Mellifluence- Trat Supreme.
Abdullah isn’t especially known for his Oud oils, but occasionally he has a good one pop up in his Etsy store. Cambodi Supreme is one of my very favourite Cambodian oils & even tho it was the most expensive Oud oil he offered, it still came as a true surprise how good it is!

Trat Supreme is a similar story, it’s one of my favourite Trat oils, though admittedly I only own four, but I have tested many.
Quality wise it’s comparable to Khlong Yai - An Najwa or Siam - ASO. It’s been sold out for years, but from memory the cost was much cheaper than both those oils.

The top note is slightly fermented, it works so well pushing forth more complexity, adding a touch of darkness to the playful aroma. Soon enough the profile turns into a fruit platter of delicious ripe apricots, peaches, berries, melon. Also a touch floral & green.
The dry down is honeyed, caramel, dry woody with a bit of incense, the fruits still quite forward until the final stage on the skin.

Oils like these aren’t complex, they don’t stir my soul or offer much of an experience but they smell great. If this is a plantation oil, the distiller has done a fine job, the profile is rounded & doesn’t have any off notes. It’s been aging since 2018 so I’m sure this factor is contributing to the enjoyment.
Super thick viscosity, I love applying these sticky aged Crassna oils.

Reminds me a while back I was looking at his Etsy page, and this must have been a couple days before, but at the time he announced he would be closing down his shop, and as of now, it seems there's an announcement showing just that.
That is sad news, brother. I just checked for myself & yes he has no items listed currently. I have noticed things had been quiet in his shop for the past year. In the past, he’d release attar after attar, it appeared Abdullah had a never ending well of inspiration he drew from!

Hopefully, it’s a temporary hiatus or better yet he has plans to operate from his own website. Although I wasn’t a regular customer, I appreciate his artistry, he is an original, forging his own style using materials most other perfumers are not & blending them in a very harmonious way.
I might shoot him a quick email & check in.

Brother Mehmet @mesOUD artistry, passion, and generosity knows no bounds. On Monday I got an message on Instragram “Hey Mick, a sample of Begum is on the way to you, here is your tracking” and today, twitter days later, the sample is already here

Of course on the say as I’m getting out of a cold, so m nose is not 100% there. But wow, this is so soothing and reminds me of my childhood

I’m half-Indonesian and I grew up in The Netherlands. As a child I often went to Indonesian “tokos”, small shops where you could buy all kinds of products from Indonesia (and other asian countries)

We sometimes bought “rose syrup”, which you could mix with water (or condensed milk) to make a nice drink.

Smelling Begum reminds me of that, it has this delicious rose syrup smell, with the woody oud underneath

I cant wait to wear this on skin, but will wait till my cold is fully gone

It's been said before, but it's worth saying again: @mesOUD is a true artist!

EO Oud Sultani 2001

This is one of the best oils ever created. Opens up with medium body honey, not very sweet, with background of all sorts of floral notes, but the main player here is a purple floral theme. There is some smooth buttery aroma from the beginning of the oil till the end. My only take on this oils is still how subtle it is, after 1 hours of applying I have to go too close to get a complete whiff.

SULAYM - Imperial Maroke.

Worn yesterday 🙂.

(True) First Impressions of this oil.

Dark deep jungle, bitter herbaceous, greenery notes with some resinous Maroke woody notes with some creamy vanilla tones, seriously wet and damp earthy/soil jungle notes as if it was monsoon season, oceanic freshness and mineral saltiness, after it settles on your skin around 15-20 mins later it starts to transition and becomes less bitter, and more kind of "bittersweet" or semi-sweet with normal, realistic greenery, herbaceous notes that you would expect being in a Papuan jungle... as it develops more it becomes quite minty then not too soon later it becomes a subtle mentholic + normal minty notes playing in harmony. Slight to moderate resinous notes and Maroke woody incense notes, as well as creamy vanillic notes that you get from burning, say, KZ's Wild Maroke Triple Super (but in a different kind of way). Oceanic Marine breeze notes mixed with the minty/mentholic notes combine to create this fresh, clear fragrance of the pure jungle (the thing I have noticed about this oil is that its a lot like smelling the actual wood from your hand, very subtly incense-y, its quite spectacular). Deep oceanic notes come out to play with a kind of ambergris note that (in my expression anyway) gives off this animalic creaminess (almost like its a fermented Hindi cream but not to that extreme at all, its just perfect), and very sweet almost vanillic (perhaps more along the lines of Tonka Bean? Not sure). During the base notes you get this wonderful Wild Assam wood like notes mixed with Maroke (my reference from wild assam wood comes from Yamadamatsu's Rikkokugomi sticks called the Shu-Ju Range, and the one that I am referencing is Sasora) which is absolutely beautiful, some resinous notes but mostly beautiful woodiness of both of these type of woody scents. As it starts to get into the dry down the more Maroke note comes out, the jungle notes are all still there but in the undertones now and you get this lovely Maroke incense note, and it is quite spicy, slightly bitter, vanillic sweet, and extremely lovely woody oudy. And the oil in the mids was also giving some spicy+minty notes that was nose tingly. As it went into dry down I got these notes of beautiful woody sweet, spicy, Maroke incense and beautiful wild(?) florals.

