AgarAura - Myitkynia 4k v2

I have to say that Burmese oils that I experienced before this one did not work for me. Heavily fermented and centered around a curry note.

But this one, wow. There’s a sweet bitterness, heavy on the cinnamon and the dry down is amazing it smells like fumigated fabrics with good quality oud wood. If there’s any Burmese oils that gets better than this I need to try it, because this is amazing.

I have V1 and it's awesome. Perhaps one of my favourites from AA.

This one is incredible. I only have a 0.2g sample & I guard it with my life!

Siamlou

This is another oil from brother @SamiterkiW. Today, I had a single swipe applied to my forearm & it was radiating beautifully. In between having my nose glued to my forearm, I was receiving glorious wafts of Oud at unexpected times, a true pleasure! Although I don’t like to wear Oud as my fragrance for the workday, a discrete application very much inspires me & makes me happy while I’m working.

Siamlou is a very special Thai oil, I was amazed the first time I smelt it. There are very few Thai oils I absolutely love, but this is right up there with Lao Xiang - The Oud Lab, as one of the best I’ve smelled! While Lao Xiang is more traditional with its slightly musky, smoky, deep resinous Oud resin, fruit compote aroma, Siamlou is crystal clear, airy, floral yet still exhibits a very deep, full bodied base note.
In the top Siamlou is super clean, obviously Thai Crassna but also sharing a sunny, vapourous, medicinal Sinensis quality. It has that cystalline low-temp distallation effect. As the oil develops into the mid notes, the profile becomes floral (mimosa), with an almond-marzipan note. Instead of the basic tutti-frutti aroma you get with an average grade of Thai Oud, Siamlou reveals a refined glacé cherry note & a hint of caramel like sweetness.
The base note is what really confirmed the high grade of wood used for this distillation. To my nose, 9 times out of 10, Thai Ouds contain an unpleasant note upon the dry down. I’m not sure what contributes to this aroma, but it’s like that scratchy white bunk wood smell. Siamlou has none of this, it’s keeps getting sweeter, more rounded & smooth, a deep rich resinous, high grade Crassna aroma stays until the final stages.

An excellent oil, I’m very impressed with Sami’s curation, he has a fine nose! His friend who is distilling these Ouds is talented.
Next up I’ll review another magnificent oil from Malinau 👍🏼

I have some samples from KyaraShrine. "White Kyara" steam distilled oud oil and "high grade wild mysore" sandalwood.

Obviously this white kyara oil is from some kind of cultivated kinam / kinamic / kinamish wood and has about the impact that you might expect a CK distillate to have but to my nose, this oil really reminds me a little bit more of the Lao crassna plantation oil I got from EJayB than the kyarashrine green kyara oil or other CK oils. It has some of the fresh floral and violet characteristics of CK oils but in its heart it is like lao or thai almost... overall it's not something I would wear even though it's a reasonably clean specimen because of that pungency that seems to be in so many oils. The aroma once the pungent wave passes is actually very nice - THAT i would wear.

The sandalwood is interesting - smells like pure Sandalwood but it is not like your usual Mysore steam distilled oils. I enjoy the aroma - mild, woody, waxy - the scent is more like this one CO2 extract in my stash than my distilled oils, though it has things in common with both. I hate to say it but at the price it's offered at ($32/g) I don't find it appealing.

Today I've used ThienThanhAgarwoodVN Vietnamese Oud Oil. I must admit this is really nice and have this sweet smell. The oil is aged as the oil seems darker and thicker. In the beginning it starts as if it's like one passing by the sugar cane factory and slowly it gives such a nice warmth and old flask cork type smell. I bought this on the recommendation of @Goodness Nose and Thanks for such a wonderful experience. ^^

Khmer Tiger from Oudique came in last night and wow... what a beautiful scent. I got some gummy bears and a very juicy incense that was sparkling. It's so different from Habzoud's Cambodi Smoke 2 and other cambodis I've tried (although I'm still an oud novice). From all my recent purchases, this one and the Oud Lab's Garo Jing are my favs

Siam Thai Oud oil from @SamiterkiW

Brother Sami kindly sent me a few samples to test out of oils he plans to release, thank you for these brother.

This oil is very interesting, it has a crystal like aroma with a piercing golden punchy top note of exotic fruits drenched in manuka honey. Not your typical fruity Thai oil, this is more refined and super clean. The oil moves towards slight green phase, with purple florals and notes of blueberry bubble gum with wisps of gentle earth and incense. The dry down is slightly bitter with a good dose of woodiness.

Very pleasent oil indeed and deffo one of the nicer oils of this style of Thai i have smelt, good job brother 🥳

If you like Oud Yusuf this one is the same style but better!

Malay Ultime from @Faizal_p opens with a punchy etheral purple floral fizzyness i associate with high end Malay or Borneo oils. The oil even with its age is so bright, fiesty and bold in character. Theres a mineral equatic vibe to this smell, the ocean hitting the rocks on a beach with wisps of gentle incense, the smell of oozing Oud resin. Theres a dusty antique wood vibe with bright florals aswell as a smell akin to Sri Lankan oils. As the oil settles it moves towards a darker woodsy phase with a sweet earthiness lingering in the background. I also detect some candied sweetness along with some jungle vibes.

Need to spend more time with this one buts its definatley something unique and special 🥰
