A drop of Hainan ( hydro distilled)from young trees.
I like this profile even without a lot of the depth you would get if it were wild.
And it’s sustainability is a major incentive.
The price is also helpful so I purchased a large volume to set aside for aging and sharing along with the CO2 oil extracted from the same wood as a comparison for my scent journey. On my journey it’s about exploring and understanding thru hands on and personal experiences with the scents that tantalize my curiosity

CO2 extraction and distillation from same material? That would be great for learning!

Tonight I am wearing AR2 by Al shareef oud. This stuff is totally mind bending and has totally changed my perspective of what oud can actually be. It ducks and dives and changes every five mins, one min it’s a dark chocolate smokey hindi vibe, the next it has a strong medicinal Chinese profile, the next it has that jungle like Malaysian quality. I have truly never experienced anything like this before. It has a nice almost boozy quality from the start also. You almost wonder if you’re actually smelling oud and not some kind of potion. Beautiful stuff MashaAllah.
