Burma Ember 92 - Faizal Privee (Sample)

This is an amazing dark full bodied Oud. It has notes of wood, minerals, cheese, and nuts. It doesn’t evaporate like Malay Ultimae but it stays on the skin projecting its beautiful scent from where it emanates. It has fair spillage and projection. I’m use to a Burmese being heavily minerally and blunt. This is more on the cheese and sharp side. Which is not saying anything negative it’s just what I picked up.

I give this oud a 8/10.

Ceylon Royale - Faizal Privee (Sample)

This is green full bodied Oud. I’m getting citrusy lime notes, cream, vanilla. This is an Oud on the lighter side but don’t be fooled. It packs a nice spice punch. I can tell that if I had more it might open its features for more analysis. But I’ll have to do with the amount I’ve been gifted. This is great as it’s different but quite close to other Ceylanis I’ve tried. Silage and projection are more to the low side.

I give it a 8.5/10

Oud Tawwain - Faizal Privee (Sample)

This is a lovely oil with more than just a minerally scent. This one has some cumin as a profile. As well as walnuts. The projection and spillage is quite high. I’m getting the scent without trying to get a whiff. It’s lovely and therapeutic. I love it because it’s a different profile than what I’m used to and a little dab goes a long way. Glad I’m associating it with Ayurvedic properties.

I give this a 9/10

Viet Sublime - Faizal Privee (Sample)

This a brown clear medium bodied Oud. The top is slight varnishy anti septic. The middle and bottom notes are dominated by wood and nuts. I would expect a Vietnamese to have this profile. Which is quite enjoyable for some. As for my personal preference I have been pivoting away from this particular profile in search of more bold scents. But I won’t take away that this one is of high quality. Silage and projection is fair.

I give this a 7.5/10

Irian Floral - Faizal Privee (Sample)

This is a full bodied dark Oud. Immediately my senses are on overdrive. This is satisfying to apply and smell. I’m getting sweet minty notes. Accompanied by floral and slight varnish notes. I’m also getting wood and slight nut notes but they are not dominating at all. It is a great Oud to wear easily. I’m very happy I ended this sampling session with a bang.

I give this a 10/10

I have to give this one another visit… I've smelled it a couple of times but I'm still getting to know it. I had some very good first impressions however, a nice representative of this variety of oud!

Malay Ultimae - Faizal Privee (Sample)

It has a beautiful medium bodied dark shiny color. The first inhalation I positive notes of anti-septic which I love so much. Almost like almond essence. It’s a highly desirable note. Now it’s evolving to maraschino cherries. This is a scent of nirvana for me. I definitely would want this in my collection. The silage and projection are fair. This is a connoisseur’s oil.

I give it 10/10.
Have you tried anything else from them?
Have heard nothing but great things

Just added 3g of this to my collection. It reminds me of some other aged Ouds in its class and refinement - along say… Oud Royale (1982)

I started with a sampler, then 1g…. Now afraid I’ll check the site and see if ”out of stock” so… thank you @Faizal_p !

Khazanah – Fuze Kuala Lumpur

Smooth, clean, and artisanally distilled from wild Malaysian agarwood, Khazanah stands out right away. It opens with a creamy, silky texture and a very subtle camphorous tone, touched by light, blonde woods. As it begins to bloom on skin, I pick up gentle nuances of honey and vanilla, green-stemmed white florals, and hints of mossy earth. There's an almost floral lift to the mids, but it stays grounded—never sweet, never fruity. Just well-balanced and quietly refined.

The drydown moves into deeper territory—resinous, smoky, and full of soft, smoldering incense. There's a slightly medicinal thread, but it’s clean and modern, never veering into funk or barn. Performance is above par, lingering with grace. Honestly, one of the more polished and multifaceted Malaysian ouds I’ve come across.

You put me on to their Prestige Series of perfumes. If I like it I will go on to the Black Label Series, and then the Ouds. Nice catch.! Sounds phenomenal.

Luxury Hindi Oud - Amiral AlTeeb

This is an appealing Hindi as it’s also a muattag. It’s dark red but clean and clear. It’s medium-full bodied. As you would expect it exhibits the classical Hindi notes like sweetness, slight barn, Smokey and woody. But I’m getting notes of figs and dates also. A very good Oud.

I give it a 9/10

Royal Cambodian Muattag - Mohammed AlQurashi

I have qualms with this oil. What it presented to me was not a royal aged Cambodian. More like a low market new Cambodian oil. It lacks any of the characteristics of a Cambodi. I have an old Cambodian I bought from a vendor just starting out. It’s the benchmark for all Cambodians for me. That’s that.

