I don't know if this counts as a laugh or not, gave me a laugh when I thought about it.
I used to play some of these simulation games like Plant Tycoon and Fish Tycoon, where are you basically have to run a business breeding and raising animals kind of a simulated plant nursery or fish store, and you have to breed the fish and the plants to achieve these amazing varieties that sell for lots of money etc. You have to set prices and run a little market and you have to keep your plants and fish alive, expand your facilities and so on as you make profit.
Are there any Ouddict game developers out there? Who is going to make Agarwood Tycoon??
it's a SIM… You start out with a handful of seeds, some CK grafts, a bit of cash, and a small patch of land, which you have to somehow turn into a profit over a five year period. As you accumulate money you can invest in land and equipment to create a thriving operation.
There's a local craftsman who you can hire to build you a still once you save up enough money. Copper smith, glass blower... each has their rates, various upgrades and components that can be used to improve your process.
There's like a farmer's market where you can try to sell your harvests. A big city nearby where you can really make bank once you can afford a truck…
Employment agency where you can find workers to help manage repetitive tasks that get too time-consuming in the game.
Most importantly you have to choose a path… It's like red dead redemption. There's a dark side and there's a light side and you accumulate karma. You can totally make bank by committing to one path or the other.
On the dark side, you can buy barrels of pthalates and synthetic diluents and try selling oils with different small percentages of essential oil fractions or synthetic diluent. Each time you sell an oil there is a certain probability of a GCMS test - and with each test there is a certain probability that your oil will fail depending on how much you've stretched it.
You also have a choice to market to rubes or to connoisseurs, each of which has its long-term consequences on your profitability and future options…
You can try low margin high volume sales, or marking things way the hell up and accepting a smaller customer base.
Your character has some kind of reputation which affects the probabilities of your stuff being tested, and impacts the amount of haggling that you have to do to actually make a sale.
you have to select different varieties of agarwood, can crossbreed, and set harvest cycles that enable you to turn a profit while giving the trees enough time to mature…
I will play the #%*€ out of this game if you make it.
