Wearing Lao Shan by Oud Lab.

This is a VERY interesting Thai oil. Deep plum and frankincense form a really nice incense accord akin to throwing a tear of Hojari on a sliver of Thai wood. I believe this is a decade old oil from the south Thailand mountain region. It’s profile is completely different from what I’m used to. It’s dark, resinous and incensy. There’s a hint of fermentation happening but it’s so smooth and chocolatey. No barn notes or anything fecal. Just raw Agarwood and deep booming base notes.

I love how incense forward all of Oud Lab’s oils are. This Thai is no different. Nothing fruity except for deep plum notes. No sweetness here either except for a typical “incense” sweetness. But definitely NO fruits. I think I need to explore this profile more.

This is a fantastic oil, one that I didn’t get in the sample set but Nadeem had ordered one whole tola of it so I managed to get a few swipes. I can tell you this is definitely an interesting Thai oil one that I wish I had more time to explore.

Yeah bro it’s really nice. I was surprised by the scent profile. I love feeling surprised with Oud. It’s crazy how different these oils can smell. It makes me realize I don’t know a damn thing about Oud.

By what I have read of your descriptions Aron, you have a very good nose not to mention the fact your ability to describe the notes which will put you in a very good position to be in when it comes to starting your own little venture in the oud trade😉👍

Swiped EO Hun Yin this morning,
I like Ensar’s take on this oil,
but to keep things simple,
it’s like notes from Oud Royale 1985,
Sultan Afnan, and Sultan Mujeeb.

The effect of this Sumatran-New Guinea
oil is an ethereal cloud with smoke and oudy syrup pouring out, along with many notes that don’t want to mix with each other.

An enjoyable heavy-hitter.

I really appreciate those kind words bruv!

As much as I’d love to somehow be in the oud business My wife would probably leave me if she came home to the whole house smelling like Oud.

Oud Lab’s Cambodi Royale for my night cap. It’s been a lot of fun getting to know these oils.

Old school Cambodi’s hit me the same way Hindi’s do. It never really gets old. The way this was fermented brings out a deep red molasses note. It has that classic old school fermentedt fruit vibe but also this incensey molasses. I also pick up a bit of dried dates and a touch of caramel drizzle on top of super musky Cambodian fruits.

Cambodi Royale is definitely a musky oil but it’s not fecal or leathery. There’s no barnyard notes here but the fermentation is strong on the onset. I think for folks that are used to fermentation this would almost smell clean and for those that love ultra clean oils this presents as fruity musk. Like a deep port wine musk.

Like most of Abu’s offerings this one is pure incense all the way. The drydown gets a little creamy which I love and the fermentation seems to fizzle out after an hour or two which leaves you with a killer incense vibe. Lots of projection and sillage. As always I’m impressed with what this community puts out.

AA King K Nam
AA Bentong Royal
Wouahhh! such complex oils…
KKN is multi faces … today this oil sharing me the VSK shadow with a kinamic milky cream of vanilla with a vaporous diesel note very clean and buttery… blue berries and nuts, wild strawberries and almonds… light Ambregris … this is ZEN in a bottle !
this oil is so fresh, the aging will be unbelievable ! Taha made a Monster here …

Bentong Royal is still fresh also,
Sweet Coca Cola notes, similar to Makhota, Malaya but stronger more resinous and less powdery. I also get steam of Maliki and Altamsah from Habz . Difficult to describe…
These two oils are unmissable for people who missed Makhota and Vietnan Spécial K 🙂
These oils are very nice experience and it remind me something very satisfying in my life, but I don’t know yet what is it exactly…
However I love it !

Am thinking too much to get Borneo Ateeq after having its sample. Loving it so much. Borneo being my fav region...

How do you rate its performance? For me not exactly what i expect but still a beautiful oil 🙂
i cant rate performance , i m not good at this statement cuz my skin eat oud so fast ,rare i get more than 3 4 hours with just few oils ...but is good oil i like it alot

Had the opportunity Thursday to share some swipes with @Proust Madeleine in the parking lot during a concert. The coolest thing was the lead singer of the opening act (and best band there) was swiping away too! Was extremely cool. We swiped Purple Kinam, Guallam Liquide, Feel Oud Malinau Extreme, Kynam 1, Emperor of China, Maroke Ceylon, Habz Sultan, some of the new Al Hashimis, the new Virgin KS from Feel Oud among a few others I am sure I’ve forgotten. Also heated some amazing Seram wood and sampled a few amazing sprays. We were surprised the cops didn’t come around asking what we were doing! Haha. Headliner band is rocking out and we are swiping and sniffing away. Awesome time!
