Wearing hainan imperial by IO tonight. I’m beyond words, this is everything about oud I love, it has a bitter quality to it that isn’t too much, a green herbal note with a bed of sweetness that just perfectly balances the oil out. This is an oud I love from the start until the finish, with many others I prefer the opening over the mids or vice versa. Hainan is just perfect at every stage.

Yes - this is a great oil. I feel like there’s a wave of well balanced floral in the top note that is almost like violet flower. Then indeed a very nice bitterness and sweetness combined. I would love to have more of this oil and will struggle to make my small sample last...

I have a little and am feeling anxious with that also lol. It just has a beautiful structure to it that complements each other like a well blended perfume lol

Wearing Nagaland imperial today by IO. A beautiful Hindi oud with very little barn or funk at all just the crystal clear Hindi profile. The first clean Hindi I’ve tried. Great quality as usual from Faizal, Faheem and everyone at Imperial Oud.

EO Naga Layyen

Cream up front, then a battle between Hindi and Cambodi, then mostly Nagaland wonder. A lot of yummy notes peeking in and out.

After a while, the classic Hindi/Cambodi combo start to meld a bit, but not completely. Even the mild barn has a classic tone to it, think Ajmal.

Power of scent is typical for this bracket of oud from EO, so come in close for a sniff.

All-in all.....no regrets with this bottle.

This oil definitely needs more settling/aging.

So bummed I didn’t pick up some of this when available. I opted for the Nha Trang Ultima simply because I already had Hainan 05 and wanted to smell a Nha Trang. Also excellent, but it seems like people just went insane for the Hainan.
