I've been wondering about this one. I've been on the search for some Oud Boran from Habzoud and someone came back to me saying that he believed Oud Extraordinaire smelled the same.
Just did a quick side by side comparison, from the dipsticks not actually on skin. OE is way younger and much more fruity smelling than Oud Boran. Oud Boran also has that industrial smell to it, which I think you crave just as much as myself, it's not really there in OE. Also for what its worth, they're from different regions, though that might not be a significant differentiator in this situation

Thanks for that. You and @Castingshadows just saved me $100 on getting a sample. Oud Boran for the win!

I havent tried oud boran so I couldn't tell you if there's any resemblance but I must admit that whenever I swipe this oil, there is always a little reluctance as I am not a big fan of this one either.

Enjoying this tonight and you describe it perfectly here, worth a highlight
Raja Hijau I feel like I talk about here all the time, but wearing it with the other oil has revealed just how airy and vaporous it really is. The initial blast of blue aquatic candy florals and gasoline is truly something special on this one. Like gasoline vapors of crushed up jasmine and blue hard candies are being lifted into your nose. There’s a syrupy sweetness to the scent that starts to become more prominent as it sits. Lemon-lime like citrus syrupy soda and beach shore brisk air, and airy heady florals.

Mt first time trying a Vietnamese oil, I have no other experience to compare it to so I hope it’s a genuine Vietnamese that I got
It’s a dark colored, mobile liquid, smells and looks fairly new.
I can smell a deep forest resinous opening in it, black charred wood, not really a smoke note but a burnt wood or burnt sugar scent, with a latex like smell. Along with a bitter herbal or medicinal note.
There’s a light musky leather scent as well, and a little floral scent. I don’t know what to expect but this is the best description I could give.
It’s not very sweet nor complex, a sign of newly distilled oils I found is that their notes are quite simple and easy to seperate and recognize, with older aged ouds especially very old (over 10 years) it’s a lot more complex, the notes all blend into each other and you have to study it for a long while.

RPP's Dawki tonight. Nothing better than a beast of a hindi on a cold winter night. I really love traditional deg and bapka distillations in the winter months. So warm and comforting - like being wrapped in a blanket next to a fireplace filled with blazing logs of pure oud 😅

I haven't really been wearing oils much the past couple years, but I've taken the opportunity this Christmas break to dig up the old stash and go through some of my favorite cold weather wears.

This past week I've also enjoyed RPP's Trashigang Dzong and Kakawit, EO's Hindistan Kala, and Dr. Incense's vintage Laos.

Elixir attar Kagaku

A hainan oil with a strong medicinal opening, particulary getting a licorice/star anise type note but there's is a freshness about it as well. To me it smells a bit like sage or oakmoss but somehow gives off a citrusy spice scent and dries down nicely to a comforting oud. I love swiping this one!

Personally, I don't wear big houses' (EO, Agaraura, asaq, etc.) ouds that much...I didn't wear any of them at all for the last few years. But I like a few cheap, mainstream products sold by local vendors in Saudi Arabia....I am currently wearing a blend I made myself consisting of 1/4T Laotian, 1/2T South Thailand, 1/4T Malinau. After making and acquaintance with the oil after blending (it took around a month for the oils to merge well together), I'm getting a hue of paint like top notes followed by honeydew with fruits and a cloak of smoke for the entire duration. The dying notes are typical thai/cambodi scents given the generous amounts of South Thailand oud I added to the mix. These oils are quite affordable. I paid something like 400- 500 dollars for all of them. The blend is my current Oud of the day/week. I give it a grade of 3.5/5 since the blend didn't go 100 percent as I was hoping for. But any who smells me gave very good impressions about it.

Which version do you have? Because one of them wasn’t a Hainan at all but was made to smell like a Hainan through distillation techniques. I know the original smelled much, much better than the second version.

There’s nothing quite like cheap oils that smell like paint.

That right there is an absolute treasure. You are very lucky to have such an amount. Pure gold.

This oil was so popular and it is indeed beautiful, a perfume in itself. Good news is Raja Hijau 2 is ready to rock and roll and it smells fantastic, im in the mid phase of the oil and im smelling equatic, floral, candy laced in a cloud of low chip heat. A real rollercoaster of a ride.

Enjoying royal sumatra ,I don't know why but AA oils seem to be only skin scents ,no projection whatsoever compared to traditionally distilled oils .
I dowsed my self and yet no projection even though I do tend to smell the oils for hours after application. Even with moisturizer applied ,any tips for projection guys?

Not much you can do to increase projection. Some oils are just meant to be skin scents.

One thing you can do is try to put them on a warmer spot on your skin. In general heat helps.

Personally, a lot of those oils become summer oils and they sit in storage during the winter, or I only swipe them when I am sitting and it’s easy to lift my hand near my nose.

Thanks ,I thinks that's the best course of action ,I will keep it as a summer scent .

Oud alnamir - Habz

This reminds me a lot of Blue Malay from Agar aura, though with out any Malay sweetness. The blue top notes and spicy core are similar from what I recall. Alnamir is certainly a stronger, louder, and longer lasting oil though. Ive been swiping tiny dots and trying to stretch to sample out since I believe it is a fresher oil, so Im curious to see how it will develop.

Either way, solid oil.
