Attar Aazeen from new house Kashti (0_kashti_0 on instagram). Flowing, voluptuous honeyed jasmine, soaring ambergris and a hint of spices. Very individualistic blend, quite different to other jasmine centred attars I have tried. Can't wait to try more of their stuff!
Just applied this now, very good description! It's a lovely blend, jasmine is shinning through and I detect the sandalwood. the ambergris giving a sheen and polish to it, too

Earlier I'd worn Monarchy of Musk which was nice, but weirdly I didn't get too much of a musky vibe from it, despite having a few bits of grains at the bottom of the vial. I have Imperial Tabac to try too, owned these for ages but just haven't got around to wearing them

Wow! Upon first swipe you could swear that you had just sprayed vintage Azzarro Pour Homme (this is a positive association. APH is an absolute masterpiece, especially in its vintage formulation with actual oakmoss)

You're greeted with shimmering lavender, a bright bergamot and tonka beans. ~30mins later the oud starts to poke its head through and turns the scent on its side, steering away from tradition. They then come back together, melding into something different from most fougeres, but in a great harmony.
In the drydown the soapiness of oakmoss is coming throug. According to the note listing, there's civet in here which i'm struggling to pick up on but it can also impart a soapy kinda smell, civet isn't always dirty as people think. actually, after a longer sniff...yea I'm getting it.
Great job here!

OUD LAB Purple Haze.

I have struggled with attar perfumes. Either the cacophony of the more classical bakhoor like symphonies. Boquets that don't resolve or speak with unity, no accord or musicality, just components. I can't say I've ever appreciated those one flower attars after 3 minutes. They fatigue my brain. But this, that has rose, and yuk, which I usually hate but the elements transcend their parts & combine to form an original voice.

Revisiting my Peyan Bertrand jasmine oils again. I had received a small sample and based on that sample I purchased a larger amount.

It’s a little bit frustrating because the sample was quite unique for an Egyptian Jasmine. Smelled more like it was from India or France and it didn’t have any of the freaking Violet leaf note that seems to be present in most Egyptian oils these days.

The larger bottle I received, however, is not quite the same oil. That’s fine, it took me a while to place the order after smelling the sample (which the vendor had received some unknown time in the past), batches change, and the jasmine oil is still head and shoulders above any others I’ve managed to acquire in the last 10 years, but there is a trace of the infernal violet leaf note that I KNOW does not have to be there. why the violet leaf? I’ve smelled enough Egyptian Jasmine to know that this is not simply a “Terroir” effect.

This is really a top shelf Jasmine oil, and in some ways is a little nicer than the sample that I received but the sample was quite unique, and I wish I had more than a ml of that specific batch. No violet leaf notes, well balanced indole, amazing lifelike jasmine/lilac dry down - truly world class (as far as my little world goes) and I have to make the ml last somehow.

And I need to track down a jasmin oil like the one in the sample. This would be heirloom Jasmine in my opinion.
