It’s always nice seeing your posts but I have to admit this went entirely over my head what are you talking about? Clean? Acid?

Actually, a vendor, whom I consider one of the best among the best, gave a sweeping statement:
[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day

My oud of the day:

UNS irian Jaya from 2008 / 2009 in two bottles. One has been topped off in a 2ml bottle, one has been aging as a 1.5 mm deep residue in the bottom of a 4ml vial (LOTS of oxidation). I used alcohol to dissolve the thickened oxidized oud and applied some today.

Well the fact that the oils once were the same it’s not hard to imagine, the one that was left with a lot of oxygen has transformed into a nice antique smelling oud with an oily cola papua heart. The one that was left in the topped off vial still has the intense fuzzy herbal note that the oil had when it was fresh and in this case really does not smell as good as the one exposed to air for 14 years.

I’m very glad I performed this little experiment. If you have some inexpensive agarwood isn’t quite meeting your fancy, but if it was produced carefully by one of our artisan distilleries… just you wait. Allow oxygen in time to work its magic.

Does the word “clean” have some kind of definition I’m not aware of? is this just the usual ensar bullshit?

Today, I wore three Oud oils and one attar four times, and each oil made me love them from the deepest core of my heart:
1. Borneo Ateeq by Habz: Beuatiful into beautiful. Clean Oud with rich Borneoesque flare.
2. Oud Ashoka by Dr Prasun: It haunted and haunts me more than Borneo does, buy it is just a personal preference. It is like smearing Oud resin on the wrist. No skank and funk, but clean.
3. King Cambodi by Ensar: Elegant deep and clean Cambodi aroma lurks in the air for long.
4. Musk Rose Attar: Fresh Musk was macerated in Nangarhar Rose, and I know the worth of both the ingredinets.

A big day it is; otherwise, I don't wear Oud that many times a day.

Sorry to use the word 'CLEAN' in brief takes of mine😜. For the last day, out of nowhere this word CLEAN has turned to be the outcome of acid and many more bla bla blas. I was sent a screenshot of a CLEAN statement (by Ensar) which reads: REPEAT AFTER ME...., and I couldn't help but laugh, and recalled innumerable reviews on Gaharu (when I was active member there years before) in which a lot many Oud oils by Ensar were CLEAN.

Any way, today I swiped CLEAN oils with a thuming heart that my wrists might not have blotches due to swiping ACID Oud.
AnywaY!
The word Clean has become so Unclean 😁

Oud with a large side of Ego seems to be the principal dish of the day over at Empire E=n(c)2. If the man didn’t offer so many highly enjoyable—if floridly, purplishly marketed—oils, my patience (and stomach acids) would have turned ages ago.

Tonight I’m sporting some IO Wilpattu Raja. Definitely, happily, not squeaky clean haha 😂

Al Hashimi - Saba Jinko

I put this on while working at my laptop and it's radiating off my skin. When that happens, I often wonder if that's the strength of the oil (noticed it developing in recent months) or just the fact that I'm not going nose blind to it by sniffing up close all the time. Anyway, it's a lovely oil.

Just checked Al Hashimi website. Looks like it’s not working, everything alright? They closing up shop?

EO Sultani 1975.

I was upset at myself when I first received this. Purchased impulsively after getting the promo email for it and was unimpressed when i first tried it. Had too much of that barnyard funk for my novice nose.

Fast forward a few weeks and multiple attempts and I absolutely love this one. I think it helped develope my palate towards traditional oils with some of that barn in the mix. ( do all “traditional” oils have funky barn notes in the mix? Is that a defining trait of traditionally distilled oils?)

1975 has a lot of low end honey sweetness. Definitely not something I’d wear out and about. But perfect for a late night session. Sometimes I’ll swipe a bit before bed and it helps ease my mind.

Trying a sample from olefaktory labeled “(1st) Thai 2022”

A sweet, full bodied, oil that smells true to its origins. The heart of this has a nice balanced character. Top note smells like poplar bud, honey, some cinnamon sweetness. No rot, cheese, or barn. Not getting a lot of floral notes - top note comes across to me as a pungent, syrupy, like a liqueur almost. Very much reminds me of Russian Adam’s bio Thai oils when I got them years ago. Whatever the origins this is a good specimen now and I am guessing that we are just seeing a little it’s potential, and it will improve like my feel oud Thais have.

My understanding is that this was distilled by olefaktory here in US - Ed if you are here do I have that right?
