Imperial oud - adhirajya (steam) - walla patta

Dont need to put a big amount or even a swipe, this oil is so potent you just need a tiny dose to get a full experience. It last for ever (even after washing hands) and project like crazy (even outdoor).

My reaction after the first breath was it is the same oil as EO Kinamantan!

How to describe the scent, Its like a million dollars borneo oil lol

Full of honey and ouddiness...very very...very rich and deep.

The really best in this oil is this otherworld kinam note that scotch your nose to the back of your hand.

Definitly a masterpiece by IO!

just got a sample of a 2016 wild Malaysian oil from imperial oud called Mukhdhir, its amazing! smells like a marriage of berkilu and pecherahan(agaraura) if you got a chance to smell those oils. deff hits all the notes I like and doesn't have the classic sweaty socks that old school Malaysians have at the beginning. its almost like the wood went though Tahas secret wood treatment as its a very clean, smooth scent. 9/10!

Ok, finally thanks to Oudamber I was able to experience one of the most talks about oils of the year KZ85.

My impression is that there is no way this can comes from agarwood, and I am willing to bet the house on it.

(Please don’t forget that I am very new to oud and do not make any judgments base on what I am saying this is just my honest opinion of what I think)

First impression smells 100% like Labdanum absolute, but also mix with something more very familiar and it was not Benzoin as some people suggest it in the past the only similarity with Benzoin to me was the thickness and the stickiness similar to Benzoin the color was 100% same as the Labdanum absolute I have. Well after few tries last night finally I was able to find out what was the other familiar smell it was fossilized amber oil so did a mix of this 2 oils last night:

https://www.whitelotusaromatics.com/index.php/product/labdanum-absolute

https://www.edenbotanicals.com/amber-oil-fossilized.html

The amber needs to be only like 1/ 10th to the labdanum otherwise will be very strong on amber and will kill the labdanum smell. Testing hand by hand to me was almost the same smell for the first 30-40 min, (KZ85 was smelling just like very well aged oil compare to my mix and also is very sticky and thick) than the KZ85 slow starts to get to smell to something very spicy but not the spiciness that I am familiar from the hindis oud oils some different and unfamiliar type of spiciness that to my nose was very unpleasant. Well that’s all for KZ85 definitely not for me.

And now I am ready to follow the footsteps of Oudamberlove and pass it out to the next ouddict for observation, still have left in the vial for at least few more people to test it out the oil is so thick and strong that you only need a very small dot from a toothpick to test it out, I am pretty sure there is still enough for at least 4-5 more trays. I can ship to US only please PM if interesting to try and to pass along to other ouddict.

Thank you.

Thank you for the review, we were very specific with our requirement. Met the distiller and really drilled home our cooking requirement and used good quality dark wood... Guess it paid off

Finally I was able to check out one of this Chinese oud oils that are coming later to the market and I was getting so eager to try but the price was well above what I can afford, again thanks to Oudamberlove.

Yunnan 2003:

Even that the aroma is totally new and never smell anything like it before I can say definitely comes from 100% agarwood and the oil is of a very high quality and rare type most likely worth the price to an oud oil collector one of the strongest silage ever I have experience with any oils before.

Well the aroma is definitely not for anybody unfamiliar with pure oud oils, even for me who liked the Hindis oils from a first sniff (most people takes a while to get use to hindis smell) the aroma was like a punch in the face, definitely not for me at least for now, I can take the most fecal hindi / laos oils but this one is too much even for me.

Reading the description from the site and other peoples opinion I am surprise from where people are coming with all that like:

dark cherry tobacco smoke, with a vintage oudiness, It brings me back to past autumns., strong musty and earthy aroma of the tea, of which the taste on the palate is somewhat smooth and refreshing softness. Etc…………………………..

I have been wearing right now and all morning thinking how to describe it well here it is what I come up with:

Forgotten Laundry basket with forgotten wet bath towels starting to rotten, throw on the top few beef steaks and leave it in a wet basement for a few months then when you visit the basement this is the smell I imagine will smell like the Yunnan 2003.

Well for now I will pass on these Chinese oils I probably need more to grow up in the oud world before trying it again.

Salam peter thanks for review well I think many talk about that Oud so I will make gcms soon and see for me I trust in kyarazen 100% so wait and let's see the results soon inshallah ðŸ‘

Hi Mandeel, I don’t think you need to worry about as long as you enjoy it wearing. Many people have different tastes. I don’t care if somebody says that the oil I like to wear is rubbish or adulterated as long as it smells good to me and enjoying wearing it.

Peter4ptv - no disrespect but the kz85 does not smell like labdanum to me at all. I have many labdanum extracts and I just don't see the resemblance - they all have a very strong, distinct labdanum note that is very cloying and persistent, even a tiny dab, and I don't get a trace of this scent from the kz85. It really puzzles me that some people smell labdanum there!

I understand what you are reacting to - the first scent of that oil is very different from distilled oud - but if you apply the oil to your skin and let it develop, it really becomes a great impression of good oud wood / resin. I have made some solvent extracts of oud wood, and they resemble the kz85 in many ways. The scent of soaked and distilled agar wood is quite different from the scent of the wood itself, and I suspect this oil is an extract with solvents and not a distillate.

The only note that catches me is the top note like a Chinese herbal shop! It doesn't make me doubt the purity of the oil but i would never expect that note in oud then again ive said that with other notes but this is very unique. The dry down is like a king super chip on low heat amazing! Mandeel nice of you to settle the issue and let by gons be by gons we are here for the love of Oud and not anything personal.

Never happen with any other oils I have so fast from almost hate to love in a few days, still not sure how to explained it what exactly change and what notes I am getting, the best way to describe what I was smelling and this not from on skin but from the bottle, last night I was sniffing the cap and the bottle for a few hours I was like opening my box getting the vial unscrew the cap and take a sniff first the cap than the vial one after another for like 5 minutes than back in place in 10 minutes again doing the same think. What I was getting from it sniffing the cap was like something very clean nature and medicine mix together, but when sniff the vial directly is when hit me the magic it feel it like I am in very clean hospital room and actually I have pure oxygen coming in my nostril not like from a oxygen mask but from one of this small oxygen tubes they put in your nostril I can feel like oxygen air is coming thru my nostril. Also this is the thinnest oil I have see but it is very powerful, so thin that I have used like 5-6 swipes from plastic toothpick deep all the way to the bottom of the vial and still show almost the same level like no oil is been used, I hate this some of the thaqeel type thick oils after a few swipes and the quarter of the 3 ml bottles is gone. The high recovery vials are great for small amount of oils first time experience with them but this vial Oudamber sent me the Yunnan is great.[Ouddict.com] Oud Reviews

Chinese oils are amongst my favorite and Yunnan 2003 is an amazing example. Your nice and enthusiastic review prompted me to wear it again and it's even better than I remembered. Thank you!

Your post about Yunnan2003, is a great example about one of the aspects of Oud oil. It is so complex, that sometimes you might set it aside, but during another application fall in love. I have had numerous oils that did not wow me in the beginning, but they are like priceless gems right now. Also, appreciation of Oud is more complicated than a swipe-'n-sniff. I still assert that Oud appreciation is a Fine Art, and that physical and mental preparation is necessary to experience it fully.
