Nha Trang Qinan - The Attar Store

Next to Nha Trang 101 this one seems more sinensis leaning.

I could almost confuse it with Fragrant Harbour or Kyara LTD.

It's bittersweet candied citrus floral with a mind numbing hit, even from a tiny dot of a swipe.

Swiping it next to a hainan co2 oil really highlights the bitter numbing medicinal aspects.

Funny thing is, I used to have a gram of Nha Trang LTD from EO and I honestly never really liked it and didn't see what the hype was about. So I sold it after a couple of years.

These Nha Trang oils from Hamza are so much more clear and apparent to me that now I see what the hype is about. Luckily they're not $10,000 a bottle lol.

Pursat showdown
Jinkoh Store - Grand Emperor of Pursat
Starts with a vegetal green scent that gets coated in sugar. After a couple of minutes, it develops a very sweet aroma and the oil smells like candy. In combination with the green aspect, it reminds me of Grand Emperor of Tarakan. Also this slightly bitter nuances that are joining the scent profile are almost exactly what I remember smelling in Grand Emperor Tarakan.

Jinkoh store - Emperor of Pursat
A crystal gem of Pursat. It has a bit of everything. This time it has a more of a golden scent profile. Its not overly sweet like the Grand Emperor. A combination of a sweet, fruity and earthy profile without no overwhelming notes.

Which one of them?
I think my emperor of pursat sample oxidised. I didnt get all these amazing top notes like last time. I have it for like 6months and the ouddict before me for months too probably. I will try it again in a couple of days

Probably the same oil, Hamza @theattarstore has a degree in Medicine and not storytelling, so you don't have to pay extra for stories. Good work Hamza, you have surgically removed the BS.

I wore these twice today, once in the morning before a mid-day shower and once after.

Assam Aromas (TajOud) Assam 240, a perfect balance between the vaporous and sweet aspects of this style of oud. Perhaps the sweetest new gen I've experienced, from the bottle smells like pure honey, minus the heavy saccharine note, and upon swiping, the green notes come out in full force nestled in a cooling cloud. A basil like facet (perhaps with the pepperiness removed) mixed with the honey, slowly transitions into a vaporous citrus-y aroma, resembling Koh Chang in its feel. Relative to its opening, the sweetness diminishes towards the mid, and then reappears, in a new form in the dry down, showcasing a spectacular Hindi heart. Just the right touch of coolness, sweet honey and herbs! Very addictive!

HM Royal Hindi (Meghalaya 1970's) - Sulaym - cont'd, Two days ago I was getting distinctly smoke-y notes from the top, didn't last too long however, but were present in the air. Yesterday I smelled a distinctly sweet citrus (mandarin/tangerine) note, upon initial application, quite delightful but again short lived. Thrilled to be finishing off the sample vial, went in with a glass rod to get any stuck to the bottom, and its squeaky clean now. As many times as I've sniffed this oil over the last couple of days, I'm not even remotely bored of it.

Today wearing a dot of @mesOUD Vietking, lucky to be able to taste this oil. This oil opens with a creamy incensy array of summer fruits, nothing like Thai fruits but think of strawberries, rasberries, cranberries drenched in thick sweet toffee sauce. The oil then moves quickly to spices like those found in an Indian market place think aniseed, fennel and the like. As the oil progressess it moves towards woodiness, clean, smooth green woods, i even pickup some watermelon from this which i love. For a fresh oil there are no off notes and this is a well rounded high quality oil.

Well done sir keep up the good work with your distillations 👌

PS i like the small wooden case the oil was in

JazekAllah
İt is also a honor for me to see my work at treasured hands.
As you know inshaAllah this oil will transform too much in coming weeks and months.
This watermelon note is some like my signature in my distillations some bcz of the setup, some from the techniques i use

Calypso from Maunamoku on right wrist, look forward to working this one out with a few more wears, I smell a lot of different notes in this first impressions are very enjoyable!
Centra from Mesoud on left, this is another one that I look forward to exploring, first impressions are to me it starts of with a dry cedar maybe slightly fizzy birch tar Note with a lot more going on in the background! It seems to transition to a kinda fruity floral with again other things going on in the background! Very nice!

Sulaym - SQ Burmese (Sulaym 1)
I know its a beloved oil by many and I am really sorry but this oil is one of the rare oils that dont match my skin.
After swiping it, I get a plasticy/burnt plastic smell. I dont know why. Its not about Sulaym because I also have SQ burmese oil from a vendor outside ouddict and I got the same burnt plasticy note. I even have a SQ Rose Oud with this burmese oud that has the same burnt smell + rose.
Later on it fades away and I smell some florals and it has a good smelling background.

