It's amazing. Another one that I had the thought to add ambergris into. Oceanic bliss.
Oud is amazing. I remember back when the only Oud oil I owned was a bottle of Saif Al Hind - Ajmal, if you told me then that Oud oil can smell like the ocean I wouldn’t have believed it! We are truly blessed to have developed a taste for this incredible aromatic. It will be a life long relationship.

Some cheap Thai oil from etsy
Costs $28/ml

I believe this oil is derived from trat. It's sweet and oudy but doesn't seem to have much else going on. Maple syrup like sweetness but a little too much for my liking. This was the first oud oil I ever bought and got me hooked but now that my nose is more developed, I find that it lacks complexity. Part of me wants to throw this oil away but the other part wants to keep it for the sentimental value.
I wish I didn't buy 6ml of this stuff 🥲

It's always worth hanging onto a little bit of any memorable oil for better or worse. I still have a mL of my first oud! It is kind of grounding a couple of decades down the line to be able to revisit it.

Ceylon - Fushigi

A stripped down sri lanka for sure. Somehow just the floral and slight fruit elements with a vanillic woody musk backbone that could almost pass as vietnamese. None of the sour seaweed musty ocean water notes found in most sri lanka oils. Interesting but I can see certainly not everyones taste.

Yusa pursat encense

In my previous post, I was typing it based on the initial top notes but today unlike before I applied it on my collar and after about 6 hours of wearing I'm catching whiffs of it which is now a bit muskier than on skin especially in the dry down. The wet soil/fertilzer note which was slightly offputting to me is gone. Applying on the clothes is the way to go for this one.

A dab of the old Tarakan Qadeem from @mesOUD

This was my every day carry for quite a while until I became nervous about losing the bottle (after having temporarily misplaced it once).

It's always an interesting experience going back to a former daily wear when you haven't worn it for a while.

As you all have experienced, when you smell the same thing every day your olfactory system adapts and the aroma starts to be perceived differently. Coming back after a month or more of having not smelled it, it hits quite differently. At the moment I am perceiving notes that almost bring a resinoid or extract to mind... there is a rich fullness to the heart of this oil that almost seems more than simple distillation. I assume this is the magic of the effects of time. I've also been smelling quite a few candy-like CK oils and in contrast this is quite dark, heavy, and complex. It reminds me of some CO2 extracts a little bit but is far more complex than any CO2 extract I have smelled. I get some kind of clove and cinnamon like facets that were less obvious to me in the past that I associate with carbon dioxide extracts.

Very interesting material, if someone had just handed it to me blind I would be guessing it is a mixture of high quality carbon dioxide extract and essential oil. I think that richness is a sign of the age though not the literal presence of any co2 extract

What an experience! Purple & White florals kinamic blast swimming in a pool of aromatic honey. Although it smells like a new gen oud oil, it has the dark & deep resinous allure transporting you to the ouds of old times.
It starts with a smooth and fizzy texture at the same time, radiating all the powdery, sweet iris & jasmine floral aromas in its best, call it kinamic quality. It transforms to an even smoother and smoother experience with the honey aroma being more accentuated, tropical fruity touches of ripe mangos & guavas reminiscent of beautiful walla patta oils and a beautiful nutty touch keeping the sweetness in balance throughout the whole wear.
As it is a complex oil, I like to focus and mention the unique and most transportive nuances of the oil.
This one really touches your feelings and elevates your mood!
Thank you Mesoud 💜

Koh Zen - Al Hind Oud, A new one for me having received it only yesterday. It has the tiniest amount of barn when sniffing from the bottle but once on the skin this no longer exists. Again, sniffing from the bottle it doesn't appear to be particulary strong but only a very small dot is needed for it to launch into full spectrum projection mode. Pure diesel this one with very deep over ripe fruits. I'm really loving these "thaquil" ouds. @Al-Hind Oud what is the vintage year for this oil?

It’s 6-7 years old I might’ve mentioned wrong year on the label, did I?
