Brunei - Kymya

A resinous full spectrum, yet clean-pristine Bruneian oil. Upon initial application you’re greeted with the terpenic, vaporous, medicinal character of Brunei Kyara, that controversial word ‘kinamic’ springs to mind, I have no other explanation for the aroma. If you know you know 😉

This oil isn’t green-jungle-camphorated it has more in common with a deep incensey spicy vintage Malay profile. The colour association that comes to mind is purple-red.
The oils develops beautifully into the mid note showcasing a white floral tonality along with a cooling oceanic breeze, the type of aquatic note you’d expect from Sri Lankan & Indonesian Gyrinops.
The long lasting dry down is heavenly, a slab of Oud resin, a deep honeyed nutty sweetness, warm spices, dry woody incense, hints of vanilla & jammy fruits.

An expensive oil, but well worth it! High grade oils such as these, I only apply a dot on my forearm & giving me many hours of enjoyment. I usually have my nose glued to my arm like a crazy person 😂

It's nice to see you back!
I am (in)patiently waiting for mine to settle for a few days before I take the cap off but what I could detect from a closed cap reminded me of Anas straight away. Cannot wait to try it on skin!!

Today:
Kinabalu Gold 2 from Alhind Oud.
Such a beautiful blue green opening. Gets me every time. Then it settles to a pristine agarwood aroma. Hard to describe other than to say it's a wonderful oil. My complements to @AlHind Oud.
Thanks buddy ! You're gonna get slapped with VK as soon as you get it on skin lol Red berry , cinnamon & mint lying on a bed of purple florals was the first thing that came to mind.

A dab of Yavuz from @mesOUD - bigger dab this time. There is a whole lot going on here - hits like a rich sweet full bubble of sweet/bitter honey oud resin, with a handful of different smooth woody vibrant and dry-powdery layers that shift in and out of focus going on just beneath that. Beautiful sweet balanced and captivating - not sure how to describe what I smell - I need a little more time to come up with specific scent connections.

If you look at the whole Mesoud process and materials it is clear this is something that's fit for kings it's ridiculous that I've even had a chance to smell it - this material is way the heck out of my league - fantastic stuff.

Al Shareef Oils

Aurangzeb: Aged 50 year old Hindi. Wow. So smooth and well rounded. Addictive. Bright. Real gem.

Arsalan: another wild hindi that’s priced very aggressively. The dry down here is so pleasant slightly smoky leathery full of resin. This oil shows the full profile of Hindi wood that isn’t hidden under funk and fermentation.

Malek Al Qadeem: regal. Cherries. Old smooth woody resin. Really complex oil. Top top. Doesn’t smell anything like any other Filipino oil. Not even close.

Every "malek" oil i have been lucky enough to sniff has lived up to the name. @Al Shareef Oudh premium oils are yet another example of oils that are way out of my league, and smell fit for kings. When i sniff these I feel like i am test driving a Maserati - a little taste of another world! The key is to be able to enjoy your toyota corolla after the test drive.

Wow!! That is a statement! And that is so true. Once you are in higher leagues of oils or attars it is difficult to enjoy the lower quality oils with that same enthusiasm.

Awesome!! That is what you want in an oud oil. Shifts upon shifts and turns. Crazy!

@AlHind Oud Firdous I Sri Lanka making my nose happy. Beautiful oil with some characteristics that I associate with Borneo oils. Beautiful saturated resinous.

Yes I 100% agree. They really do evoke the image of royalty.
Al Malek Al Maliyzi is the finest Malaysian oil in my collection, I cherish it. Al Malek Al Kalakassi is another supreme oil, it’s unlike every other Hindi I’ve ever tried with its kaleidoscopic array of fruits & that powdery, chalky, strangely clean barnyard top note. Unfortunately, they are out of my league also. I only own 0.5g of both. I’d love to be able to apply them frequently, but there’s also a certain beauty in saving them for when the time is right.

After wearing Al Taif 1500 -‘ASAQ for most of the evening, I needed something beautiful, natural & pure to bring me down before bed.
Al Namir - Habz. I’ve mentioned this oil many times since purchasing, but it’s one of the best Oud oils I’ve ever smelt, perfection to my nose!
Dark resinous Oud, purple florals, cherry, warm spices, a touch of green jungle camphor, incense, a hint of musk. The mature, rounded, honeyed Oud resin sweetness is superb, I love the way it develops. A big swipe rubbed into my beard before bed, I will sleep like a baby tonight!

Like a fool, I only purchased 1g. I need at least at Tola of this one 😢
