I’ve been blown away by Habz recent oils, truly stunning!
The only oil I didn’t enjoy was the first version of Cambodi Smoke I purchased back in 2022, while I could appreciate the concept the smokiness was too much for me.
That first version is one of my favorites. It’s so intensely Smokey I love it. Although the second version is really lovely too.

Sympathies! I'm finally getting over one that lasted four months -- four months in which I did a lot of buying. I kept thinking, this oils/attars/perfumes seems lovely now, but what if I hate them when I'm well? 😁

I don't think I shall 🙂
It’s always a gamble to know! Right now I can smell things but very faintly. What’s nice is knowing that what I can smell seems to be consistent with what I enjoy when my nose is 100%. It’s like everything is just very, very quiet.

Yusa sent me an attar sample and I haven’t tried it yet but from the cap it smells insane. I just don’t want why perceptions to get ruined expecting one thing now to smell the same when my nose is back up and running.

Maybe it’s a misunderstanding but it seems to me that you’ve been subtly rude and I am also confused by it. Kinda argumentative for no reason about things I didn’t even say.

I don’t know why you would feel the need to say that you were not being disrespectful if you didn’t understand why the comment was seemingly disrespectful.

I also haven’t been unreasonable, and I find it disrespectful for you to call me unreasonable.

If there’s some kind of huge misunderstanding, then I apologize. I don’t think I’m seeing something that isn’t there.

And complaining about the word ‘pissy’ is just very petty.
Look man whatever you say. I’m done talking about this.

Maybe, but two oils from the same guy can be very different.

Jinkoh store is run by Marius, who is another owner of Imperial Oud. His Grand Emperor Nha Trang oil smells very different from Nha Trang Ultima.

Sulaym is also run by a former part-owner of IO, and their SQ Vietnamese oil smells nothing like any of the oils mentioned. They haven't released any kind of new gen Nha Trang oil that I am aware of.

That is because these people have lots of connections and they get their oils from different sources. Marius got his NT oil from a chinese seller and Sulaym's viet oil is an SQ oil, so obviously different. According to rumors, Ensar got NTLTD from the same distiller that the guys at IO got NTU. If NT ko or Oritsu is from the same source then it probably smells similar, but if it's not then it probably smells very different.
Since when was Marius one of the owners of Imperial Oud?

Yea please check your facts before posting as it spreads misinformation. Marius was not a part of Imperial Oud ltd.

I was under the same impression, I think saw it mentioned in a video or post somewhere, which I can't find at the moment but it mentioned just as much.

I can definitely see why it has a fan base, it’s one of those oils you’ll either love it or hate it! I like smoky notes in Oud, however Cambodi Smoke pushes it a touch too far for my tastes. How much different is the second version?..

So truly said about Hindi oils. I didn't get the opportunity to smell the Aljanah series nor the famed Qandahar 2 by ASO but I had Oud Isa from Ensar Oud and the honeyed oudyness was just unbeatable. Zuhayr from Aso was also a great oil with honeyed oudyness and the only Hindi I had from ASO
Aside from the unbeatable Al Malek Al Hindi & Al Malek Al Kalakassi, my very favourite is Zuhayr & I own several from ASO.
‘Honeyed’ is a great description, it definitely has a mature resinous sweetness. It’s pretty much the perfect Hindi profile, the buttery animalic leather, amber, floral, sun baked hay dry down is heavenly.

It’s worth noting Zuhayr is from Bangladesh. The only other Bangladeshi oil I own is another from ASO called ‘Aseel’. I believe they are from a similar region (Chittagong Hill Tracts) distilled in 2017 & 2018, however Zuhayr is wild & Aseel is organic. Although Aseel is an masterclass in how to distill a traditional Hindi oil from organic wood, you can’t compare them as Zuhayr is too exquisite!

A note from the brand regarding Zuhayr - “The overall profile is reminiscent of the top-notch no-longer-available vintage Hindis, but whereas those oils could be flat, Zuhayr shimmers with life.”
