil aubergins, Fish BBQ.

And followed with a super nap.

Luxury at it's top for a mediteranean boy 😎.

🙁 What else can express the state of mind better than this emoji! Nothing.

Oleoresin. Auxiliary/ Accessory notes. Oleorisin & Oil. Price & Pricing. Well, all are to be discussed, and they have been discussed. Majority came up with solid arguments. But 'All's well that ends well'. And 'end' is yet awaited.

One thing for sure: when two clashing viewpoints emerge about a single reality; one is definitely faulty. Both cannot be correct. If frame of reference is to be included, then both are 'half truths' that is rather damaging than an incorrect view-point. It doesn't mean whose view is wrong is to be punished. One's endeavour to see the truth and say true is to be valued. So do I respect all participants. In Islamic Jurisprudence, if two 'faqeeh= jurits' have two opposite views, both are respected and honoured, but one whose decree is logical is to be followed. I simply apply this universally acknowledged parameter of Islamic Jurisprudence whenever I face some perplexing opposite views about Oud here. All are respected, but one is to be followed. Moreover, a folk lore I was narrated that goes so at the end: If some one has positive views about all is either a skin saver or is having poor judgement.

Oleoresin and Auxiliary notes have been defined in a best possible way by respected Jawed. Had respected Shabby expressed diametrically opposite viewpoint than that of Jawed? I don't think so. What I get from the posts is no more than the difference in the definition of the terms under discussion.

Resin & Oud: It is yet a riddle. @F4R1d0uX: My dear and respected most brother, you posted some snap-shots to prove that it is impossible. I do agree with you. But if I would like not to agree, it will be rather appropriate. Reason? I don't know who that master is, if he is. Why master under cover? Suppose, I am in favour of Mr. Ensar's statement, I would have left those snap-shots unread as 'invisible masters' in reality don't inspire. PLEASE NEVER MIND. I KNOW YOU HAVE AN AMPLE HEART. I JUST PIN POINTED WHAT I FELT. Your sincerity, purity and gentility and JOVIALITY is ideal. But here, the point under discussion was too too sensitive. So I didn't find myself making views on some unknown and unseen masters. Please never mind.

Distillation & Price & Pricing: I have been saying since the first day of my joining this Home-like Forum, OUD IS A LUXURY, NOT A NECESSITY. So price cannot be questioned. BUT THERE IS A VERY IMPORTANT THING: trying to befool buyers and using tactics to emotionally black-mail and creating UNNECESSARY HYPE is to be questioned. I am against high prices, but I know it is I who am responsible for all this. I remember a couple of years before, The Saudi government initiated a boycott-campaign against the vendors selling tomatoes at an abnormal price. Within a week, those big guns turned to be dwarfs. Anyway, it is a digression. My point is why that much hype.

So far as distillation goes, it is obvious. We are no chickens at all. I am sure, there are such vendors who don't claim they do so. Don't they deserve doff off. Yes, they do. I know there are vendors who are partially distillers. And I am sure there are certain vendors who really distill on their own. And there are definitely such vendors who don't distill, but they say so. BUT FOR ME THE MOST INTERESTING SPECIES IS THOSE WHO CAN'T DISTILL, BUT THEY CLAIM SO. And last, there are who really distill on their own, and they say so. AND THERE ARE WHO REALLY DISTILL BUT THEY MUST STOP DISTILLING, FOR GOD'S SAKE:Roflmao::Roflmao::Roflmao:!

@Nikhil S: I am a great admirer of your flare. Just pay heed to my view, I beseech, about price. Who are responsible? Marketing: Godamm it. You know, now I feel Oud is being sold like a 'lather cream' that is actually for men, but in advertisement, that is launched by Kim Kardasian. And Me poor, even with beard, run for that. Poor me. Again, how many of us are here to be daring enough to decide on solid grounds. I don't blame vendors, I blame my own poor coward and skin-saving self.

Zak brother's oils, IO's Oils (brothers Faheem and Faizal),: These two are more than visible. Again digression: I suggested brother Faheem to raise prices of his offerings, and he, as usual, with an innocent smile just said: IT IS ENOUGH.:Cry::Cry:! I am sure, brother Zakir is not earning that much. Though Faheem's is😛😛😛! I must quote a saying that is much popular in our village: The man murdered is equally responsible for his murder, as why he came within the range of the murderer. Dear Nikhil, if we are murdered, we are responsible. Last, I have been reading about BAIT SAMPLING. (It doesn't include Tokens of Love). If sampling for wangling reviews is being made, who are responsible. Definitely, I am. I mean the wearers. I don't know who gets samples, but when it is highlighted, it shows YES IT EXISTS. Oud Terrorism is getting hold day by day. It is to be shunned.

To conclude, my respected most @Ouddict posted a picture of some Oud, and a statement of that very vendor about barn note. Of course, that shows there is some problem. That can be a mistake, or an error, or a trickery, or a try to create difference, etc. God knows better. But that picture and that statement show some sort of gap. Oils speak. What about this picture and statement? They do speak as well. There is a fault line somewhere, and that somewhere is not hidden. But it doesn't mean that that very vendor's oils are not good. His oils are beyond and beyond, more than excellent. But I have stopped buying because I have found 'a fault line' there. Yet I love his oils. And I appreciate his unique efforts. My not buying won't damage any vendor. I am sure. But I am not a skin saver. Whatever is to be decided, that needs hell dynamic flare.

The only thing that is highly interesting is when vendors and certain experts (not kidding, nor sarcasm) share views, even getting bitter, certain persons come up with such roles that is played by 'EXTRAS' in Bollywood movies. In Urdu there is a proverb: 'Tou koun, maen khaah-makhaah- Who are you , Mr,? Oh, I'm, hmm, umm, Intruder'. Again, not vendors, but wearers are responsible.

Peace and Love to all. This is the beauty of this Forum that dear Nikhil and I can post any thing, bitter or sweet. Who dare to do so on the other Forum😉😉😉? We would have been History.

PS: By the way I learn this expression from the other Forum: Someone is History. And by the way, history repeats, and history avenges.

May God bless us all.

No problem brother @Rai Munir you are the most welcome.

As english is not my mother language I can only be direct wich gives me a "harsh" character.

Now uh... I grew up in a social condition that made that kind of man who will prefer protect a source than being right...

I know far much more sensitive subjects.

Last ones from Sri Lanka ... If I start give names, theses people can be severely affected because trade of agarwood in Sri Lanka is illegal for example.

As a seller, I win my money because people like them exists and wood is in their countries so credit goes to them.

Me ? It doesnt matter that much I dont have big needs and I win my money enough.

As for people, they are free to believe or not. Sometimes you accept lies since oil is good. For this ? I can do nothing and it's not my duty to do ...

As for Im slowly begining a seller ? My only duty is trying to do better and cheaper then I would be able to say my distiller is Merlin the wizard buy 3 tolas ...
