tucked in with the jaya qadeem from @Habz786 that my wife ordered for my birthday was a sample of hasna (frangipani & sandalwood) attar... i believe this attar has been discussed here before but WOW, absolute love at first smell. so fresh & dignified & enchanting, i can see this being a signature scent for me. bravo to one of the dons.

AlMishal Oud - Misk Aqor

Contains:
- Luxury Misk
- Amouage Suede Ibri
- Amouage Rose Aqor
- Amouage Oud Ulya

I’m getting sweetness, leather, oriental flower 🌺, Frankincense, Sandalwood, woodiness to name a few of the notes.

Smells absolutely gorgeous.

Today was a cool overcast day so i went for a skin mukh of: a dab of ASO’s Muschouli underneath a drop of TOT Tarakan. Very pleasing together with some amplified sweet camphor and an added herb & spice blend (that almost feels shamamatul-like) in the opening. I can feel the effects of both the patchouli and the musk, both feeling very much at home with the earthy smoke of tarakan, both acting as perfect little boosters to the smooth but complex nature of the oud. The boost in camphor and spice/herb opening is perfectly contrasted by the sweet earthy musk that gets a beautiful, powdery, resinous aspect along with its dry-down. Really remarkable together, so enjoyable!

Orris and frankincense CO2 are already on my mind. I just received a bright green Hojari CO2 from @Oudique but it smells more like the actual resin, just clearer. I have another CO2 that smells like orange juice, lemon peel. Maybe a combo of the two could work

Update Orris germanica butter was added, sandalwood, Jasmine grandiflorum, geranium, ruh khus. Then it was all diluted with a vanilla-civet tincture. Came out amazing, the citrusy fresh notes were extended slightly then the most sexy , oddly diffusive drydown comes. In my mind the opening and drydown should clash and be but they didn’t at all

I don’t know what’s up with me and my love story for misks these days but I’m enjoying it while it lasts. Before I go back to the big guns of oud and blends. This Misk is like the rest. Nice, sweet, creamy, and soft. Given it has Mirage blend in it but I’m only detecting the Misk. Beautiful though.

The Misk I’m referring to is the ultra low-cost sweet, soapy, clean, fruity, creamy kind. Has nothing to do with the animalic Musk as we know it. Misk can come in different scents like berrry, grape, lemon, orange…etc…and come in different colors blue, red, purple, pink…etc.

I’ve taken a liking to it recently because Bourhan Oud would blend some of his outrageous Ouds with it to create something unique. And also use Henry Jacques with the Misk so something can be offered to the ladies. I’ve found that even when blended with these other ouds or blends, the Misk still retains its sweetness and overpowers (slightly) the Henry Jacques.

Misk is also used interchangeably in Arabic to mean Animalic musk, and sweet Misk.

Lupus & Vega - Shamama Agarwood

Time for bed for me. This relaxes my mind through its warm and rich smell. It’s deep and luxurious. Smells like the finest Mysore sandalwood, spices , and oud. Beautiful.

HJ Jabrin.

This one will take more wears to figure out and appreciate.

Spiky soapy rush that once dispersed turns into the glowing brightness of leather kept alive with roses and a dry, slightly animalic oud chip on a subitism. Ambery-incensy qualities in a very refined, almost imperceptible sense. Strong, maybe even overpowering experience if I don’t pat the perfume across my body to disperse it. Quickly moves into soft projection like an attar and more so for the application method that spreads it thin. Beautifully persistent longevity. I'm somehow reminded of Amouage Tribute because of the treatment of leather and an underlying greenness, even if the Amouage relies upon super-mentholated tobacco and woody, synthy-vetiver in the base.

Habz Adghal - dense, green, bitter, resin incense. Breaks out into tantalizing green sweetness from the sandal and Tibetan musk. Before, like all wild things, it disappears into the foliage again. Just the way I like it.

SQ Shamamatul Amber.

This has been my favorite SQ acquisition by a long shot. It smells extremely well made. At first, I was thrown off by the savory, leathery, oily, saffronic elements when I was expecting a sweet, caramel amber, but over time this has just become such a wonderful base note for layering with anything from oud to different perfumes. It literally layers with anything I've thrown on, which I attribute in part to the likely oakmoss in it and utter lack of sweetness. Do I want to make any fragrance deeper and darker while introducing a light layer of leathery salt? YES.

Homemade - Cuvee Royale d'Oud

This is essentially a blend of blends from Bourhan Oud which brings together two compositions that sat at opposite ends of the spectrum. AlQawiyya was rich, sweet, and unmistakably Henry Jacques-heavy, while Mukhallat AlDeera leaned darker and more barren. Built around sandalwood chunks, Ruh Khus, Prachin Oud, and other bitter earthy materials. Blended together, they seem to correct each other beautifully. The sweetness becomes more moderate, the bitterness softens, and what comes out is a balanced, deep, and addictive scent with real oomph. Wearing this to work today. So aromatic, I wish I had 2 tolas of this.

I feel like a get a big waft of whale blubber and it’s fantastic. Ambergris-y, caramel-y goodness. Then I start to pick up the notes of the HJ. The Ouds are up there when we are talking about levels. Deep, rich, thick, and in harmony with the HJ aldehydic, sweet, floral notes and ambergris. I can’t overstate how well the ambergris smells. This was a good batch. The rest of the ingredients are just the icing on the cake.

Oh, and Mishaal from Bourhan Oud is coming up with a MOAB on the 26th. “Mother of All Blends” of 2026. Stay tuned for that one.

Man, I am really kicking myself for not buying it back then. I should have gotten at least 15 ml of both of his fragrances. It is honestly one of the best PPs I’ve ever smelled in terms of complexity. It is deep and even tough I smelled it a couple of times I still can’t figure it out. Green, reddish brown, spicy, woody and somehow throughout the whole process airy. It always seems to change. It always leaves a different impression on me or should I say on my soul. These few drops are all I have left.

I don’t know why but lately I am craving dark coffee, Tabaco scents so much and his 2 AM sounds incredible. I watched a review of it on YouTube, I think someone posted the link here somewhere. Bold masculine unapologetic coffee, oud and most importantly authentic Tabaco.

I hope he continues to make beautiful blends in the future

SQ Royal Gazelle from Fwakher.

This one has a strong grape note unless I spread about well the attar, at which point some really lovely incensey-ashy notes come forward. It definitely has an old school black musk scent profile, and what I love most about it is the shaving cream accord that is nested inside it. I've been layering it with some lower cost Cambodis and Hindis to great effect.
