Kinam Hind by Al Hind Oud. This is weird, the oil's separated into 2 very disctint parts in the bottle. This is a codistillation so I thought both bits would be intermingled and not separate like this,
I dipped a toothpick in fairly deep so that I'd get both parts on the oil on stick for when I swipe - I'm not sure if these are actually 2 separate oils now. Smells great, can't pick up much in the way of 'notes' though to be honest - just a complete bit. Shall be going for a stroll in 2hrs so will see if it perks up a bit.

Maroky Incenza by Feel Oud - a co-distill of jasmine/frankincense & Maroke oud. Interesting oil, the 2 florals swallow up the Maroke's black/earthy vibe and bring a much fresher and brighter vibe to the whole affair. The frankincense stands out a lot more - the jasmine, not so much.

😧. I just immediately ran to my bottle to see what’s going on. It doesn’t have any layers whatsoever. Let me share the picture here, took a video as well. That was my first ever co-distillation attempt with CK. I don’t know who else owns this oil but I’d be interested in seeing the oil development for different people.

I'm just an idiot and it was darkened from the label on the opposite side 😂
I tipped the bottle sideways and upside down a few times thinking it may 'mix' them but then realised my problem haha

Wearing a fresh off the still oil from An Najwa.

It is an incense grade assam.

I starts off a bit sweet and fruity. Right after it gives off leather, hay and antique wood vibes. Powder. Very light smokiness. Clean. Whiskey. Mild Peaty Whiskey. I love it.
Smells fresh. No barn at all. I assume it was a minimal soak. Notes are fleeting, probably because the oil is new.
It was pulled a day before it was shipped to me. This is the first time I tried an oil so fresh. It would be interesting to see how this one ages.

Been getting some feedback on oud lately - had the same girl who said I "smell like paint" comment on yesterday's wears of Al Hind's Hindi Kinam & Feel Oud's Maroke Incenza - she preferred the Hindi!

Today I have 2 ouds from Mellifluence - Wild Pailin & Wild Vietnam oud. Both are very good however the Viet has unfortunately oxidized and becoe very thick, making it difficult to apply. I may have also accidentally swiped the Viet over the Pailin in an attempt to apply more 😅

Yusa Aromatics - Koh Kong Ko

I wore this one yesterday. What a beautiful Koh Kong! Gave me some nostalgic feelings to when I tried Koh Kong Imperiale the 1st time early in my journey (And I am still early in my journey). Sweet delicious opening that has red nuances but is leaning more to the green color spectrum. Has a more a woodsy or jungle vibe. In the heart notes I got some woody incensy aspects and I thought this is where the oil will stop. Patience Patience! The oil dries down to this beautiful sweet fruity Koh Kong profile and in this stage its very reminiscent to Koh Kong Imperiale from my memory. I just love KohKongs

Jinkoh Store - Grand Emperor Hue

GE Hue could be the vietnamese twin of Emperor Kedah. Opens with delicious purple honey supported with the slightly bitter high quality vietnamese backbone.
You sniff once and smell purple bliss!
You sniff again and smell kinamic bliss?!
The purple honey aspect tunes down while the bitter addictive vietnamese scent shines more and more during the drydown. Not your typical viet oil!

Myanmar kyara/men tien from Fushigi

This is interesting.

Has almost a hot chili spicy curry note to it.

Very brain freezing and i can taste the smell. Never experienced this in an oud before.

Genuinely makes my eyes water a little bit and affects my throat kinda like chili would do.

Like a spicy fennel chili curry on top of a green oil kyara. A tiny bit it quite strong and projects well.

Kanbi Koh - The Oud Lab.

Although this oil is produced from trees hailing from the Southern Thailand / Northern Malaysia region it smells like a clean, yet classic Cambodi Thaqeel with a Kinamic nudge. Before acquiring this oil, I was searching endlessly for this profile!

Red berries, flowers, fruit jam, caramel, soft musky leather, vanilla with a dense incensey purple Oud resin core. It wears like pure luxury on the skin, I only use a tiny dot & it last for 12+ hours on my wrists, wafting its Royal aroma all day.

