mesOUD- Cambodi Classic

Sweet chocolate-like barnyard blended with sour red berries and fermented woods soaked in liquor. Smells a little funky fermented but not too simple, has that kind of sour sweet Thai crassna fruit hint but with a little deeper and darker shade. More cacao dust and maybe even a touch of spicy smoke. First impressions here after swiping it 20 min ago, will be a good day!

craziest changer ive smelled to date still. goes from a powerful almost vetiver-esque opening, to the most incredibly creamy, nutty, and vivacious drydown that doesnt quit. getting close to new bottle time

Hirta Deadwood - Maunamoku.

Is always a little different each time I wear it, but not as much anymore as I have worn it quite a few times now in 6 months, with still a lot left, but even still, something surprises me... hard to put into to words.

Starts off with this sweet, petrichor rain fall after hot day, in the jungle type note, with zesty sweet and sour fruits (orange in colour), hints of chocolate, and some clean earthiness, and agarwood notes with hints of resin giving it a nice feeling that the wood is heating at a stable, lowish temp. The more it develops you get notes of camphor, and a piercing mintiness, spices come into the mix all over and come in and out, jumping all about... haha, the spices last for most of the 2 hour main event (after 2 hours you are into the base and fastly into the dry down). The camphor starts to produce some cedarwood-ish notes, but go away relatively fast, although I do like cedar 🤷🏻‍♂️. Notes of blood orange, that is both very sour/zesty and sweet, and sherbet kinda notes... the more it develops again after about an hour, the mintiness is no longer piercing and is a lot softer and more well rounded in a kinda kinamic way, notes of camphor jump in and out for a bit and reminds you of the top notes of the wet jungle. Notes of blood orange, which is quite tangy, zesty, sherbet-y sourness with a nice undertone of potent juicy, orange sweetness. The more it goes on and around an hour away from the dry down you get tons of highly resinous and agarwood notes that form into this amazing note of agarwood incense at a little higher temps than before, very satisfying. Florals start to come in more and more, and they get nice and powdery and mix with agarwood notes, and eventually coming onto dry down you get a bouquet of flowers, and zesty fruits.

Lovely oil.

Agar Aura - Myitkyina 4K V1

First Burmese oil in the collection and first oil from the lovely Taha. Shoutout to @Anwar for the speedy and smooth transaction getting this legendary oil to me. I’m way too green to oud to give you guys any real breakdown or review on any oils, but especially one like this. These are first impressions and should be as always, taken with a grain of salt.

I get this warm honeyed sunset feeling from it, sun shining on salty sunscreen covered skin. Bits of red crassna fruits and yellow honey florals mixed with oceanic breezy saltiness. Some metallic like facets to it, not coppery like the silani I have but more silver oxide like. Has hints of this crassna woody incense like spice too.

Even now 10 minutes later it’s keeps morphing. Now to a more sweet and creamy resinous wood scent with a floral backbone. I may be getting conflicting notes with the oils I put in earlier today too, so I’ll be sure to get this share more with a fresh swipe. I’m glad I’ll be able to spend many days studying this oil and uncovering the many facets it has for me to discover.

mesOUD - Lombok

Spicy green herbs, musky leather, dry vetiver, and a dry soily note. Calm, serene, tranquil. This oil feels very meditative and instantly quiets the mind when taking a big inhale. Nothing loud, soaked, or off-putting. A clean and composed multi-faceted oil, smells like reading a leather bound ancient text on the dry but alive ground of a deep and lush forest.

A beautiful oil for a beautiful day, Eid Mubarak to all my Muslim brothers🙏

New gen oils are hard to describe bro. You done an excellent first impression!!! When I got my Hirta Deadwood from Sam/Maunamoku, it was so confusing with the notes. Now I feel like I have a 80-90% understanding of it 6 months later!!!!

Kepi is just too good for words. if you like filaria, this is top shelf!

consistency wise, this is a very thin oil compaired to most. the vacuum distillation process lets vapor rise with less heat, so this results in a fuller oil though be it with a lesser yield... what a crazy batch!

Side by side , I am absolutely blissed out rn.........M4K is just amplifying the cooling blast from VK , its as if I were standing outside in the dead of winter breathing in freezing cold air.

Vietking is going to be one of the most sought after unicorns in times to come. I see absolute potential in this oil.

Habzoud - Raja Hijau
AA - Myitkyina 4K

I thought these two had some similarities so put them both on. If anything it just highlighted how wildly different they are.

Raja Hijau has the most delicious green/blue oceanic gas mixed with sweet guava skins. For the first time I’m noticing an almost creamy salty note as it dries, maybe like a coconut. This creaminess has a waxy character to it too, almost like candlewax coconut. This oil definitely punches above its weight class.

M4K is too crazy! A warm crassna Thai red fruits with yellow narcotic honey and florals. Metallic and salty ambergris like muskiness combining with peach notes and tangy apricot coming out as it warms up on the skin. It smells warm and fuzzy too, maybe like pollen, even though I don’t think I really know what that smells like. Like a warm fuzzy yellow scent.

Having such a blast going between these two oils🤯

Wearing @mesOUD Vietking, i let this sit a while after trying it intially, as you do with fresh oils. Anyone who thinks ageing doesnt benefit oils is clueless.

The oil opens with an array of firey spices in particular cinamon, nutmeg and cardamons and then moves onto boozy notes of ripe cherries, cranberries and sweet dates. From here it heads towards a cooling minty phase and then a chip sizziling on low heat and gets woodier and darker as it drys down. I also get notes of fresh hennah and a slight earthiness.

A very enoyable oil, i will revisit again after a while...

mesOUD - Sumbawa Black
mesOUD - Sumbawa Seufi

Decided to swipe these two on together and see how they differ. I was really in love with SB and it’s polished leather, Tom Ford Ombré Leather-esque scent. It smells like a designer leather jacket, or the interior of a supercar. For anyone needing a pure modern leather oud this fits the bill. There’s also bits and pieces of others scents that accompany the leather. Some sweet woodiness, an earthy soily scent, but it’s all gobbled up primarily by the leather.

Sumbawa Seufi on the other hand smells much more complex, with many different notes presenting themselves clearly right from the jump. There’s definitely still a leather accord present, but it’s a little older, like an old leather book. Combined with that is a dry but sweet tobacco scent, salty ocean air, and a wintergreen type mint. A smell of burning wood chips can be found in the background as well as it begins to settle. I like both oils, but this one seems to be a little more up my alley. Will be studying these closely today.

Edit: SB still projecting a super clean polished leather, maybe a warm nutty sweetness to it to. It’s a really easy to love oil.

Seufi has introduced a sort of cooling and dry ash note to it. Sort of smells like an ashtray in a wintergreen forest. Really cool, one of the more unique scents I’ve tried. I need a full bottle of this one 100%
