Did a side by side of Omar and Omar II from @An Najwa. I can see why they bear the same name, and I find the new version to be appealing in a similar way to the original. Very rich, complex Hindi profile with a balance of woody, agrestic and resinous qualities. Gives you that sense of a rich possibly fermented product but doesn't pick up any of the persistent dull wet wood or bandaid / iodine notes make up a large part of the experience of some Hindi oud I have smelled.

Is it similar to the NT oils from Ensar, IO or Fushigi?
NTLTD from EO is on another level beyond all of these oils. Definitely not worth $10,000 a bottle though lol.

NT from Fushigi is ok, it’s pretty light. I enjoy it and it’s ok for the price. Though some here were rather disappointed by it, I get good performance on my skin from it.

Nha trang ultima from IO was pretty good but a bit too fruity for me and not as good as NTLTD, so I ended up selling mine.

Personally I find crassna oils in general boring and off putting. So that’s why I haven’t enjoyed my nha trang oritsu swipes - too much basic crassna going on. And in general, Vietnamese oils really wouldn’t be top of my list due to this.

From what I understand, all of these are sinensis oils. I’m not sure about Oritsu though. At least someone here said with confidence that NTLTD is Sinensis and NT ultimately and Fushigi are similar enough that I would assume they are the same species.

Fushigi NT is not nearly as good as NTLTD or NTU to me, but I would still put it in the same category of scents.

NTU is very good. Not as good as NTLTD to me but still very good and again, it’s in the same category. There are a lot of people who can’t even tell the difference between NTU and NTLTD.

Btw NTLTD is only $5000 but I don’t know if that significantly changes anything for you. He has other NT oils like NT Privee and NT sinking that are $10000 per bottle.

This oil was so popular and it is indeed beautiful, a perfume in itself. Good news is Raja Hijau 2 is ready to rock and roll and it smells fantastic, im in the mid phase of the oil and im smelling equatic, floral, candy laced in a cloud of low chip heat. A real rollercoaster of a ride.
Man oh man. If it smells anything like the first then put me down for a gram please.

Enjoying royal sumatra ,I don't know why but AA oils seem to be only skin scents ,no projection whatsoever compared to traditionally distilled oils .
I dowsed my self and yet no projection even though I do tend to smell the oils for hours after application. Even with moisturizer applied ,any tips for projection guys?
I always felt this was pretty strong.

I've pulled out all the Hindi ouds I have from MesOud and have started today with Dehnal Oud Hindi Mix. Please correct me if I have spelled that wrong, the writing is quite small even with my glasses on. It's very nice, quite strong and heavy wood notes but nothing offensive or particularly barn yard whatsoever. This may be a challenge finding the right words to describe Hindi's for me. I'd definitely wear this more often.

EMW 2022 - Rising Phoenix.

This is best oil I’ve experienced from RPP. New gen perfection, beautifully clean but with a resinous, rounded, complex, full bodied profile.
A co-distillation of Malaysian Beccariana & Microcarpa, woods originating from West Malaysia peninsula & Sabah (Malaysian Borneo). A truly unique oil & in my opinion a must try for anyone who is a connoisseur of Malaysian oils.

The top note is a bright, yet brief minty camphor. However, EMW isn’t one of your classical green, jungle, aromatic, incensey Malaysian oils, once the top note subsides the heart notes develop into an absolutely stunning purple character. Purple florals, berries, plums, purple grape syrup, cola, bitter almond, marzipan, complete with the most vivid realistic maraschino cherry note! Atypical for a Malaysian oil, however one does sense the signature dark, austere West Malaysian resinous-white floral character among all the syrupy-floral purple tonality.

As the oil transitions into the base notes, the purple character remains, yet the profile becomes darker, deeper, less playful, spicy, slightly musky with a beautifully rich Agarwood resin note emerging, one can easily sense the high grade of wood used to distill this oil. For most of this phase, EMW recalls the aroma of a sinking grade Oud chip starting to bubble on the sub at a low heat. Not smoky, just that heavenly Agarwood-sweet resinous aroma. Tonka, Vanilla, Cola, Grape syrup, Maraschino Cherry, Dates, Spices, Musk & Incense.

The oil isn’t cheap, I cherish this 1g & only swipe it lightly on the back of my hand a few times a year, simply to study its wonderful aroma.
While I very much respect JK & his aesthetic, sometimes I feel the sheer volume of oils & products he produces, can be overwhelming & real masterpieces like EMW can get lost & buried in the catalogue. This oil is worth much more attention than it currently gets. I’ve owned it for several years, it keeps getting better & better. No other oil I own or have tested smells like it, highly highly recommended!

Have you tried Emperor Kedah from Jinkoh Store? This sounds a lot like the way I experienced that profile. Is there any similarities?

I have tried emperor of Kedah V2 and EMW is pretty much completely different from my memory. Not sure about V1.

But also I can see how the description applies to V2 and if it’s similar to V1 then just understand that the description looks the same but describes something very different.

One example which is very prominent is the ‘purple’ note. To me, the purple note in EOK2 is quite active and asserts itself. Something like the ‘purple’ taste and color of grape juice.

The ‘purple’ of EMW is very different. I smell something similar in many kalbar oils and some other Borneo oils. Something like Purple Kinam from Ensar or Kinabalu Gold from Al Hind Oud if you have smelled either of those. I’m having trouble thinking of more examples but I know they exist. In my mind it’s more of a light lavender purple color, nearly white. It has a sort of floral powdery scent.

And for that reason, I would guess that the purple note comes from the Bornean portion of the wood; not from the Peninsula. Just a guess.

Oriscent Hainan LTD with sinking hainan on heater!
[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day

Pure, elegant and clear, lotus, plum, goose pear and honey spleen
Beautiful nugget

Next Hindi for me is Dehnal Oud Hindi Siraj - MesOud. Much stronger than the one with a similar title from yesterday. Band-aid note is very much in front along with a cheese? Probably should have waited till my partner left for work before trying this one lol.

Merauke Qadeem - Oudique - the classic filaria profile from this region, but ironed out so no rough edges remain! Imagine a classic dark Merauke, with its notes of dark polished leather and smoke but interlaced throughout with a cola note, lending sweetness and charm. Nothing bitter or burned in sight, instead you'll get pitched black resin notes, lightly spiced with just a dash of tart citrus, both of which help elevate the resin notes, making them airier throughout the wearing. The dry down approaches those bubbly resinous facets but with a paradoxical lightness, reminiscent of a recently fumigated room with Merauke chips. The interplay of these traditionally non Merauke type notes makes this such an enjoyable wear, if someone were to ask me, from this first couple of wearings, I'm getting 70% filaria and 30% gyrinops, considering the oils of these species I've tried out

Edit: The deep dry down of this gives rise to the most incredible vanillic baked goods note, first time experiencing this in an oil from here

EO - Assamugo Senkoh

I love this oil because it reminds me of walking around the local riparian reserve. It’s the aroma of rich, rotting wood with sweet sun kissed hay, a touch of dried fruits and clean barnyard aromas. Very smooth and sultry even.

There’s something about the way riparian reserves smell when the sun hits all the wet woods just right. There’s a sweet, balsamic quality to the air and a clear “fresh mulch” aroma. It’s not the aroma of a swamp but rather an oasis in the desert. That’s what Assamugo Senkoh smells like to me.

As it dries down I get a creamy, milky tea like aroma with hay and leather.
