Mysuru No.1 by CraftOud made from Wild Mysore Black Meat sandalwood:

This is the wild black meat that Dr. Prasun put on his Instagram, clearly high quality wild Mysore Black meat (and he is from India so much easier to get that type of quality)

I also ordered it at the start of this week (Monday ofc) and it came today (Friday), DHL tracking said it would take 13th of August.. SCORE!!!

I also asked him what oil on the site was made using this wood and he said this one Mysuru No.1

Finally pulled the trigger on Brunei Kyara from Taiwan Sifu (E-Oud). I been dying to smell this one ever since I learned about that whole Ensar/Taiwan mess.

So most patchouli and frankincense E.Os are watery, how do you make it so you can wear them like oud? Put a lot of patchouli oil in some kind of thick carrier oil? What is the best carrier oil to use?

i apply all my oils straight. i never dilute because it takes away from its natural drying phases. i usually go for the back of my wrist now days cause it lasts longest, and i havent had any photosensitivity issues. patchouli seems to last a long time just a drop rubbed into the skin tbh. it has a complex dry down like other full bodied oils like vetiver or sandalwood!

I picked up a Yamadamatsu - Kioka heater from Tezumi. Now I will finally be able to enjoy my aloeswood without resorting to heating on a stovetop on aluminum foil. Apparently the heater is going to come with a few pieces of sandalwood, aloeswood and pressed incense. I’m excited to use the heater with the incense sampler from @mesOUD

Unbelievable thing happened today. My giant sample order of ouds that was sent out 4 months ago has finally arrived!! I had accepted fully that I would never get this package, and that these oils would remain a mystery to me. What a surprise to see them finally arrive at my doorstep. Lots of bangers in here and many oils in here from distillers I’ve never tried before. This is going to be an exciting couple of weeks testing them out. The oils received are

From a brother overseas. They were scheduled to arrive a couple weeks after ordering but one thing or another happened and the package never left the origin country according to USPS. No fault to the seller of course. Never changed to “lost” so I guess it was never officially missing, but I assumed they were gone for good haha. So glad I was wrong.

@RisingPhoenix 's 2023 Musk Rose in the house, with two samples, 2023 Mysore D&B and 2020 Osmanthus. Thank you for the samples.

First impressions are, "I've smelled this before!". Side by side with Elixir Attar's Ghaliya Rosarie, they are similar. I'd say that they are siblings, Musk Rose is the brother with sweet and something more dark/heavy rose compared to Ghaliya Rosarie that is light and airy rose.

How was purple purple?

Deep incense, almost smoke-like on application and a nice floral but mostly dark jammy fruits shortly after and on the dry down. The "purple" note does hang on the dry down for me, just lingering. Excellent oil at the price.

1984 was the star of the order though. It punches in so many directions, note wise, and the scent bubble it puts me in for like first hour is delectable.
