Same here and it stayed +16 hours on my wrist even after 2 wudus.
That is one of differences of true incense grade material brother, sure that is not the only difference.
Even you smell an oil distilled from shavings of that woods as called “İncense grade” at first look their scent profile will look some same ,but complexity, duration, the notes will become in time, layers they have are different.
And that is something which everyone cant understand with a quick sniff
If I could get my 'fumes to last 16 hours, I'd be very happy.

Old fermented Lao sinensis (like the HM Royal Lao) is some wild stuff for sure, and so radically different from Lao crassna! I know what you mean about the cheese and I know what you mean about it coming across almost like an old Hindi. Genetically, sinensis is closer to agallocha than other species according to one genetic analysis that I reviewed so it doesn't surprise me that the fermented sinensis might come across like a Hindi. I have some fermented plantation sinensis from Yuzhi and it has some of the qualities of Hindi fermented oils for sure. A particular smooth chocolatey type of fermentation aroma.

My dear brother I am glad you noticed that as well…
I already asked to know if someone noticed the similarities between Laos and Hindi oils …
For exemple To my nose Lao 4k drying down in a clean suede leather with berries that remind me Manipur Hindi oils … particularly EO Shuayb…
I remember I did a side by side few years ago and except the Opening of Top notes , the heart and base notes sharing similarities…
Laos got Crassna and Sinensis tree … that is maybe why I love this region so much !
Full Crassna isn’t my favorite Aquilaria species to be honest…
It is very hard for me to find a good Cambodian oil and even Thai (except South Thai) Subintegra seems to fits better with my taste …
Sinensis I love also but I didn’t tried enough wild Sinensis to be able to talking about it confidently…
I think Vietnam got both Sinensis and Crassna …?
Laos is my favorite region with Hindi followed by Malay & Borneo
The most Satisfying and meditative are Laos , Hindi … the most energizing are Malay and Borneo to my mind
Also I noticed recently something with Borneo Oils … they sharing similarities with Silani oils 😅 A lot to my nose !
Is anyone noticed this also ?
Is there an explanation?
Gyrinops available in Borneo?
Is Filaria , Hirta , Beccariana présent in Sri Lanka? I thought there were only Gyrinops there… are maybe these subspecies are cousin ?
Very curious about this …

We must have a similar taste - crassna oud also generally does not excite me very much, I also don't have any Thai oils that I would choose to wear even though I have accumulated quite a few hoping they would improve with age. (@mesOUD has made some wild crassna oils that are changing my mind however - deep complex multi layer etc.).

From what I have heard both Laos and Vietnam have crassna snd sinensis. I also would love to sample more wild sinensis oil.

I have seen absolutely striking similarities between borneo and silani oils for sure. The really fine specimens I have smelled are kind of shape shifters they start smelling like their own unique regional type but the base notes are just like some of my Borneos. I actually love that about those oils - the specimens I have from @AlHind Oud and @Habz786 really pleased me in terms of the surprise plot twist about halfway through the evaporation process.

Lately, the word “Borneo” has started to feel meaningless to me, just like the word “Kinam.”
Honestly, “Borneo” does nothing but create confusion for me.
Borneo currently spans three countries and contains many different varieties.
Even when they are the same species, each has its own unique profile.
For example, a Malaccensis from the Sabah region is very different from one from Sarawak, Brunei, or Sintang.
Similarly, a Microcarpa from Tarakan, while sharing some similarities, is still different from a Microcarpa from Malinao.
I believe that instead of saying “Borneo,” we should specify the exact and specific region.
Anything else is just unnecessary confusion in my opinion.

A very good point, in my case part of the problem is that many of my specimens come from a time where details were not shared as readily, so I have over the years received a number of oils that were simply called "Borneo" without any further information. I don't have any kind of understanding of the relationship between the region of Borneo and the characteristics of the aroma.

In the case of the oils from Sri Lanka, I think they remind me of some (not all) of my oils said to be from Malinau addition to a couple of my unspecified "Borneo" oils

Same here bro…
I have “Borneo” oil without so much information, i have smelled few Malinau which i think comes from there …
I smelled Sabah , Tarakan , Kalimantan Bruneï… but again I found they sharing similarities…
Borneo is probably one of my favorite place where I traveled… and it is also for Oud … maybe the diversity of different species gives a specific Character to the final result …
The deep wild jungles from North to south & west to Est with the endemic fauna & flora can playing a big role …
I’ve heard the same tree from same species at few kilometers can smell totally different because of the wildlife neighborhood …
It is probably same for other countries maybe ?
Why in Sumatra Island for exemple , there isn’t as much different species than Borneo island ?
Is it because of the geologic floor or Climate ?
Other questions coming, is it possible to find hybrid between Aquilaria subspecies? Hirta pollinate Filaria ?
Also is there special Region where Aquilaria are more naturally infected than everywhere else?

I too wonder about cross pollination, and subspecies, and how much is known about gene flow among the different types of agarwood out there

Several large studies have been conducted concerning species, hybridization, etc.,
Available at PubMed and Research Gate ; check DNA Barcodes for Aquilaria species.
Technical data, specific markers sequenced to determine species and assign "barcodes" primarily to track trading, salient info for the curious....

My introduction to Oudh oils has not been typical, it was purely analyses of samples for a client. I did find a few to be pleasing to me but had no idea of source, location, species etc..
To jump in and attempt to digest so many subjective opinions and thoughts on a single subject is by no means an easy go for me as I am used to hard date, mathematical analyses, etc.....
I can only decide if an aroma is pleasing to me after I experience a composition, honestly have not been able to set up a flow chart for myself based on experiences of other purveyors.
I ask for patience and understanding when I ask what appear to be "foolish, amateur" questions. Time is required for assimilation of experiences prior to formulating an opinion I consider to be valid for myself.
While I enjoy reading the poetic descriptions of the Oudh oils and perfumes an incense everyone records so eloquently, to be honest it makes me feel like I am trying to read "Beowulf" in original form.
I may be slow on the uptake of descriptors commonly utilized, but when I truly enjoy an aroma I know it, yet this is not mutually exclusive when considering appreciation of the thoughtfulness and labor that was required for each and every quality product.
None of my comments carry malicious intent, I am simply obsessively curious.
Thank you for your patience in advance.

Habzoud Zamarad 3
Earthy without moldy trail, not menthol but stronger than minty upon opening, deep dry woodiness, sublime incense that is not overpowering.

I forgot to list this above...
I have version 2 of Zamrad, it's a nice rich oil and one that I have stashed in the "good stuff" box. 🙂
