Removed the IO pouch with all the samples today ...

Unfortunately my Burma Imperial sample fell and cracked open [emoji17]

Upside I smell super Oudy and I noticed today that this oil has similarities with Fragrant Harbour Imperial that green oil Kinam note ... it's very subtle but I get it ... may be I'm tripping [emoji23][emoji1787] because I didnt pick that earlier

Thats too bad, I love a great Burmese

EO Sultan Beyazit

This is I believe one and only single Origin distillation from the Sultan Series .... region New Guinea

This starts of with a huge dose of mineral note ... something I've not come across alot in Ouds... later turns into a sweet aqua Oud keeping its Oud base intact ...

Laos Dragon's Blood & Walla Emerald by Rising Phoenix - very nice. The Laos being very smooth, non-barn but showing a lot of character, dragon's blood is apt as I imagine a dark red scent.
The walla is also beautiful, showing a green/yellow tinge and it does feel Sri Lankan even though it's Indonesian

Opens with a genie in the bottle blast of rich Cambodi oud, then later....the Thai peachiness arrives, and so does a blanket of dust. The mild smokiness is there, but not overpowering.

As the dust settles a bit, there’s an oudy mineral twang that any ouddict would love. From there it’s more of the same through the dry down.

Definitely a good caliber oil:Thumbsup:

EO Hainan 05

A few I spoke to dont like this oil... most like that sweet cinnamon Clove Hainan note oils which most of the vendors are selling.

For me the medicinal musky feel to this oil is what sets it apart from other Hainan oils ... Base and Dry down Kinamic note in the oil is so so addictive... at times I feel I could've got another bottle of this one...

<3 hainan 2005, heavenly scent =)

Got my ASO Yunnan package today, and the first thing that hit my nose was the muskiness of Kunuz sample and it was making the whole package fragrant.

AL Shareef was really generous In samples and received following,

Hareer is really Gourmand to my nose and the the long sinesis drydown reminds lil of Yunnan.

Marjaan opening blew my mind, as it fades down the vetiver note surprised me. The note is so dense that you know it's a long drydown.

Cambodi Qadeem, this was the best opening of all the Cambodi I have tried meantime I dont have a good equation with Cambodi altogether.

Have received their samples of attars, at present I have not tried it. But ward smells awesome from the bottle.

TajOud - 198

I always knew my Hindi to have that little to too strong barnyard feel to it ...

This just changes my perception on Hindi oils all together. I have Meitei, Luishai Hills, Oud Naga from Agarwood Assam, Hind by ASO ... but I never experienced what I experience with this Oud oil.

If anyone has burnt Five Rivers incense stick by ASO will relate to this oil or anyone who has burnt resinous Assam Wood on coal ... the fumigated room or ur clothes the way it lingers that's the feel u get with this oil..

This is my first experience of 198 by TajOud ... Our respected Rai Munir Brother has named this oil Incenso Di Assam and is selling this under his brand Mosafir(he is humble enough to give credit to Tajul Bakshi the master behind this oil)

If u like Barnyard Hindis this is not your oil ....

Al Hashimi Adnan

Hasn’t changed much since my last swipe.

Still a little topnote-ish at the opening, with a mineral herbal scent, then some oudy-resinousness appears, with what is very difficult to describe, a faint whisp of a mysterious floral, white fruit flesh.........etc.

Not powerful, but satisfying and long lasting.

Tajul Bakshi - 200 (Imani)

This is so much different from 198 ... this again is an Hindi oil with Zero Barn ... but it has good dose of Musk and leather notes in Mid and Dry down ... in the top notes its incensy like burning an Hindi chip on Charcoal...

Out of 198 and 200 ... I love both but if I have to choose one itll be 200(Imani) for sure. I'm a big Musk and Leather fan so it's a personal choice.

Dear and respected Dan, 200 is Khudee, and 199 is Imani.

The notes you have mentioned are surely in Khudee, and wood heating I found in Imani.

I will confirm it again.

Hamms - powdery opening but delightful. The drydown is sweet and pungent. Green blue I think

Reporting back, live from the dry down....

This is is a very pretty, mild mannered dry down. Somewhat floral and like smooth freshly sanded wood. Sweet. And one thing that sticks out - this dry down must be first cousins with Zara Zen, but more complex and longer lasting.

Al Shareef - Yunnan. Such an epic oil. I forgot to mention this one yesterday. I can't even really describe it. I have a feeling it was a soak, maybe in copper? It's such a decadent and confident oil. So mature too. If you want an oil with legs, one that won't disappear after 3 hours or make you want to reswipe because the drydown doesn't hold a candle to the top notes, this oil is for you. Maybe similar in some weird way to Zenesis, but that's probably because they both have that Chinese aspect, and I haven't smelled enough oils yet to make better comparisons. I do however have a harder time describing this one. It's opening is more medicinal but not in a terpy/piney/high frequency way. Ughhh - can someone make one of those olfactory descriptor wheels - one that we can use to better navigate describing oils? They have terpene wheels for ganja like this and they are really great for describing scent. Maybe KyaraZen had one I saw..... Anyone have readily available to post?
