I would reiterate (and I am guilty of doing this right now so maybe it’s hypocritical)—In my humble opinion a “(whatever) of the day” is a place for someone to say—this is what I have, and this is what I think of said experience. You have been overly hard on Agar Aura specifically here lately, and I was stating my personal opinion as to how I feel about running a specific vendor down in This particular thread. Nothing against how you feel about the vendor in general as we have already discussed this in private message.

In the many forums I am a member of there’s two places you don’t state anything more than a passing experience on the product. That’s 1.) In the Smoke of the Day, Cigar of the Day, Bowl of the Day or watch of the day. And 2.) In the “for sale” area. These regulations have been placed on these forums as to prevent Off topic arguments that will never be settled because we are talking about personal opinions. Peoples hackles get up and it discourages Members of the forum posting an honest opinion of something when fear of public scrutiny might happen. It’s nothing like rewarding children with a participation trophy. It’s more akin to the parents who relentlessly heckle the officials in a Tee Ball game between innings thus preventing other parents from speaking up when there’s a real issue. You are a registered vendor here EJ. I have purchased from you. If you have an axe to grind over quality/price ratio with ANY vendor, open a thread somewhere else to discuss it. It has no place in the Oud of the Day. My opinions and my opinions only and my level of care about this is about a 2/10 so take that for what it’s worth.

Cheers all. My wonderful Miri Royal wore off long ago and I am rocking Al Hashimi Akkad now and it’s lasted and lasted. Great oil.

My opinion about an oil I bought and own is not welcome? Nobody mention anything they don’t like please . I don’t comment on other peoples experience By name or bash them for liking or dislike of oils. We all need to feel comfortable expressing our opinions And I have never spoke about an oil I don’t personally own Nor have I ever bashed anybody for their opinion Of an oil or vendor.
Others opinions have led me to try many oils and vendors and I value these opinions even the ones I disagreed with.
I now feel much less like expressing my opinion if not the same as the”herd”
 
EJayB - your opinion is valued. What is the point if you have to pretend you like some set of oils when maybe you don’t... it’s only superficially polite. Polite to the vendor, rude to the community. We’ve all seen how the forums go where it’s all just fawning and drooling and worshiping over producers and new releases... this is literally the most boring thing to read eventually because the constant positivity removes any ability to compare or judge critically. And it’s annoying to have to always read between the lines. Which is really where any kind of criticism shows up in this context. I for one don’t want to just see constant gushing positive fragrance poems for every product that everyone can find some reason to like and nobody being honest when something isn’t up to their standards. I fear sometimes that this place will devolve into endless oud selfies and “likes” of products and new releases. Super peppy, and very nice, but utter drivel. If that’s what the community wants then go for it... who am I to ruin the party...
