.) EO Oud Ertugrul - I know there’s tons of lovers of this oil out there, but I don’t get it? Maybe it’s me, but I find it a nice mid level Borneo with a hint of Kinam. BUT… it does not last on me. Literally seems like it lasts about 2 hours at most, then it’s pretty much gone. Smells nice but not one I would buy.
it's last long on me strong as well pretty good oils all of them(named-oud legends),but price as you mentioned $$$ i'll never pay this much, glad i purchased only sample to check.

A swipe of imperial oud super hoi last night, still smelling good this morning. Love this oil - I have no idea what the details of its story are, but it hits the spot for me as much as anything I’ve experienced. Always looking for another gram or two 🙂

Very Berry Thai Cherry V2. I like this oud, wearing a thai after a long time and what a good way to start after a break!

Edit: I'm in middle phase and I'm getting bitter sweet notes similar to the one from Laotion oil.
I'm also really enjoying this oil. It's longer-lasting and more complex than I suspected at first smell. I'm looking forward to examining it further.

Don’t get me wrong I like the oil, but I would
place AA Royal Malinau, Feel Oud Malinau Extreme, and Borneo 3000 well above it on the enjoyment scale..

Tonight I am on a beach vacation and am enjoying some Blue Lotus. I find Jasmine and Blue Lotus to be better “beach” scents than Oud. Ensars Blue Lotus is very nice for the price. Also, I brought along a bit of Scents of Knowing (Jack Chaitmans) Blue Lotus Absolute. Whew is it powerful. I am really thinking this shouldn’t be worn neat. It has a MAJOR mind effect. It’s borderline intoxicating. Wild stuff. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention @RisingPhoenix Thai Blue Lotus Attar as well. Masterfully blended… and as I am about to post this I realized this is Oud of the day and I just talked about Lotus. Whoops.. 🤷

Stumbled upon an old sample of ASO yunnan - a drop or so in a tester bottle and somewhat thickened up.

Interesting oil, rich scent, very oudy.
My nose is overloaded but at the moment I’m getting some sweet crassna like notes over a complex heart with a little funk. I would guess a longer soak? Very addictive satisfying oud scent.

Melawi Kalbar - Rising Phoenix

This is the second oud in JK’s Vacuum distillation series coming out of his distilling operation in Indonesia. I was sent a sample with my last order and I noticed that JK recently put some up in his shop.

From the applicator, this oil is much more full-bodied than other borneo oils I’ve smelled and notably a tad sweet-smelling. When applied to the skin a subtle cooling “blue” facet awakens with a tropical herbaceous aroma that envelops you. As the oil starts to dry down, you can begin to smell some smokiness. A lot of JK’s newer distillations feature these burning incense notes that usually have both some smokiness and some rich, melting resin. I also get this extremely attractive and notably masculine spicy “core” to this fragrance and you start to really smell it when the tropical rainstorm subsides after the opening. There are some floral tones in this oil. But they aren’t the obvious narcotic white florals or purple florals that you can sometimes find in ouds. The florals are bound in the core of the fragrance. They’re much more subtle (in my opinion) than something like asiki boven from RPP though.

The drydown on this fragrance lasts FOREVER. I could still smell the faintest traces 14 hours after my first application. And the drydown is that spicy core just “cracked open” and subtly wafting. One minute, it’s that smokey incense note and the next, it’s the spice.

Another absolute home run and a unique oil. These vacuum distillations JK is putting out are killer.

Merauke from @Al Shareef Oudh

It seems to me to be a great oil and distinct from the others! Its blonde color is a good indication of what to expect. It's a very clean scent full of sunlight, camphor, seaside cliffs, cedar, Mediterranean mint, balmed leather, and mineral tang.

Some oils have layers and layers of different scents tightly compressed on top of one another. Merauke has a lot more space and breeze between the layers.

The dry down brings you to the top of a seaside mountain, maybe Mt. Fuji. It's a cool, snowy cap with sea breeze. In the distance sits a shrine with flower garlands; incense; and a small offering of palm sugar. Towards the top is a hardwood, temple arch worn smooth by salt mists and travelers that lean against it and recover before the final summit.

My scent of the day is Sumbawa Seufi from @mesOUD and like the other samples that I've been able to go thru from my order is quality with no discernable off-notes and interesting profile. This one is a Hirta I believe?
It is one of my favs too,it is walla pata dear means
From Gyrinops versteegii spice

A stressful day at work almost always calls for a big swipe of a traditional Hindi in the evening. The profile has a soothing / grounding effect. As much as I love Malaysian, Cambodi or Kinamic Vietnamese / Chinese oils, Hindi Oud is at the top for me.

Zuhayr - Al Shareef Oudh, one of the best Hindi oils in my collection. ASO is the master of this style. What he does with Indian / Bangladeshi wood is like no other!
Zuhayr is funky in the top note yet not overly fermented, wonderfully judged. Dry fruits, leather, white florals, herbs all reveal themselves complete with the signature Royal ASO Hindi drydown - a rich ambery sweetness, worn leather & tons of sun baked hay.

Mesoud tarakan qadeem arrived! Oh man this oil scratches the oud itch and nicely complements the other oils in my collection. I’ll come up with some adjectives after a little more time with this stuff is smooth and bittersweet in the most delightful way.

I have no idea how this compares to the variety of other oils from this region that have been released over the past 10 years but compared to the oils in my collection from the region- malinau, kalimantan, tarakan, this one stands out as wonderfully rich, appealing, and balanced. I wish I could’ve bought three times as much because this is one I would want to wear often.

It vaguely brings the old oudline kalimantan super ateeq, but you would never confuse the two. i don’t know if the Oudline is tarakan or not. (At one point I was in direct communication with Kamal the owner of Oudline who was kind enough to sell me samples and small bottles of the higher end stuff they don’t market on their website).

Below are some images of the packaging and the bottles - all very carefully put together. Nice use of shrink tubing!

The other bottle is a gram of the Burma - love this it’s like a tastefully hindified (?) sweet crassna. this is the primal kind of crassna that i think Luca Turin must have been smelling for his description in a book I read long ago. If you haven’t smelled oud before this kind of oil smells like some crazy musk/civet/castoreum/ambergris/labdanum concoction… the cambodi ateeq is even more this way.

How a nice description is it dear marco
I think you have to buy more oils and i can add your descriptions to my web😂
For describing i am not good at words, how people have iq,eq etc,i think this is about it,when i get a smell,i saw images about it,every odour every scent has an image in my mind

The sample pack from mesoud inspired me to bring out my other samples to see which they are similar to. Came across this gem - I thought I had used the last drop. ASO Malek al Malayzi. This is sweet nectar of the gods I tell you. Just the perfect balance of notes of the Malaysian ilk. Very “dignified and old” but with that jungle wildness throughout. It has that old Malaysian oud deep tang akin to what I recall smelling in the old oud royale when I got a sniff 15 or whatever years ago. Not equating the toils. This one is richer and more complex and multifaceted and profoundly appealing on a deep level for me.
