White one is very very soft so after my trials i noticed some green one(not with a dominant ratio) is boosting
So i will make a codistillation inshaAllah.
Last time i distilled fully from sinking chips, this time will use some non sinking too,for keeping price affordable than sinking grade, because Alhamdulillah got very nice feedbacks about first one(you also have Huaisheng)
So decided to make a second batch of cultivated kinam

These arrived from ward lab today. Very reasonable price and a robust and interesting aroma, presenting a variety of ck / sinensis notes. It does not smell old and dignified, but it is fresh and young and not soaked so time has yet to do its thing. Very thick slow pouring oil, and such a decent price that I was sure it was a carbon dioxide extract based on the sample. I’m realizing the obvious: I have a lot to learn about sinensis and cultivated kinam. Well, as you can see on the bottles, this is actually a distillate!

My plan is to tuck some away for further study, but use the bulk of this to make oud based mukhs/attars, or as a fixative in non-oud blends. I can think of so many things this would smell good with.

Would you mind posting a link to Ward Lab please? I'd be keen on getting some of this myself.

if "desert tan" was a smell, this would be it. its like khaki leather. super clean from Mauna as usual!

i like how potent this one is while remaining very smooth.

i might have to make a pickup on that batch man.

Oh! Ok..does he sell exclusively on the forum? I found that before but thought there must be another website somewhere.
My transactions with Ward Lab have all emerged through conversations - I am under the impression that reaching out via DM is the best route.

I hope it goes well.

Burning the same sticks. Tonight with a swipe of JK's Takengon Aceh. Fascinating mix. This is an earthy and incense heavy oud to my nose, but while burning it's transformed into a tingly sweet petrichor doused in menthol. I'm sure my nose is just confused, but this is fun to me.

maybe one day i will get a bottle of this. its thick, super fruity, sweet and powerful. the longer you wear it the lemonier it gets. reminds me of CK wood
Can you compare it to some of the forum classic Cambodis from Habz: like Harba, Qazah, Muhib, Altaws or Pursat Maliki...?

An Najwa assam imperial is my oud of the moment here…

Sniffing from the bottle, I get a clean woody herbal sassafras aroma without any signs of ferment. On the skin, the oil is pretty dignified and restrained, and while the hindi profile is evident it still has a soft, appealing scent… approachable to the same degree that CK oils are. I have a lot of competing fragrances near me, incense burning, and oils on me at the moment so I will have to revisit this to really talk about its subtle elements. It is very interesting to me how comfortably it sat amongst the other fragrances I have on, and the kind of sweet, appealing, almost minty note that it adds.

Khlong Yai from An Najwa. For me it Opens up with a fizzy grapefruit with a lovely slight animalic background there is a slight floral softness coming through gives me a nice calming feeling. As it develops the lovely resinous animalic note gets stronger along side a berry and gentle woody note. Very enjoyable!

Al Hashimi - Khao Koh (Thailand/Koh Kong) - Keeping with the Thaqeel aesthetic, this offers a more refreshing profile than Prachin Koh. I've been wearing this a lot the last several days, and while it develops a bit quicker than several other aged ouds I've tired, it's still not simple to describe.

Off the cap you'll get something iconically Thai, sour and syrupy but not overdoing either. Medicinal is one way to describe this one, though I chose refreshing. While many Thai ouds have either a harsh sourness (or fermentedness) to them (usually younger and not great distillations) which you have to endure for a couple of minutes or an airy sweet fruitiness to them, neither is present here. Khao Koh sits heavier while allowing some of the fruitiness to come through, sprinkled with incense. As it sits on your skin, it unmistakably evokes the texture of velvet. While the fruits seem to be dyed blue, recalling a sense of something oceanic, not anything which reminds me of berries though. On some wearings I'd get a leathery note in the later stages. The fruitiness does seems tapper off the longer it's on your skin, though never completely vanishing.

Addictively enjoyable, never flat or boring, and while it's not simply just an organic Thai, the fact a portion is, leaves me really excited for what else Al Hashimi has up their sleeves. With the sort of enjoyment these oils have rekindled in me, I can't help but assume, if there's an end game for organic Thais, Al Hashimi surely has it!