A legendary oil. I’ve said this before, if I had to choose two Oud oils for the remainder of my life it would be this & Al Ruba’ie II by ASO.

Went with some Viet oils for the day

Mes Oud Viet King
Yusa Nha Trang Ko
EO Guallam Kilam

Viet King
has this strong red color to it, paired with this "mountain breeze" coolness. It's so unique at that stage. I don't vibe with its opening but once it gets to that Red Mountain Air part, it is not just amazing but also very unique.

Nha Trang Ko walks the line of Vietnan Special K and King K Nam, especially in the opening, with that honeyed sweetness, and the marzipan facet. It is more streamlined though and becomes more woody than the other two.

Guallam Kilam I only seem to love more with each wearing. It is my favorite Viet oil from EO. I still want to try Royal Guallam. But I prefer it to Nha Trang LTD. It is not as piercing of course, but much more satisfying. Complexity is through the roof, always changing, it's not sweet, more like bitter and powdery with this "vanilla dust" accord. Then it goes red and leafy, like dry tobacco leaves. Clean and even has some green kinamic nuances. How I wish this had been as abundant as the others in their catalog. It came and went like lightning. I will need to compare it to my no 1 Viet oil, Nha Trang Ultima. The two are my favorites on Vietnam.

Habzoud - Pursat Maliki
Revisiting after a longggg time, and I thought perhaps I would have fallen out of love because I have smelled a lot more oils since my last swipe. Nothing could be further from the truth! It's very different from Murasaki, though. Some smoke, oh so satisfying! I'm so happy this was my first oil because it was love at first swipe.

Yusa - Murasaki
It arrived in the mail yesterday, and I was very curious to smell those purple flowers. I'm very happy I got this one, and it vaguely reminds me of khmer klem chan every now and then?
I'm off enjoying this oil as it develops! 🙂

And sadly the bottom of the bottle began to appear.
İt will be too hard to find a Tarakan oil with this quality.
Probably after this bottle finished,i will distille

Perhaps that is what makes it so great that at some point something is no longer available.
What we have left, we cherish more and hopefully makes us grateful servants for the many favors that Allah gave mankind. I believe that is the most important thing.
From another perspective, it also opens the door to discover a new gem, that also makes it special and exciting for all of us oudh lovers.
And we never know, maybe you find the same quality or better inshaa-Allah.🙂
The treasures and bounties of Allah are without measure and infinite, and He gives to His servants whatever He pleases

Went Chinese for the day.

Jinkoh Store Emperor of China V1
Jinkoh Store Emperor Guan Yu
Oriscent Royal Kinam V1

Oils like these motivated me to start selling most of my perfumes so that I can get more high-end oils or more grams of the ones I keep in high esteem.

Interesting to study Guan Yu next to RK, both Hong Kong oils, one old stock, and one newer breed. Also to see different approaches to distilling the wood. EOC is EOC. Next to RK, they just battle at a different level compared to Guan Yu. And Guan Yu is an amazing oil, it just doesn't have the body the other two have. EOC 1 is everything I'd wish to smell in a Chinese oil. I get requests to sell even a small amount monthly. How can I even put a price on this? I swear, I could not. Pricing a perfume, even some oils might come easier. Especially perfumes. But how to put a price on oils like EOC, RK, Oud Sultani, Ahmad, and a few others? This stuff is priceless.

I have some of the Royal Kinam V1. Quite punchy last time I smelled it (probably a year ago... I need to dig that one out). I prepared a small bottle of a 2% dilution of this in ethanol to study alongside the pure oil. this particular oil in dilution is quite wonderful - I ended up carrying a little bottle of the diluted with me everywhere for a year or so there.

My oud of the day is a bottle of bio thai oil (as described by feel oud). Bio chan was the name i believe. This is one of those thai oils that I couldn't stomach due to the sour pungent insect-like opening but transformed into a classic delicious crassna dry down on skin, clothes, etc..

I mentioning it because the oil has lost that shrieking opening at long last. unless my nose deceives me this oil is evidence that the sour bug note can diminish/disappear if oils are allowed to age for a while.