I only added small amounts of this oil as it is extremely potent and the top notes lasted at least 30mins, but transformed in 5/10/15/20/30 mins (or roughly something like this, but more seamlessly) into the mid notes, which lasted at least 3-4 hours, base notes lasted considerable amount of time, and the dry down lasted a looong time. Overall it lasted from early night and started to fade when I finally turned over to go to sleep at 1-2am. I would imagine if I put a couple more swipes I would have remnants on my hands when I got up in the morning, but it would have been too strong of an experience since this Maroke is stupendously strong, very potent oil, meaning 1gram could last even someone like me who is used to putting a lot oil on, like 6-12 months, IMHO. This isn't my first time wearing it, but the first time I did wear it I put way too much on and it was too overwhelming and I thought I disliked it (so this is the reason I am making this as a first impression, since it is a first impression on how the oil should be enjoyed) but I thought to myself, "I'm gonna give this another try because I think I just put too much of an extremely potent oil on and it's a true, bold, Maroke oil. So lets try it with less on". And walla, it was beautiful. Smells like I had a good, modern day, Maroke wood, like the KZ Wild Triple Super Wood.

PS: I wrote majority of the notes yesterday on the 19th on my text document on my computer, then when I went to bed wrote what the dry down was (in my phone notes) and added that to my notes on my computer when I got up today, and then added the middle part above as well. I wanted to give this oil a fair review as I have seen SULAYM has gotten attacked by some guy who just randomly appeared on the forum and SULAYM are nothing but a great, kind, caring, amazing company, that share great oils with the world at fabulous prices.

Oud of the night (or oud right bevor going to bed) Oud said from @mesOUD abi.

Tranquility and humility in a bottle. I always feel peace and remember the first time smelling this oil, sitting on my desk and asking myself is this really an oud oil or an attar. Am I smelling cloves or castoreum. I was so naiv and clueless dear reader. This is the kind of naivety that we are only experiencing when we are young. I had very little knowledge about oud oils and I still have. I am a student and always will be.

Inshallah I will smell SOROOR one day, I can just imagine what ambergris did to this oil. When the time comes I will write about it dear reader. Hopefully soon

I was pleasantly surprised when brother Mehmet said he was going to send a sample of begum may Allah reward him for his generosity. I received it today and just now, I got a bit on my finger as I unscrewed the cap so I applied to the back of my hand. Tbh, I wasn't going to write this post but after I had a sniff I just had to. I'll preface this by saying that I've only had a few mins with this and going to sleep soon so it's not a complete review.

Out of the bottle, it smells like a clean hindi with that sweet honey note, but you can also smell the rose without it overpowering everything else. My nose was a little stuffy when I applied it and had a sniff, and it removed the stuffiness almost instantly. It opened with this beautiful sweet, floral note that had this slight menthol note, but it was not strong or unpleasant at all. I'm guessing this is because the wood was soaked in rose hydrosol, but the rose smelled like it was a part of the oud as opposed to a separate ingredient, and it perfectly complemented everything without getting in the way. Honestly this oil is just something else, and I'm so thankful to brother Mehmet for gifting me this oil.

You are most welcome brothet
This mentholic and fruity notes are wood’s own notes,i distilled a small batch of this wood by itself earlier, hindis are familar with fermented notes, sure matches well with ferment notes but clean hindis are another thing

Do not miss SOROOR. It is an utterly amazing attar. My attar for life! I am hesitant to put this out in fear that SOROOR may run out if some wealthy people grab the stash. The musk imparts that animalic scent to it that makes it irresistible.

Just took a swipe of Begum @mesOUD , an Indian oud and rose codistillation - instantly a clean hindi oud harmoniously mixing up with syrupy rose. Not the generic rose oud you’d smell. Yet another beautiful release
This oil has a special place in my heart. It’s very precious to me.
Thank you for this brother Mehmat

it's a beauty isn't it? 🙂

Been a couple of hours now and this has unfolded beautifully. Normally dissecting and appreciating the transitions of rose and oud can be done separately but here it’s been difficult. Its like they’re rolling like a ball
I agree and perceive it similarly -

I can relate to this!

Hello Dear friends 🙂
Hope you are all well

Swipe in the Evening before sleeping Never too late fro swiping ^^

Al Hashimi Lindaraja
Subhanallah this oil is stunning !
Banana is impossible to be forgotten here …
An amazing aroma emerging from the this straight Banana candy 🍭 it’s the very light incensy steam of Oud chips in low to mild temp at the limits of bubbling… juste before this temp point !
Honestly it’s mind blowing … almost sad it only lasting 2 hours … it disappears quickly… unfortunately !
Anyway this oils is simply the best Papuan oil My nose encountered so far !
*Édit: Aging seems gives longer lasting !
When I woke up I was still able to smell lightly the scent 🤩

I wish you all à very good Swipe of the night 🌙🌘💤
