Amira today, bare naked Oud :Inlove:

ASO Jannah

Since I’ve been lighting a lot of Japanese incense lately....... I’m focusing on Jannah’s incense behavior.

It’s like beautiful liquid incense with oriental overtones.

Thinking outside the box, to me, Jannah is what I imagine Chinese oud should smell like, but of course the reality is otherwise. In reality it is indeed Papuan in profile.

I won’t be able to experience the drydown because it’s time for me to catch some Zeeees
:Sleep::Sleep:
Maybe you'll catch a whiff in your dreams.

EO Papuamantan. What I expected. This does not soar like Port Papua however. Is this the aging effect? I can taste the green, it seems a bit smoother than PP. I've lost the leather from the first hour, but this is nice. Very nice.

Oud of Yesterday: Mahabali (Agar Aura). This is one seriously stout Hindi. It's non-barn but its sheer mega-presence makes me think of that picture of the big Aussie steer Knickers nonchalantly towering over what look like mini-cows. Love this one.

Oud of Today: Al Shareef Oudh III (ASO). Was craving a classic Malaysian profile today, this is a fine representation. Foresty, varnishy, pipe tobacco and a touch of smoke.

Happy Solstice everyone!

Waxy-pencil shaving note is usually a reflection of the distilled low grade wood.

Another overhyped oil that aging has tried its best to mask that not-so-good oudwood IMO...
So many oils are dissapointing in hindsight, lot of them overhyped and overpriced. Any suggestions for oils you found stood the test of time Ammar?
