Classical Hindi Oud, with its animalic leathery barnyard top notes is something many people including myself not only appreciate, but very much crave!
Don’t wash it. Wait for the scent progression. Even though the barn will still be present somewhat, usually it subsides quite a bit & the heavenly, balsamic, caramelised notes of Agallocha resin will emerge.
Good quality, traditionally fermented Hindi Oud oils are usually tenacious, so there will be a long interesting scent progression for you to evaluate.
Thank you for your reply!
It has developed into a really nice scent, very leathery (?) and slightly bitter (?) I only just now dared to sniff my right wrist again, because I really didn't enjoy the first swipe. I can't remember this sample being this 'barnyard' but perhaps seasons change the scent a lot.

That’s excellent to hear! I’m glad you’re enjoying the dry down phase. Hindi Oud oil can be sublime, like any other region there’s various scent profiles but the high quality oils usually develop into rich, leathery, sweet, bitter, deeply resinous full bodied profiles. My favourite nuance is the coumarin-rich sun baked hay, usually a sign of a good oil. Enjoy!

I’ve been enjoying quite a few Nha trang oils lately which I believe are all aquilaria sinensis. Every Vietnamese crassna I’ve ever tried just didn’t do it for me. But I had a feeling this one was different and my gut is rarely wrong.

And it wasn’t! First sniff from the vial and I knew it was something special. Just has this sweet regal woody incense vibe to it. Everyone should get at least a .25 because it is an incredible oil at an incredible price.

Thank you very much
You honored me
The price i offered to ouddict community (till 7th jan) is only the wood cost of this oil, without any additional cost like labor, propane etc
Distilled this beauty from the highest grade incense parts.

VietKing from Mesoud.
There is this watermelon note that seems to combine slightly with a cross between a rose and a jasmine floral which creates this absolutely beautiful plump seductive scent. There is so much more going on as well like a kinda sticky sugary uplifting mysterious resinous oud note. This at this stage for me is what I am getting with just the opening stage. Wow what a treat to get to first of all get a glimpse of the extraction process and now go on a journey of discovery with such a treasure. Thank you for this brother!

You are welcome brother
İt is a Honor for me

Barn Hindi works better in cold weather for me. I also like to layer it with rose oil, it counters the farmy aspect well.

Today I am wearing some Upper Assam oil by Alfiya Perfumers in Kannauj City, where I am right now!! It's a lot colder here than I expected but it's perfect for this kind of oil.

HM Malay distilled in the 1990s for the Sultan of Oman!!! 1 gram I got for £220. This stuff is incredible, amazing scent. Starts off with a deep resinous note then quickly adds a smoky incense note as if I am burning the wood it is made from, and then another note comes along, leather, a very soft leather that was always there turns into a nice sharp, comforting leather, the resinous note stays for a while (I put it on around 30 mins ago) and the leather note is always there but goes up and down in, intensity, not much barnyardy notes if any at all really, only thing that I woul say in that regard is that a creamy, oat like note can come and go and that gets eaten up by the resinous note, its such a clean oud. I am not done with it yet, and only put a little on, but this is my favourite oud oil so far, and my first Oud that is Artisanal!!! I LOVE IT 💜
The smell is so good it makes me believe that this was distilled from high grade incense wood.

Thank you so much, @SULAYM, you are so wonderful, and the oud reflects this.

EDIT: I also got 2 free samples (a few medium swipes and a couple large swipes) of oud for the 70s!!! This company is amazing.

This one reminds me generally of the Malek al Malayzi from ASO and this old bottle of oudline “kalimantan super ateeq” i must have picked up in 2005/2006 or so. this type of deep rich resinous indo-malay profile is just about as good as it gets for my nose.

Malek al Malayzi from ASO
One of my favorites from this house. Saving up for a bottle. The first time I smelled it, I got the impression of a rich Bordeaux. It has a beautiful currant flavor and the refined richness of an aged wine.

Today wearing @Al Hashimi 's Laal Jinkoh on my left hand and Oud Royale on my right.
Have you tried this oil? HM Malay?
I have. It's excellent. I would have ordered more than a sample had I not already owned a bottle of @Faizal_p 's SQ Burmi, which shares some aspects of the scent profile.

Yes, I love this oil. It is amazing, I only put a little bit on now I wish I put more on lol, even though I'm hardly at the base, can I put a bigger couple of swipes on without washing my hands?

By the way, take my comparisons with a grain of salt. I’ve only experienced a few swipes of the Malik Al malayzi and my most recent sniffs were from a little residue so i’m not confident about how that smells fresh compared to this one. I recall a similar sense of richness and maturity, nice forest humus notes, a kind of “healthy decomposition” as opposed to decay

wearing birdsong over the drydown of aceh green is like marzipan candied fruit and almonds in the most complex way 😳

MesOUD - Oud Said

My favorite of the Mesoud samples I’ve tried so far (not counting VietKing). Definitely a unique scent I haven’t smelled in other ouds. Hard to describe this one but has some floral and wet woody elements. I see why this has been very popular
Indeed this one is a real shapeshifter on my skin. Really beautiful and one of my favorites
