TajOud (Assam Aromas) - M240 Assam - my primary oil today, especially loved the sweet green, some say herbal coriander dry down today.

EO - Naga Kubra - More austere smelling than M240, touch of smoke and a hint of nuttiness in the background.

HabzOud - Hindi X - Tamed barn, with warm spiced tea notes, hints of leather, some muskiness detected in the mid.

Sulaym - West Bengal - that piercing top from Bandarban, cacao minus the smokiness, transitioning to that iconic agallocha heart, with a good dose of floral citrus which creeps in.

Applied the last three in the evening and refreshed the first. Very minimal (I'm being generous here) barn and just wait 30 mins to an hour and you'll be greeted with that gorgeous Hindi heart, slightly green, slightly sweet, and cool incense, but a unique rendition in each! I know I overdid it today, but it was so worth it!

Habzoud - Altaws
Starts with a sensation of a snowy wind hitting your nostrils on your way to a beautiful jungle full with fruit trees. This cold sensation introduces all kind of colors and feelings. From green lush jungles to brown earthy to woody to fruity. Overall its neither green or dry brown more slightly sweet fruity like a real cambodi. But the harmony of these colors and your nose discovering new scents every time you sniff, is a wonderful experience and I get why it has the name Altaws (Peacock, where you always discover something new in its feathers when you stare at them).
Surprisingly enough after a while a faint smokey but woody profile shows up. Like a bakhoor is burning on your skin.
To be honest I was hoping it wont drydown with this smokey aspect because its not what I prefer in my ouds. I forgot the oil for a while and I sniffed it again to find out it it has the classical fruity resins sweet drydown.
I can only say this is a nobrainer for the money. For this price you can only get a monotonous organic cambodi and the journey of this oil will insure you will have a lot of fun using it.

Habzoud - Zamarad
I think its version 1, I found a sample and it doesnt say version 2.
If you like green clean and airy malay oils, just buy it. If Zamarad (Emerald) had a smell, it would smell like this oil for sure 😆
Amazing oil but I still dont like green smelling ouds. If you love green ouds, this will give you all you need.
Version 2 is 200/3g 🫣🤯 for a wild oil

Myitkyina 4K (v2) - Agar Aura.
One of the best Burmese oils I’ve tested. I’m finding it difficult assessing which species this is distilled from. Regardless, the high grade of the wood is evident!
Citrus, warm spices, cool incense, slightly smoky, florals, deep woods. It has the syrupy sweet, ripe fruits, red / purple incense character of Crassna & the dry woody, herbal, honey, pristine high pitched bitterness of Sinensis. All super clean & bright, yet full bodied, dense, satisfyingly resinous.
I’ve had a tiny swipe on my forearm for the last 13 hours & it’s still there. Slightly powdery, sweet & balmy at this far dry down stage. Excellent stuff.

Unreleased oil from Maunamoku. This one is one I am looking forward to being released! need a couple more go’s with it but for me it opens with a with a blump slightly fruity floral note, kind of a mix between a great jasmine and rose is what comes to mind. There is a slight lovely musky note with a resinous oud lurking in the background. Then it takes you on a dynamic journey which is really enjoyable! Definitely worth keeping an eye out for this one!

Oud Extraordinaire - EO.
One of the best cultivated Thai oils in my opinion. Cherry, plums, dates; the rich mature fruitiness of the Oud resin tricks the brain into thinking it’s a wild oil.
It’s less playful than most other cultivated Thai’s, instead of orange & yellow hues, OE displays dark red / purple tones similar to that of a Cambodi oil. Syrupy sweet, slightly smoky, cool green incense, dark red Crassna resin, Rosa Centifolia abs, honey, tobacco - OE drys down to a balmy, resinous, deep woody incense profile that punches far above its weight. There’s even a hint of an high grade aged Thaqeel.
An extra bonus, this oil lasts forever on skin with a great projection, it’s one of the strongest oils in my collection.
I never sampled Oud Yusuf, but have tested several other of Ensar’s cultivated Thai’s, OE is head & shoulders above the rest, I wouldn’t bother with the others.

The version I’m using is dark red in colour, after purchasing this one first I opted to get a back up, the back up I received was almost black in colour & although the profile was similar it was much more smoky & bitter, less refined. I was quite disappointed with the newer version & subsequently sold it.

Which year are they?

Apparently a similar issue exists with Assam Organic, I do wish some sort of additional qualifier could be added to a name to separate batches, but that might be overkill. I agree batches can be different, but a batch with additional smoke-y notes seems like something more drastic was changed in the distillation parameters. Maybe it has more to do with either increasing or reducing the proportion of wild oud added to a batch?

I have the 2022 batch of Oud Extraordinaire but have yet give it a full wearing, unfortunately I've never tired the older run.

If there are multiple batches within same year it would be great to get the batch # e.g. batch 1, 2, 3, etc.

Did anyone try the 2022 batch?
I completely agree, especially as the batches within the same year are quite different! It seems the attitude at EO is “Oh well that's what you get when buying organic oud”.

Regardless of the price, customers should be aware of what they’re buying. Most other vendors will inform the customer if a particular oil is a second version or second release.

Haven’t tried the 2022 release yet.

