Jaya Qadeem of Habzoud - nearly two decades' aged, wild, obviously from Jayapura of Papua New Guinea:
Cool in nature, delicate in character, clear in 'voice' and elegant in overall projection - utterly clean throughout, free from fermented funk - with somewhat camphory opening that quickly dissipates into the maritime-forest theme, with a flowing transition between its hues:
driftwood, fresh marine air, mineralic moisture of withered rocks, antique laquered and polished Japanese furniture; with subtle undertones of iodine bitterness (which I personally adore) and fresh 'leafiness', that occasionally (and surprisingly) morph (in the mid-phase) into a phantom of green rosebuds. As it goes in the drydown, delicate shades of bitter and powdery zest (Selery seed?) and Cresol make intriguing and subliminal, transparent appearance (it took me a while to 'catch' those and comprehend);
overall - Jaya Qadeem demonstrates a beautifully balanced play of Shadow and Light, of woody density and seaspray airiness, of Harmony of the Elements - of Water, Earth and Air;
it imbues me with a feel of Serenity, Freedom and Calm.
Compliments to the Artisan.

AlMokhlif Oud - Special Prachin + ASQ - Rose Taifi

The prachin starts off dark and minty so I added some oomph in the form of Rose Taifi.

So far this morning I have swiped - Malinau Maliki - Habzoud. Giving those expensive mahogany/teak furniture vibes today. I still think this needs age and won’t show its best for some time. The initial minty blast I was getting when the oil first arrived is much more subdued now.

Then I swiped Al Hind Dhahab - Habzoud. Definite contender for my favourite oud oil of all those I have bought so far. I like high-barn Hindis, but this is so seductive, silky, fruity and has loads to offer besides the traditional barn and hay notes. Just great.

I agree with all that. It's really very lovely. And a very nice review as well mate. I just wish it was a little louder. I have to be in the right environment for me to get good performance from this oil which is difficult for me to predict, otherwise I waste it. I don't have enough of it to swipe away with abandon. Actually, today might be a good day for it. 😀 @Kai Leon Art Perfumer, do you wear Jaya Q on your skin/beard or clothing? I get most out of this oil on clothing.

SQ Burmese from @Clyff6ix - what a gift, I don’t feel I deserve your generosity my brother

A tiny dot and I get hit with non-fecal barn and a beautiful minty camphor menthol… Normally barn makes me repulsed, but I just keep coming back again and again to this little dot. Maybe my tastes are evolving?

Now 10 minutes in I’m getting leather.

It’s now been an hour and I’m still actually keeping those upper notes the minty smell and I still have some of that clear barn underneath… Wow, what a great oil.

Majid Iterji - Cambodi Srae Ambel

Good morning Ouddicts,

Today I'm wearing Cambodi Srae Ambel. Its a dark red oud that starts off with wild berry notes. The heart has similar notes - almost perfumed. The bottom denotes a woody, earthy and muddy scent profile. Its a very beautiful Oud indeed.

I wear Jaya Qadeem rather sparingly (once in a while on a quiet evening on my own) - just as a dot of a daub (or three) on my wrist and forearm to appreciate it as it is, but the most of it (of 3 ml bottle) went into a personal perfume for a customer - as an ingredient, as a nuancing note with other, more loud Ouds.
