Oud said from @mesOUD Abi

Probably my favorite oud oil of all time. It was the first one from his set that I tried. It’s kind of my first love.

I fast 2x a week for various reasons. And right bevor I break my fast by eating a date I always swipe a oud oil and pray Maghreb. Today it was Oud said.

Man this is such a beautiful oil. I remember when i first sniffed this I immediately wrote mesOud Abi how overwhelmed I was. I couldn’t belive that this is „just“ an oud oil. There is so much going on. Smokey Leather combined with cinnamon, amber and tabaco with a tiny fruity note in the background. This is a real shapeshifter on my skin. It gave me so much peace and calmness during my prayer.

This is one of the oils I feared to use in a composition because in my opinion it’s too good to be used in a composition. It would be pure insanity.
Heck is it a composition in itself.

Just recently(4 weeks ago) I tried to build a composition around it.

Just to name few ingredients :
Black tea, black pepper, touch of clove, Tabacoo abs., Peru Balsam, oakmoss, vanilla, patchouli, coffee, cacao, castoreum and many more precious and rare ingredients.

(After I recived a pice of ambergris and studied it I know this just screams to be pared with oud said)

Even tough I got really great feedback from friends I think I did a miserabel job. Like I said some things need to be enjoyed neat.

The mere thought that mesOud Abi will run out of this oil this oil at some point makes me sad

@Habz786, Al Hareer, a very nice refined Hindi oud. The first time I put this on I put a little too much on (since it's a potent oil) and it was very, very cheesy for quite a while, now... the opening notes are only a tiny bit cheesy, hardly noticeable, but mainly a nice refined Hay, Sweetness and Woody oudiness. After a while it has a spicy, saffron-like note, with a nice woody element, with a really clear and refined hay that adds to that woody note. It has notes of the famous Indian fragrance oil, "Heena", which is just lovely. Notes of a natural, nice leather and sweetness. Complex oil that I will probably need to wear a few times to "get it". And it really is, like silk.

Haha I am happy that others also feel this silky aspect 😁

Jinkoh Store: Grand Emperor Hue

This Vietnamese oud was distilled back in 1990. The age has transformed it into a smooth liquor of resinous oud. Smooth, powdery-resinous oud, sweet and bitter, purple and red crushed berries, all playing together over a slightly vaporous mentholic background.

I'm due to receive a bottle of this oil today. Your thoughts have me even more excited about it. I've tried many wonderful oud oils, but over time, I have come to realize that nothing does it for me like Hindi oud ... and the more potent the barnyard, the better. Bring it on! lol

Agar Aura - Bois Noir
An oil from Sabah, Malaysia
This is a malay, the way I like it. Starts with a cooling mentholic scent like Taha mentions and then continues with the dark cola, resinous & woody dark malays scent. It has a bit of spiciness of pepper or anise. No sharp notes or fermentation aspects.
It actually just matches Tahas description. I get a resinous merauke vibe and a bright borneo in the beginning.
Drydown is satisfying and deliciously resinous woody!
For 455$/2.5g its a very nice oil for a fair price but sadly its sold out 😅

Maunamoku's, Hirta Deadwood new gen oil. Very fascinating and lovely oil, the majority of the experience lasts around 2 hours, then you go into the base notes and nothing much changes then dry notes quickly after. The notes with this oil always surprise me since it is as if each time I put it on, even though there is a classic profile to it, there is new notes to be discovered. The notes I was getting was the traditional tropical fruits, camphor and oudy wood notes. Then there is this new note I found and it was a powdery floral note, kind of a kinamic floral notes, but different at the same time, honey and caramel gave it a golden hue with some resinous dark chocolate that was sometimes creamy and milk-like chocolate as the cream note and dark chocolate note mixed together and formed 1 deep, resinous, milk chocolate note. Nice and sweet, yet not too much, and having a nice zang to it as well.

Not wore this oil in a while, love it every time I do wear it.

like powder blue suede leather. just beautiful and clean. this one is a gem in my collection 😍

Jinkoh Store Royal Merauke
Jinkoh Store Sumatra Essenza

The latter is an oil yet to be released. It is really nice and that's coming from someone who avoided Sumatran oils forever. It has this clean, beach shore muddiness that is addictive and perplexing at the same time. It's a very calming oil. Royal Merauke is the opposite. Smoky Merauke wood. I picture glittering embers. I think Mordor smelt like this. The earth burnt and the smoke left to permeate the atmosphere. It's one of those oils I only occasionally reach for, more out of curiosity.

SULAYM's Thai Khiao. Very nice, cultivated, simplistic oudh, and definitely a steal. It starts with a ton of green nature, green herbs and (depending on how much you put on) a real hit of menthol. Slowly it develops into a woody, oudy note, with a weird bitterness to it, as well as sourness, that also changes into a bittersweet note with majority of it being quite bitter, until the end where the sweetness kind of takes over. Old wood furniture note, as well as a tad bit of hay, and leather, and spiciness. Overall a good oud for the price.

This is the 3rd time this week having it on. A good oud that you dont have to sit and study.

No. 1 by SULAYM. When I first put it on, and I put quite a fair bit on, it was very lackluster and could hardly smell anything, this was my mistake I think as I was just out of my bed and I dont think my system was fully "switched on yet", but after a while it developed on the skin and my nose came alive (so it could either be a slow developer or my olfactory system for oil wasn't kicked in yet, even though I had a stick lit in my room when I was lying down). I get notes of purple fruits, quite a bit of soft powdery florals, which I LOVE in an oud, woodiness, oudiness and agarwood incense smoke, and creamy, high end, quality cigar smoke. Very nice oud.

Getting to know EO Oud Sultani 2001
I understand the high praise for this oil. This is the more beautiful counterpart to OR 1 no doubt. It has that same bottomless depth, smoothness, and ethereal incense chord but is paired with honey, powdery purple florals, rose wine, and rose grapes. All unified into this deep purple Malay core and smoothed to the point where you wonder where one facet starts and the other ends. Velvety texture. The OG Purple Kinam. Wow.