This one lacked the buttery Smokey, woody, nutty profile of a cambodi. Muattag!? I felt nothing of the sorts. The perfume house is well known. But I’ve had enough Cambodi to know this was for the rookies. I did not enjoy its scent or feeling on me.

I give this a 1/10

Sweet Cambodian Oud - Sokkat AlTeeb

I had initial doubts about this. Cambodian that was “Sweet” and from Sokkat AlTeeeb? I had to try this.

It’s a clear brownish-red medium bodied Oud. The top note is sweet like honeycomb. Then it has floral, candy apple, and tea notes in the middle, and has a delicate Oud base note . It made me change my mind that Cambodians can only be heavy, thick , and rich.

This one is intricate yet smooth. This Oud is from the forests of Koh Kong.

I give it a 10/10

Ceylani Muattag - Oud Stories

I’ve had this one for a while and forgot to review it.

It’s a lightly colored medium bodied Oud. The top note is slightly citrusy and has tea notes. The middle has a woody note. Although I think I enjoyed it initially when I got it, I’m unable to enjoy it now. Because I have more potent Ouds. This is nice if you like light Ouds. I would have thought storing it would make it much more dynamic. But it seems to have retained the benign qualities it started out with without developing a more complex profile during ta’ateeg.

I give it 6.5/10

Green Kyara Oud Oil - KyaraShrine (Etsy)

This lovely oil was made by traditional steam distillation method using Kynam from China Maoming.

It’s a light brown ultra clear color that’s light bodied. The notes I’m getting are tea leaves, soft smoke kynam, honey, and vanilla. There’s something special about this one that is different than other Chinese made oils. This one has a joie de vivre about it. It’s more complex and has a nice therapeutic scent to it. Although I’m not a light bodied seeking individual, this one wins.

I recommend this if you enjoy burning some Chinese Kynam. This is it in oil form.

I give it a 8.5/10

Special Indonesian Oud oil - AlMokhlef Oud

This is a dark reddish brown full bodied Oud. The first scent I’m getting is berries, bananas, spice, and a base of Oud. This one is on the fruitier profile side. I’m getting some wood now as the oil seeps into my skin whilst retaining the fruitty qualities. There is some slight nut I’m picking up but not too major. I like this Oud and have managed to get near the end of the bottle without reviewing it.

I give this a 9/10

Special Sumatra Oud - AlMokhlef Oud

It has a light brown color and medium bodied. The first whiff leads to the scent of varnish or anti-septic along with wood and a slight smokiness. The middle note is of grapes and avocado. The base has that woody intensity and nuttiness. I prefer this over the Indonesian Oud.

I give this a 9/10

Zamarad 2 - Habzoud

This is an incredible Oud. It’s a clear green-tinged Oud that behaves like a full bodied Oud - which it does. It has slight varnishy and mint notes at the top. Then comes the nutiness in the middle.

I’ve also forgotten about this Oud. It doesn’t give off tea notes like other ouds. That’s because it’s a bonified full bodied Oud. It’s earthy with vegetation notes, and has scents of banana and avocado. I love this Oud as it’s deceivingly great but keeps to itself the magic that lies within it.

I give this a 10/10

I am testing several Oudique oils today. Here's some of my impressions:

Burma Kalakassi

This smells like a CO2 extraction of agarwood resin. It doesn't smell like an oud to me. An oud is the result of the distillation of agarwood, so the process changes the agarwood oil. That's one of the reasons why oud is more expensive than agarwood. If you like the CO2 profile of agarwood, you'll like Burma Kalakassi. I get a mint note, but not the fruits and spice.
5/10

Kanbojia

According to their website, I should be getting an opening note of "rich earthiness of wet tobacco." I don't know what wet tobacco is supposed to smell like, but I don't get any earthiness, which is a plus in my book. What I do get is a wonderful, thick, semi-sweet molasses in the opening. This smells like Cambodi oud (sweet, but too light on the fruits, heavy on the syrup). No barnyard, thank goodness, resinous, like warming myrrh. Very nice. Again, this smells like undistilled agarwood, but it's an oud because it's more refined than agarwood EO.
7/10

Rinsho

Now this is good. It opens with a strong dried cherry note, unlike their website, I don't get diesel, which is good because I don't think that would smell nice. I detect under the cherry a pure amber, and tree resin. I like this one a lot, and I think it's a good intro to their line because it's a crowd-pleaser. Use caution as it is intense and very strong, which I like. This one might just join my collection.
8/10

I'm in olfactory fatigue. So far, so good. I do wish these came in 3ml amounts, but the prices are more affordable than most. I'll post a couple more later on