Cambodi Exquisite on the other hand
Now its more alive (fresh distillation)
Less harsh and edgy. A beautiful and unique citrussy openning with a natural forest smell. Slowly a hint of vanilla joins to infuse the openning with the beautiful slightly fruity and slightly sweet backbone.
Later on the vanilla pushes through and gives a borneo vibe. I didnt expect that 😍
A perfect clean cambodian

Speaking of sulaym, i swiped some of the HM royal(?) maroke. ? Because I’m not sure if that’s actually the name or not I can’t find the bottle now. Took me a while to figure this one out… It definitely has the classic maroke vibe, but in some different way - like there is some clear/ transparent sweet aspect that surrounds the Maroke core. Many oils from this region are like a heavy blanket of this kind of fuzzy smooth muddy pungency but in this oil, that pungency is introduced gradually and emerges out of something very sweet and smooth and appealing. I have no guesses as to why this one is so different from the typical maroke but it smells very nice.

Received my Vietking today and couldn’t wait to try it. Habz’ description is very on point. Opening is honeyed sweetness and pink fruit - the watermelon note is very clear and interesting. Something I haven’t smelled in any other oud.

The Anise note is also very pronounced and beautiful. It brings back childhood memories of my grandmother making me a warm cup of Egyptian Yansoon (anise) tea. While this is a very warm soothing scent, I also noticed a slightly cooling tingle during this phase of the oil. As it moves into the drydown it retains the anise as a defining component, but it blends into a gorgeous sweet woody incense scent.

Very lovely and complex oil. I am glad that I was able to support this project that felt like a true labor of love. I am proud to have this in my collection and excited to smell this young oil age and change over time. I only have a small amount so I will use it sparingly, but it is one of the most special oils I have due to the fact that Brother Mehmet shared the entire journey with us, and now I could be a part of it too.

Not to mention, shipping was extremely fast and packaging was very nice and thoughtful. I also received an overwhelming number of samples which I will be enjoying and discussing here as well. I’m glad I found this community which includes such wonderful and generous people such as Brother Mehmet.

Just it is facr time here and i saw your review.
Thank you very much for your warm words, realy motivating me and how a nice start for the new day.
InshaAllah you will shock your next visit(1 month later) when notice how it become.
I am extremely perfectionist and passionate anout about the works i do brother and this is why i take risk and share my young oils(as you know it already came from the pot),i want that people see, watch and understand the change of oil in time, this is also a journey, otherwise selling after dew months is good.
Why i said,i took risk:Because unexperienced noises can take a swipe from a young oil and can throw it,when they cant treasure the potential, but the thing i am offering is a total journey with real stuff.
İ dont like to share reviews of people whom bought my artisanal distilleries, have tons of feedbacks Alhamdulillah, yesterday one of my friend(here) if he wants he can say that is him, shared his review with me anout my Tuba distillation, because i couldnt smell it for 1 month, because i am distilling in my home and whole home is smelling oud,so i cant identify much.
This is only a part of this journey
[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day

Cambodi Supreme - Mellifluence.
Abdullah isn’t known so much for his Oud oils, but a couple I’ve sampled have been great. Cambodi Supreme was the most expensive Oud oil in his shop for good reason!
Purple, red & golden yellow tones, very colourful with a good complexity. The slightest hint of fermentation in the top note, but mostly a clean distillation with the richness of ripe fruits; cherry, plums, dates etc. A deep red incensey Crassna core, syrupy sweetness, liquorice, earthy moist tobacco, dry woods, greenery.
A sticky oil, viscous but not quite that of a traditional Thaqeel. Very enjoyable!

Alhindoud - Yunnan (sample) on my left wrist
Amazing 'deep' sweetness. I couldn't help myself and swiped it when it just arrived, and I think it's better now after it has been sitting and resting for a while.

Meghalaya on my right wrist
I'm not too happy with this one. I'm not a big fan of barn, and this one has lots of it. Even hubby said 'it smells like a farm'. No offense to the oil, it's just not our taste.. yet? Is this something that we can learn to appreciate?
I'm not washing it off because I want to see how this develops after 30 mins-1 hour or so.

Is the Meghalaya you're referring to the Royal Hindi or an oil from AlHindOud ?

Classical Hindi Oud, with its animalic leathery barnyard top notes is something many people including myself not only appreciate, but very much crave!
Don’t wash it. Wait for the scent progression. Even though the barn will still be present somewhat, usually it subsides quite a bit & the heavenly, balsamic, caramelised notes of Agallocha resin will emerge.
Good quality, traditionally fermented Hindi Oud oils are usually tenacious, so there will be a long interesting scent progression for you to evaluate.
