Kambodi Katheef III and Kinam X by Hashimi.

I am hopeless at describing ouds but KKIII is lovely. A thick viscous oil reminiscent of honey, lasts on my skin all day and projects if warmed up. Dense gooey fruit/pollen with a little bit of animalic funk when applied which develops into a musky incense.

Kinam X creamy sweetness with a few distinct stages of fudge, fruitiness (something like a cape gooseberry), incense, before settling into a vanilla like oudhy goodness. I wish that I could have tried Santal X before it was sold out.

Mesoud Tarakan Qadeem. Couldn't put this stuff down for a while, but have been backing off a bit so I don't use it all up and trying to find a budget daily oud so i can save the good stuff for special occasions and still smell reasonably good in between. Love this incense heavy rich bittersweet oud!

@mesOUD - Levent
@YusaAromatics - Ceylon Encens

Levent
is aging so beautifully. That sulfuric gasoline note is reading more as a floral like onion/garlic, mixed with oodles of yogurt like cream and peppery aquatic seashells. Gets mustier and woodier as it sits on the skin, sometimes reading as a moldy gasoline. These Filipino oils are quite the interesting specimens.

Swiped on some of Ceylon Encens from Yusa, boy is it a nice one. Silani like chemical fumes but much more bitter and leathery. Smelling a lot like a silani shaded brother of Xiangshui from Habzoud. Eye watering animalic leather and bitter tropical aquatic mango flesh. Definitely one of my favorite if not favorite silani oils I’ve smelled so far.

EO - Suriranka (current version)

If you know me you know I love Silanis & florals...the Silani gods were listening.
I barlely even know you and already I know you love silanis and florals, so you speak truth.

OOTD is Gahau Uno from Habzoud.
Makes my nose happy. Forest floor, healthy ecosystem smell. Balsam poplar groves in spring, beaver dam formed wetlands. A little pepperiness in the dry down... Natural beauty in a bottle. Given the massive variety that is out there it is so interesting to experience collections filtered through the aesthetics of people with good connections and broad experience like habz

EO Bhutan Red
EO Assam 3000

I went with Red in the morning, heavy swipes on my neck as I wanted something with a bit more "muscle" to carry me through the day. The funny thing is, in the air/sillage it feels so clean and creamy. Only if I sniff it up close do I get the more "traditional" touch. In the air, it's all about creamy florals, and pollen, very resinous, and spicy.

A 3000 has a good amount of honey bush tea notes in the opening making me think of the Bhutan DNA but the other elements in it, like the strawberry milk, the honey, soft hay, and vanilla, depart from the Bhutan plains, just slightly. I really love that "Rooibos Tea" note that feels like the hallmark of these Bhutan oils. Rooibos tea served with milk, honey, and cinnamon. I think these Bhutan oils are the most soothing oils I tried. Instant stress release. Borneos and Silanis are soothing as well yet nothing beats Bhutan, or the "Muana."

Haha yea bud !

Not necessarily. It’s over 40c here in Qatar but I’m still wearing my oud.
I got it as a gift from my in-laws years ago, I’m not sure what it is but it seems like a classic, thick, fermented Indian oud that smells a bit too much at the start, almost like burned rubber, but it mellows out very nicely, I’m wearing it with a swipe of Taifi rose from a local seller I deal with.

The only type of oud I wouldn’t wear in the summer is ouds with a pronounced musky or fecal notes.
Try oud in the summer! You’d be surprised and you might even like it
I just got an expert's opinion. He kept going back and forth smelling it in amazement. Then told me to not sell it or give it away, turns out its not Hindi, but a well aged , rare wild Burmese oil.
Its incredibly dark and thick, half a drop is enough of this oil to project almost two meters from me. I'll attach a photo of it.
[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day

Today im wearing a Trat+siberian musk oil i made a while ago, the musk changed the color of the oil a bit and brightened the smell a lot, im getting notes i never did before! It's airy now, and reminds me of the sea. The musk isnt offensive at all.

A wee dab of trat sweet from mesoud - found this when organizing my workbench so i figured i should apply a dab. Fits the Trat profile nicely, not getting any fermented notes, nothing especially pungent. this is a very simple clean candy like oil that kind of sits at the intersection of sour fruity, surupy and woody - not leaning too strongly one way or another.

EO Oud Mostafa 4

Cambodi with a Hindi twist.
All this talk on another thread about barnyard and fermentation notes made me want to swipe OM4. The animalic chord dominates, but is joined by sweets, fruits, creamy, oudy, and woody. I think it’s a yummy barn leaning toward animal fur. Maybe a touch fecal, but not in any way offensive, well, not to me at least.

An-Najwa - OMAR old skool classic Hindi

Two drops left. .

To the gods of agarwood, I pray for sticks with this traditional classic Hindi profile, including the cheese please.
This is a really nice one isn't it? It's been a while since I smelled it but I recall this one had a really nice depth to it.
