It's a herbal, soapy, floral fragrance. Originally released by Swiss Arabian partnering up with Givaudan. Usually what's been referred to is the green version of this scent, confusing because there's also a black (which is similar to a popular Arabic fragrance theme let's call it, called Shay Oud) and a white (which if I recall correctly goes in the direction of Silver Mountain Water).

I had to order a couple of bottles and some samples from mesoud.
castoreum, cedar co2, cedar mesoud, galbanum, costus, spikenard, labdanum, and oakmoss

vert interested in the galbanum and costus. I am under the impression that authentic costus oil is not that easy to find. It’s a really weird material, but is a killer fixative for some florals. Initial impression is kind of like hair that has not been washed in a day or two. Some find it reminds them of dog hair. But like many weird smelling animalic things, costus interacts with floral fragrances in some surprising ways.

I have a tiny bottles costus oil, but mainly use the tinctures i prepared because i have not until now found a source to replace the oil if i use it in a blend.

Your efforts/products are greatly appreciated mister mesoud!

Very satisfiying answer to a potentially confusing topic. Jannat al Firdaus is probably one of the most well known fragrance oils in the entire Muslim world along with Majmua. It is an emerald green oil probably because of the usage of green ruh khus as the main ingredient. Folks refer to this genre as “Pilgrim’s perfume” in Turkey, as pilgrims used to gift small vials to their loved ones when they return from the holy visit(Hajj) to Mecca. In my opinion, black version is called Shay oud because Anfasic Dokhoon (somehow a premium arabic brand) released a fragrance under this name. There are at least 10 fragrances out there in the market which more or less smell the same. (Soleil de Jeddah, Nur, Oud Maknoon, Shuhrah and many more). Honestly I used to like this profile a lot, which is a nice combination of tobacco, honey, osmanthus and leather. Gradually, I lost interest in these kind of fragrances but still remember it as a nice oriental smell.

I have parcels coming from Canada, Australia, the UK and Japan... Yikes.
Incense from Japan, mainly more Minori-en Kyara Ryugen
Ambergris from the UK for unspecified and only hazily articulated future scent experiments.
Hyraceum, labdanum and random things I talked myself into from the Apothecary's garden up in Canada.
And some CK oils from Grandawood in Oz.
Hoping they all make it okay!

Look forward to hearing about your results! pinon seems like a great place to start. I made a fresh Ponderosa pine needle oil once that was really an amazing fragrance very different from wood or resin oil. I think the yield was pretty good as well. Might be worth trying.

One down 3 to go I just received my Al-Shareef order, man that came fast and with extra goodies two samples of Bakhoor Aden smells wonderful at room temp and Al-Sheikh also amazing at room temperature but let's not forget the oils Khalouq, Yasmeen, Siam, Jumaana and Leen.

Those prices almost seem too good to be true - hope they turn out to be the real deal.

I ordered some oils for perfume making and am awaiting their arrival… more natural vanillin, biotech santalol,
ambrette seed absolute, coriander seed, cilantro, bergamot, labdanum, orange blossom and more. Mainly just restocking. Sources are Eden and Liaison-Carbone

She is a known Vietnamese agarwood hunter, and sells old Kyara on etsy, she sold something to JK not long ago she told me, so I am sure it is the real deal. Those were the pics she took, and she took pics of the ant wood as well but that isnt as beautiful looking haha.

All right, that sounds great!
