Have a big presentation today so thought I’d wear something special to boost confidence as well as ease the mind. A little swipe of Habzoud Oud Caliph Brunei….. magnificent! Sweet woodiness, musky, vanilla, golden. This one will be for special occasions only.
Great how scent can boost our confidence, isn’t it? I’m going to steal your description and try Caliph again this weekend.
Thank you! 🙂

Leen by ASO. A gorgeous plantation oud oil. Minerals and deep incense without the smokiness with a core of citrusy sourness. IMO very accesible but also with enough depth to the fragrance that I prefer it to many a pricier wild malaysian oil (including some from ASO). If this is the future of oud I welcome it!

Am using my small sample of Riwayat Assam by @An Najwa
This I have ordered two X 2.5gms. A wonderful old style Hindi Oudh. Hay, wood, slight cheese, tobacco in there as well.
Some fruit coming through but not sure which but a lovely evolving Hindi. Distilled earlier in the year, this will pack a punch with a bit of time added.
This House is producing some really nice oil.....

Habzoud Oud Caliph
I get addicting bright sweetness now, right after applying. Then something of the animal notes, which seem more ‘herbal’ now. (I don’t know the correct translation, so this might be incorrect.) It seems to balance the bright sweetness perfectly, like these are dancing around each other. I haven’t noticed this ‘dance’ before in an oil and I love it.
@Bazungu I understand why you'd wear this oil to boost confidence, as this 'herbal' (is this the musky part?) really feels like the self confident dance partner in this beautiful dance.

I got quite a couple oils in my collection, I am extremely picky as to what will stay in it. Again today, Oud Ertugrul. What magic is this oil!! Such a rich, mind glowing vintage layered raspberry-pinelike-kerosinelike-sweet and bitter kickoff that shimmers like crazy! Just added it. I can't stop smelling my hand and it is intoxicating and giving me the same Nha Trang LTD piercing power vibe, this characteristic that is piercing, this piercing that has a specific tone but is not related to any scent known to man, but it is piercing as it shuttles the notes and flashes them around. Wet earth is going to be coming through in a couple hours as the pine-kerosine like aromas fade...and I am just salivating as I wait for the oriental sweet and bitter green kyara room temperature and the low heat purple kyara notes to come knocking on the door with gummy vibes and faint flashes of the opening notes. It just feels too good to be true that I have 3.5grams of this treasure.

I am now noticing something quite new! the raspberry has swiched from that pine/kerosinelike aromas into this beautiful smooth sweet/sour/bitter/cooling/ almost lemon-lime/raspberry with the hint of wet tropical earth! Crazy what the nose learns from repetition of applications!

this is what i try to tell for new comers in this game, most of them make mistake and once they sniff an oil they decide miss or hit etc, i try to tell them oud not work like that and even after months of trials they will get new notes . Also you can hate an oil today and love it after months or years...Oud work with temperature , envoirment , mood, wheater , body temp also etc etc...so all time you get new nuances from it and i think thats why i m addicted to it from more then a decade 😀
Today EO Basic Kinam + RPP Bija Hainan

100% bro! I have had this oil for exactly 4 years! At first i didnt like it, then 7hours later went mad for the drydown and then the drydown made me like the opening. Craziest oil for my nose. Today I noticed the cooling pleasant sour note which is like a lemon lime but nothing like a lemon lime and it completely vanishes when dry down appears. This is the deepest oil I ever smell and I smell oils that are considered to be deeper. but of course like you say, it takes more than just 20 wears to unlock the whispers of the oil. I view the oil like this....a bunch of beautiful ladies all tryinng to say something all at the same time lol and their words distracted by the beauty of the most beautiful one. so many of the things the other ladies trying to say will only enter the ears without having been heard clearly and so does aroma just pass through our senses like an unheard message where one day for some reason it becomes heard.
