Trakan Vintage (Imperial Oud): A niche product! A classical Oud. Low and high notes flow beautifully. Incense grade Oudwood on the coal, oils of sweet and crispy scent of spices coming out of a diffuser, and I am inhaling the aroma being at some distance.

The way a top class clean Hindi Oud was described by respected Peter "barn without barn", this oil is not having sourly and excessively sharp medicinal notes. After Habz' Al Borneo, this oil has a level.

Though the oil has not been released, but when released, it will be one of the next coming heart favourites.

Thanks Faheem Saheb for correcting me. Otherwise, I was so scared that I had been going to wear Thai. But I wrote (that I have edited) that it is a Thai without Thai. Thank goodness. :Roflmao:
Trakan Vintage (Imperial Oud) That one sounds right up my ally. love the classical oud styles. Thanks dear Rai for the heads up!

Earlier today.....
AH Kakaya
A fairly young oil (14 months) doing a Malaysian Cambodian waltz.
Phases of spiced perfume and fruits, with a good resinous base
A 3 species co-distillation......so expect something utterly unique.

Presently.......
Aroha Kush on the left
Chiem Po Qi on the right

The CPQ brings out the smokiness of the AK

CPQ is like an Orang Date Smoothie, with a splash of fig liquor and a sprig of tobacco leaf. A little later it develops an oudy toffee note, “now” we’re talkin’ Cambodi!, but then after that it becomes a little sugary. It gets quiet at dry down, with a nice woody note and a tiny bit incensy. It does strike me as an oil juiced from a good grade of agarwood.

AA Oud Kalbar. Some years old now and very near the end of the bottle. Sweet floral powdery top notes still intact with a classic Borneo drydown. I sometimes get a note that is almost like lacquer, except very pleasant. I put some on my wrists for the drydown, and a bit on my undershirt to preserve the sweet florals through the day. One of those oils that provide a real journey between phases, but I really love the topnotes 🙂 One of the nicest Borneo ouds I've tried.

Do tell...

Cooked skillfully from incense grade wild Aquilaria Microcarpa shavings.

Have you ever imagined smelling a mojito in an oud oil ? Guavas and Mangoes ? Okay now imagine all of these on the beach pampered by oceanic breeze whiffs enjoying a borneo oud wood heating session.

@Dan thanks for your kind words, as with alot of Habzoud oils i have had to sell my own personal stash due to peoples love for the oils. This oil is a heavy hitter....
Special mention to Martin who was selling this oil (only USA delivery) I could have it delivered to my brother.... and also thanks to you brother for sending 0.5ml from ur personal stash

Cambodi comparison
The lucid Chiem Po Qi
versus
Factory grade distillation economy oil

The factory oil is a bit louder, with a slight barn
honey, and fruits.
The CPQ is pretty and delicious.

They last equally long.

At dry down the CPQ has more of an incense agarwood chip smell, while the factory oil has sweet resin.

CPQ is 10x the price, but it is not my argument tbat the factory oil is the better deal.
I welcome both oils with open arms into my collection.

If you like how an oil smells, that’s what really counts. Unfortunately, our purchases are influenced by $$$
That’s where decisions have to be made, which also makes the whole ouddiction quite interesting
