Does anyone know of an oil with the sour note that I smell in aged Kalakassi and Kanaam. Is this note present in Ajmal Masterpiece?
Ajmal Masterpiece and 80 years old Kalakassi are very different oils they smell nothing alike.

Ajmal Masterpiece has very earthy smell and like the Indian wood itself burning smell.

And the 80 years old Kalakassi is very balsamic oil.

At least that’s what I smell, my Masterpiece is what currently is out now, and the Kalakassi is old formula edition.

I've never smelled those but I think I detect some sour notes in FO Champi Intensa.

I received my sample of Ceen thanks a lot al shareef! Theres been variety of Chinese oils on the market recently mainly from Ensar. Chinese exclusive for me is a amazing oil with a real oriental depth & a scent profile which really isn't found in many oils. When i uncapped Ceen and i sniffed the first oil that came to my mind was kyara koutan! This oils boasts the kyara note from start to finish and Ceen is right there next to it! I'm going to sit with both oils side by side and see whats going on. There is that continuous woody bitterness which i associate with the kyara note along with herbs and spices and a shed load of old wood. i'm not great at writing reviews but this oil is one of the more special offerings from al shareef!

Habz786, I don't own kyara koutan, but I do Ceen. It is a beautiful oil. I agree with kyara/kinam note. Great release by Al Shareef.

Feel Oud Mai Bo Rai - this is in keeping with many of Feel-oud's recent soaked Thai offerings. It is a Thai oil with a touch of funk in the top note. It has some of the notes of Al Shareef's Khulood without smelling exactly like it. I would say this is a decent multilayered and somewhat "challenging" oud, for those who like the funk and fermented aspects of oud. For me personally, I like the unsealed floral / honey / spicy stuff a little better but I am DEFINITELY not saying this is a lesser oil. I actually think this oud is more in keeping with the old-school scent that people look for when looking for a traditional oud. Seems like a good deal and probably something someone would like if they were tired of bubble-gum Thai stuff. Thanks for the sample, Adam!

I also recently applied the Black Durian again. To me, it seems like the oud used for that infused oil was a nice one. I keep getting unexpected whiffs of earthy, spicy notes even a whole day after applying the oil. Nice stuff!

  1. Oud hasi I get the sample from a friend I really enjoy this incense classic Hindi I hope can find same that oil anyone try it ?

jalil is website but closed from long time

"Yamin" (Feel Oud) - This one is totally delightful - if you like sweet, floral, kinamic type ouds. If you've tried "Ketenangan" (AA) or "Kinamantan" (EO) then "Yamin" is in the similar style. Kinamantan from EO is the more aged product, but Yamin is in the same ballpark.. I'm surprised I haven't read more about it on the forums - I imagine with some aging Yamin will be spectacular.. Both Ketenangan and Kinamantan have more of a Borneo character than Yamin, with that piercing sharpness of Borneos, whereas Yamin has a decadent softness more like a Cambodi or Malaysian..

It is already very smooth and deep - almost like a baby Purple Kinam (EO) type oil - will age bring it to the heights of Purple Kinam? That is the question - so many young fresh oils by Feel Oud, Agar Aura, and others - how much improvement happens with aging?

I will like to give my many thanks to Oudabmerlove, for helping me to try one of this China oud oils like the Yunnan 2003 that I ask him about if he is willing to split like little bit of his oil so I can try it without paying the full bottle price.

Well I was very nicely surprised when with the many free gifts he sent me, come also his last drop of the KZ85

Oil that I thought will never be able to try.

Thanks again Oudambe, and looks I will have a busy week.

Will post it here about Yunnan 2003 and KZ85 later what I think, when I get to know the oils.

Oudhasi had some nice stuff... sandalwood billets, really tangy green Indonesian oud, rich Hindi types. Wonder what happened!?
