Craftoud - Kampung Regal

I was gifted this oil and tried it yesterday.
Very „strange“ scent profil i have to say.
I got hit with an enormous amount of muskiness in the beginning.
It was overwhelming to be honest.
If i say musk its because i am lacking of the perfect knowledge to describe it better, i know real musk and that smells different.
But the smell i got in the beginning the closest comparison for me is musk.
There were some floral nuances as well in the opening.
After about one hour the muskiness is gone (and thats for the best 😁) now you get the smell of agarwood, but it reminds me more of srilankan than papuan 🤷‍♂️
All in all a interesting experience.
Not sure if i would buy this oil 😉
What makes me wonder because i read some other describtion and they are way off my experience.

Zamrad II @Habz786 is quite the stuff... someone just asked me recently for a recommendation for a clean oud at a couple hundred bucks per quarter tola and I went to check the price before making the recommendation thinking (again) that the oil must be more expensive than I remember after I applied a swipe earlier. Nope. i've been going through some of the samples I have from Habz - each is distinctive, saturated, high quality - very consistent fine oils. I don't see a signature aroma profile in the sense of any shared note or profile - the signature I see which emerges when you smell the collection is that there is nothing in the oils I have from him with any of the standard off notes you sometimes find in lower quality or less carefully selected materials. We talk about the "nose" when it comes to perfume making but the nose for a perfumery is also the person who chases down and identifies the finest specimens and choice materials. Habz is a "nose extraordinaire" I am completely convinced

@mesOUD Koh Chang (2023) Aquilaria Crassna is my Oud of the day!
Verdant, floral, melon rind.
A sensational oil! I remember my first order with brother Mehmet and he asked me what sort of profile I was after, and he choose two oils for me, one of them was Koh Chang, and to no one's surprise I fell in love with this oil, wearing it everywhere! It's perhaps the oil I've worn the most, what makes it addictive is that profile, which you described perfectly, and having the perfect amount of sweetness, never becoming too jammy sweet, it's my ideal oud for summertime!

Hot crayons, wet cardboard, dried cat spit, anyone? I'm not sure why people are making this type of CO2 extract. I have a crassna bracelet from the same source and that wood has that same cat spit smell. So odd... The Yuzhi oud budget co2 sinensis oils are much cleaner - not a trace of the spit, paraffin or cardboard

I am going to have to request some saliva of my cat to know this new experience

Just lick your arm a bunch of times when you haven't brushed your teeth for a while and let it dry down and imagine something about three times to 10 times as concentrated. It's not that intense in this oil but the spit/saliva permeates the entire profile. I'm just wondering what people DO with this who buy it because they have a couple of oils with this profile and describe them in positive terms. I was thinking maybe this has some kind of application as a civet like material to anchor or exalt some florals or something like that.

Dr. Incense - Primitive Laos

I'm starting to get sick, so I wanted an oil I know well. This one usually starts off roaring with fresh lacquer on ancient wood. I got the lacquer on the dip stick, but not the skin. Instead, we went straight to ancient wood and vintage books.

Transitioning now into a kind of driftwood and sweet chocolatey musk combo. Almost like there's a small amount of ambergris and musk in here.

The old famous battle : )
how would you compare these two?
hi,
Completely different oils, bro. Ultima's profile is red (berries, earthiness), and to me, it’s really close to another Oriscent oil (Guallam No. 1). Nowadays, you can’t buy a 1g v-vial, so Ultima is a great alternative, in my opinion.

On the other hand, Nha Trang is creamy, woody, and has white floral notes, making it closer to other Oriscent oils (Kalbar 3000, Kyara de Kalbar).

To sum up, Ultima is a fantastic oil 9/10,but EO Nha Trang is on another level, beyond the x/10 scale.
