Don't have an answer on how one makes a thin oil thicker Renton, but with Frankincense E.O. it doesn't really last all that long, much nicer if you use it with a diffuser. Patchouli, at least the one I have from Sage is very thick but also doesn't really project all that much, I use it occasionally when I'm using bakhoor with charcoal.
Ahh yes. I used to use frankincense in the diffuser but you are losing the anti depressant and anti anxiety and sedative-like effects of the frankincense compound called incensole and incenseole acetate. So, if I feel a little anxious or whatever I use a little frankincense, well used to, I need to get those black charcoals again just for frankincense, running out of the Japanese style silver coal, but for frankincense and bakhoor the self igniting coals are the best hands down IMO.

If you can recommend me a better self lighting coal for incense than SWIFT LITES (they seem to only last 1 hour from first ignition, so if you leave it till its fully ashy you only get really 35-40 mins MAX and they seem to only do good for the first 10-15 mins with some agarwoods used on them with a mica. If you have a link to a better self igniting coals like I see people using self igniting coals for some agarwood and its fully ashy and nearly falling part but the agarwood is still bubbling and giving off decent to huge amounts of smoke... is there a better option to SWIFT LITES?

So most patchouli and frankincense E.Os are watery, how do you make it so you can wear them like oud? Put a lot of patchouli oil in some kind of thick carrier oil? What is the best carrier oil to use?
I wouldn’t say most are Watery but if you have some that are you could put a ball roller on instead of a swiping stick

I wish I had a better recommendation man, the ones I have are, I think are called Three Kings, I got them literally from the grocery store international food aisle, not the most premium offering but most of the time I'm running through my giant incense stick collection 😅 If you have a Tobacconist nearby I'm sure they stock charcoals for the Shisha/Hookah user, I would imagine but never actually checked any out. Most Middle Eastern grocers will also have some selection of charcoal.

Just got this and placed my order with @SULAYM yesterday, great service, and great smelling oils so far, just got them and smelled them out the bottle, the green dragon is definitely kinamic!!!

EDIT: These oils (except green dragon as that is a real CK oil, I believe steam distilled because it smells like real high quality clean CK, and has real kinamic notes POSSIBLY similar to the Brunei Kyara oil I have if not more, but thats just me smelling it out the bottle... I bet me saying that will make people rush and buy it and I will get left with nothing and wont be able to get atleast a 1g bottle haha 😆, dont take my word for it yet though, I am wearing it tomorrow and will give my real first impression then, I am not even 100% it is steam distilled but I am pretty sure it is, just a hunch) are all wild btw. Oh and yeah, the little bottles are all free samples, incredible service at SULAYM, really, a 0.2-0.25g free sample???? of 3 different high quality Ouds? Cant get any better!!!

Such generosity! I wonder what will happen if I order his Mysore. Only issue is shipping is usually quite expensive.

Looking forward to your reviews!

mesOUD samples have landed, thank you @mesOUD

Off the cap, all three smell similar to each other on my nosing...green with a profile similar to Agar Aura's oud oils. I wonder how it will develop as the transition based on previous experience could be not much as well.

What an experience.

3 completely different profiles. You're assuming all that based off smelling them from the cap ?

I think when you are relatively new to oud it's hard to sort out the differences.

It's funny but you beat me to it oudycodone I was halfway through a post saying that those three oils have pretty different profiles that would be more obvious when applied to skin or clothing.

I can see haikou and pursat seeming vaguely akin from the cap only in that these are both smooth sugary / sweet oils. The Maleka is a bit more zesty / tangy / toothy but is also sinensis and quite sugary.

Not assuming, sharing my own experience.

Informative and understanding, I'm waiting to see how it develops on skin first.
Wear them on skin. Oils open up with your body's chemistry and heat

Enjoy them! 🙂
Thanks Mick! Where and how do you usually apply these oils to experience them?

I like them at the top of my hand and I put either a few swipes or some dots (usually swipes but start with 2-3 dots) then I get my pinky and, VERY GENTLY, kinda make a shape out of it so I can move my head when smelling and the movement makes the strength (I think) of the scent stronger, it does something anyway the movement of my head. Or you can just put it on your wrist (1-2 dots) and dab it softly with your finger.

In the kodo tradition you first symbolically "listen" to the incense with your ear, and then turn your head to bring the old schnozz in line with the action. I have always suspected there was some physical reason for doing this - that it was about enhancing perception literally and not just a formality. Sounds a little bit like what you were describing if I read it right

Yeah, you are right, with oils I can wear headphones and still get the scent just as strong with them off, but with heating kyara and woods, funnily enough, they are weaker with headphones on, so when I heat woods (especially kyara and high end woods) I take my headset off, and I can smell them 10x better... I have been thinking the same thing as you for a while about this.

I hear ya & I was genuinely asking that question cus smelling from the cap or bottle is an inaccurate read & doesn't really tell you much. Always apply on skin , you'll be surprised how different it smells from the bottle.

Perhaps I took it the wrong way too, but yes I will apply on skin and see how it goes.
