SULAYM - Thai Khiao.

This oil has changed a lot since I got it, like a lot, and it has changed for the better, 100%, more well rounded and soft, you can smell the Thai DNA more AND the Malay malaccensis incense notes more, it is also way more sweet now than before, it is more sweet than bitter now I would say, but the bitterness is still there, and there is even some sweet purple berries and then on the Thai DNA part there is some red candy-like sweet but mainly pleasant sour cherries, with the mintiness being less in your face camphoric and more of a nice breeze of herbal mint, still has the camphor but in a more subtle, more rounded way, with the jungle notes and greenery and all the other notes just playing in better harmony together, damn I didn't know an oil that got made in 2022, that I purchased way back at the start of summer or few months into the year could change this much, you can now really recognize the Malay, IT EVEN HAS COLA NOTES THAT WAS NOT THERE TO START WITH, and also the creamy Malay malaccensis ancient woody note... damn... it is gonna be hard to keep my hands off this but I have to for the next 3-4 months to see what happens to it after that. I have just over half of a 3gram bottle left (was using it quite a lot yesterday and today and also gave some fat swipes to my friend and used a fair bit of it in the second attar I am making over the next year, including 2025) or just about half-ish. Over 1.35g anyway.

SOROOR @mesOUD Just got my full bottle of this legendary attar. Swiped one on both hands and two in beard. Smell of Soroor does not leave me even for a second. Totoa bliss. I think I applied a lot of it. Warning: if you have soroor apply it respectfully.
Just a heads up , this is the oud of the day thread. There's a separate thread for attars , " Attar/Mukhallat of the Day "

Maroke Qadeem from @Habz786. This is the kind of maroke i crave. The flat muddy patchouli-like aspect in many marokes I can take or leave depending on context; when it is sitting on a sea of tangy well aged way dark resinous nectar like this one is, it becomes absolutely sublime

Anas @mesOUD - have read how this oils being loved by many here and rightly so, this oil deserves all the appreciation.
I will share a detailed thoughts here and on my instagram soon but one thing I want to say tonight, Mehmet has managed to sustain his signature core with every distillation he has come up with. This is not something that happens by chance, he is a craftsman who is blessed with the gift of art.

Anas has a personality; it is as if I am meeting a man in his 80s with a dense beard and a turban on his head, he is clam and peaceful and somehow, he has all the answers, sheer wisdom.

Yeah, I wasn't actually into this one. The first from Habzoud that isn't for me. I usually like these much darker ouds but there is a note in this that doesn't sit right for me. I've tried it a few times now coming to the same conclusion. I don't have a word for that note either but I recognised it from a blend that I put together ages ago from some other samples I had which included some civet oil and in my lack of experience at the time I had made the assumption it was the civet which I didn't like but now after smelling this I realise it's the oud itself I'm not into. This now makes me question the other Merauke's I have which I do like because I trust Habzoud's oils implicitly. Gave me a bit to think about that's for sure which is always a good thing.

Sabah 2020 by TOL @AbuTominaga (unreleased)
when I first tried this one I wasn't really impressed by it. what I got mainly were fresh top notes. on the second time. Wowza! the petroleum note in the top and the insane somehow incency woody drydown surprised me, very nice one indeed!
I'll be giving it another try, but I think I'm starting to fall in love with it.

The three Nha Trang oils and Tigerwood Terengganu. Fragrant Harbour is by far the best. The Nha Trang oils are all high quality with the Vintage one probably being my favorite and Qinan close behind.
wow. I ordered the exact same ones. Nha Trang 101, Qinan, Fragrant Harbor and Tigerwood terengganu.
Haven't shipped yet.
How do you describe the kinamic quality of nha trang oils? What do you feel when you inhale the nha trangs?

Which oils did you try from Yugen lineup? Heard a lot of good things about Kanbi koh and seriously thinking to get one. Is the current batch of Kanbi koh the same one that people on ouddict has reviewed?

I have tried the whole line up thanks to my generous dear brother @AbuTominaga.
He included many samples that I enjoyed so much. very knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk to.
regarding Kanbi Koh it is the same one that I and many friends reviewed before. if you like kinamic resinous sweet grape like oud go for it, it is a favorite of mine.
