mixed 1 swipe of Vanilla and 1 swipe of Maruake from @mesOUD , just wowww, it opened a whole new spectrum of Vanilla Oud combo.
Brother u post to wrong thread
You just made a mukhallat, post it to mukhallat of the day part 😂
Btw this merauke is a fresh oil distilled this year from wild filaria wood,i hope and i see this potential from this oil,it will be a legend when aged well,it is a nice investment

Just arrived for (much needed) vacation today. Swiped a few oils over last few days and wanted to share some things.

1.) EO Oud Ertugrul - I know there’s tons of lovers of this oil out there, but I don’t get it? Maybe it’s me, but I find it a nice mid level Borneo with a hint of Kinam. BUT… it does not last on me. Literally seems like it lasts about 2 hours at most, then it’s pretty much gone. Smells nice but not one I would buy.

2.) Agar Aura Mytikinia 4k — this is an oil which I really like. Had a sweet, tobaccoesque scent which I just love. Wakes me up, makes me happy. A love for sure.

3.) Agar Aura Suka Cita— likely one of my top 5 oils from AA. Lots of density, has a Malay vibe but it’s clearly Sumatran, with a bluish tone that’s amazing. Darker, incensey smokey oil. One I have to swipe in small small amounts because I want it to last. One tiny swipe lasts all day—unique for a Taha oil in this respect.

4.) Blue Kyara by Rising Phoenix—a stunner of an oil. Was lucky enough to pick up a small vial from a member here @Fredy and it’s VERY interesting to smell the Kyara combined with Jack Chaitmans Blue Lotus. Since I own a small qty of Jacks Blue lotus I understand how this oil combines so well. There’s a significant mind effect to this oil. The “feel” of Kyara is def present here. The bitter, medicinal, shake your head/eyes roll back, and wonder how something so amazing can come from this planet thing. Expensive, but big big wow factor.

I got a sample coming, btw between oud yusuf n yusuf royale... is the royale warrant the 100 dollar different?

If i just wan carry 2g in my daily edc bag n dot or swipe when i feel so
A lot of hype around EO oils especially the top tier ones

But I actually find Yusuf Royale to be a great organic oil that’s multifaceted. Slightly Smoky. Fruity. Bitter. Also shares some Chinese oil qualities.

I thought oud Yusuf was washed out and the farm destroyed. The story changed so much Over the years and it’s hard to keep Ensar’s marketing stories straight . I have the first two Yusuf’s and they are nice . I would have continued to purchase from Ensar but his stories make me feel he’s just an entry level player working for all the early oud student’s first time buys who just don’t know any better. Maybe a step above the perfumest but only a bit.
He has nice oils no doubt but his story line will become more obvious as a customer continues along the path .
I’m not into the blending of oils to create more sales points .
I’m not into vendors who act like distillers or producers who fabricate stories about the wood they used .
Once I see this in a vendor I never send them another $ , because if you act like a distiller but don’t buy equipment to grind wood or visit the out of country distillery you are a fraud. If you didn’t directly teach the crew and provide onsite instruction you are not a part of the team !!
Just buying wood sight unseen and telling a distiller you would like it done this way or that way doesn’t make you a distiller.

Ensar probably is a distiller, but I have never seen him claim to distill any particular oil. It seems to be well understood that there are other people distilling his oils. He talks about those distillers all the time in the descriptions of the oils.

I don’t know why people complain about Ensar being a good writer. Has he been dishonest? I see a lot of complaining about his dishonesty, but I’ve never seen an example.

The oud Yusuf plantation was destroyed
( ensars words) but all of a sudden he has a vast amount available and selling Tola amounts .
This is 1 example . He made it seem that you had to buy it or it would never be seen again then a few years later he’s talking to a different crowd and selling Tolas! 🤣😂
If you are new or don’t have your eyes open maybe you missed this outright lie to promote sales.
His blending of 5 different oils to make 20 different ones to sell ? That’s an Attar in my mind .
He says it’s sold out only to be resold under a different name and you end up with multiple bottles of the same oud with different names.
All aimed at uneducated and new customers

Well, I can jump on board these sentiments as well. I have to say I do totally understand that a new vendor who has excellent material has to find some way at first to get people’s attention and just providing a name and the price won’t do it.

For me personally, the really elaborate written narratives and repetitive predictable hype is a red flag, based on some past experiences and just common sense.

I think in some cases it is used to cover up the fact that their materials really don’t stand out from or hold up to the others that are out there, or that true story of its origin and journey are not entirely known. Since I am not psychic, it becomes an immediate red flag because of this.

It works both ways. His hyperbole is fueled by reviews and people claiming X oil is the best ever distilled and most unique. People pay 3-5k and claim it’s the most amazing thing earth has to offer. It keeps escalating. Also the threat of missing out on X oil really makes people impulsive. Also the whole aspect of how much rare agarwood is left fuels this.

Ensar did talk about it in an email sent to all the subscribers. Here is an excerpt from that email:

"Sadly, in an industry that’s about mass output and meeting quotas, it was precisely because they took their time and took such care that they eventually faced financial challenges and were forced to harvest the entire grove in order to sell the trees.

We found out about this when we went to visit the family. They weren’t at the farm when we arrived, so we wandered over to the grove. We walked and walked, looked around puzzled, and figured we must have been lost. Where we thought the grove was, there was now only empty land.

The silver lining came when we learned that the family wasn’t forced to sell off all their trees and had been treating another small grove of crassnas the same way. At that point, this grove hadn’t been worth selling, which meant they could keep the trees and continue their practice now that their financial troubles were relieved. Obviously, that took many years…

Due to old age, they stopped distilling anything in 2019. This batch of Oud Yusuf was what they were able to capture from their lovely grove until this point. The profile is identical to the 2011/12 distillations, plus we've aged the oil for three years before presenting it to you."

You said the plantation was destroyed a few years ago. The batch he's currently selling is from 2019. That checks out if you ask me. I would assume that he just decided not to keep it listed on the website to avoid selling all of it or to slim down the available lineup. Products come and go from his website all the time. In the last 4 years I'll bet you could have contacted them directly and purchased a bottle.

I only started using oud a few years ago, but it seems like every claim of Ensar's dishonesty is a stretch.

I don't know about the situation with blending oud. Do you have more details? That isn't really an attar btw. It can be called an attar in the same way that cereal can be called a kind of soup. It can just as easily be called a pure oud oil, because there is nothing but oud oil. It's a disagreement over semantics, but it's not dishonest.