Note: I am writing this as I am wearing it, writing time is over 2 hours (and I am not wearing a lot as I would for a review, so this is NOT a review, just wanted to go more into detail with a small amount of this oud on hehe. I will stop as soon as I feel I have said enough for tonight.)
HM Malay by SULAYM. Starts off with a piercing but non offensive resin note from the wood used to distill, after around 15-20mins the resin note starts to go into the back ground and for a couple of mins the smell is reduced, then pops up a leather note, with the resin note still in the background, after around 20-30 mins the resin note is still there but still in the background, and the leather note takes over, but the resin note still pops its head in, here and there, and wants you to know that it hasn't disappeared, so in the time frame of 40-50 mins, you go from sharp resin notes, beautifully handed over to a nice leathery note while still having this resin note in there, so after 40-50 mins, you get notes of both resin and leather dancing around. The more time goes on (around the 45-50min mark) the leather takes the front seat, while that once piercing, soaking wet, dripping resin, is a note of the past, but not quite, as it is still there in the background, waving its hand a quarter of a mile away from the leather, the changing of notes is beautifully done. Hell, 45-50 mins into it (nearly 1 hour) the resin can sometimes fly over to the leather note and scare it and the resin note will hit you all of a sudden for one sniff, amazing. The notes, both leather and resin, were once ferocious in the potency, after around an hour the notes (and I am guessing further notes) are now becoming softer and gentler and more rounded. After around an hour and 5-15mins into this, the resin note is starting to become more and more a note of the, not-so distant, past, as it fades like incense smoke in the air. Now that the very "top note" is, pretty much gone, I am left with a soft leather scent/note with that I am potentially seeing take up either a floral note or an incense smoky note, or both at different times. Just under 2 hours of having this on, the leather note is the dominant note, the resin "top" note is now gone as I have said, but the leather has now took on a dad position of the family, and it is like it is playing with a smokey oud incense note (lol, I saw a clear but vague, picture in my head as this note hit of leather notes pushing the smokey oud incense note on the swing) or something. 2 hours and 5 or 10 mins into this the leather note is still heavy, the oud smokey incense note is still there, but has came off the "swing" 🤣. In the 2 hours now that I have had this on I have gently rubbed it in when it becomes stagnant, as I have learned that this can bring it back to life, quick question, does this mean I should put more on? Anyway, what usually leaves me the rest of the way is leather, sometimes some mint, and incense notes that gradually fade away, then a nice soft, well rounded floral note.
Also forgot to mention, the sweetness of this oil is very sweet, and it stays sweet for a MINIMUM of 3-4 hours, and if floral notes take over at the end then it last much longer, if spicy notes take over then usually it will be less sweet, but itll be spicy + background sweetness, floral, will be floral + background sweetness, but if it turns floral then there's sweetness coming from the floral notes, in a sense.

I agree with you brother. There needs to be additional qualifier, especially when the colour & profile changes.
Even though these oils are ‘organic’ they’re still not cheap. You’d think EO would employ are little more transparency to please their customers!

Speaking of sulaym, i swiped some of the HM royal(?) maroke. ? Because I’m not sure if that’s actually the name or not I can’t find the bottle now. Took me a while to figure this one out… It definitely has the classic maroke vibe, but in some different way - like there is some clear/ transparent sweet aspect that surrounds the Maroke core. Many oils from this region are like a heavy blanket of this kind of fuzzy smooth muddy pungency but in this oil, that pungency is introduced gradually and emerges out of something very sweet and smooth and appealing. I have no guesses as to why this one is so different from the typical maroke but it smells very nice.
Lovely oil. It's probably my least favourite oud scent profile, and it's weird in this oil - it has facets of Maroke oils that I dislike, yet in here they are enjoyable! That distinct "leather shoe factory", shiny, shimmering kinda vibe is what I generally dislike but in here it was very purple, much more subdued and not so piercing/sharp as to be a put-off. I was surprised as I'd pretty much written off Maroke oils for good
Cambodi Supreme - Mellifluence.
Abdullah isn’t known so much for his Oud oils, but a couple I’ve sampled have been great. Cambodi Supreme was the most expensive Oud oil in his shop for good reason!
Purple, red & golden yellow tones, very colourful with a good complexity. The slightest hint of fermentation in the top note, but mostly a clean distillation with the richness of ripe fruits; cherry, plums, dates etc. A deep red incensey Crassna core, syrupy sweetness, liquorice, earthy moist tobacco, dry woods, greenery.
A sticky oil, viscous but not quite that of a traditional Thaqeel. Very enjoyable!
This is a great oil, Abdullah has brought out some gems. I have a sample of a premium Vietnamese oil that he was selling for what I thought was quite high back then, only to have had absolutely no qualms paying 3x that for other oils 2 years later 🤣

MesOud - Vietking. I was a bit underwhelmed on first swipe, it was a bit dull, metallic, grey - not bad at all, just not what I expected. It also slightly (maybe 10% or so) reminded me of another Viet oil I have from Olefaktory.
Fast forward 10mins and upon the next sniff I'm greeted with a drastically different smell - finding it hard to describe, but reading 'watermelon' in an earlier post here made me agree. It's a kinda energetic, buzzy and shifting oil, I'm getting a yellow hue but not fruity like a Thai, nor golden like a new-age Hindi. Ah man when I was wearing it a few days ago I was getting loads more scent associations ringing in my mind but it's all gone. I'm wearing it now! And nothing's jumping out at me (verbally). It's a really good oil, extremely smooth too for such a fresh distillation.

Jianfengling (Chinese) Oud from www.pureoudh.com. This oil is quite nice to wear and smell every now and then, it is extremely potent, so my 1ml hasn't even reached the half way point between 1 and 0.5ml lol, if you put too much on it is cloyingly sweet, but if you just put the right amount on, it is perfect. Starts off with an intense creamy, fruity scent that is quite piercing, after around 15-20 mins it softens and the creaminess dies down and becomes a tropical, fruity, jungle style scent, with a woody background that comes on more and more with time, and (as far as I can remember last time wearing it) the fruitiness stays quite intact until the very last whiff of vapour coming off your hand.

Beautiful oil 🙂

EDIT: I didn't notice this before, but since I have became a little more experienced with oils, as it enters the base notes, it becomes a soft, fruity, light floral scent. Beautiful.
