Hi Salam dear ouddicts 🙂

I was busy this last month, but my ouddiction isn’t slowing down …

I swiped two Marvelous oils …

MesOud Sinan
Habz Malinau Maliki

Sinan is unbelievable…
What I thought I knew, is very different from the reality…
Sinan doesn’t smell like usual Borneo oil I smelled and absolutely nothing like Malinau 😅
This is more similar to Anas and Kelandah than other Borneo I have … to me it smell very much like Tarakan , Brunei …
The opening is very Pineapple, Mangoes , with lemon juice , some pear juice , then turns cola , Cinnamon , library old books and dry woods …
Later I get nutmeg and clove !
This oil start yellow, then turns orange and finally purple …
Powdery purple flowers and pollen with some honey …
Amazing oil with depth and complexity…
Again an impressive oil which will improve in future !
This is a beast !

Habz Malinau Maliki is the best mix of camphor and vanilla !
The right dose of both …
Really this is one of my favorite Malinau oil to date … remind me some faces of B3K , AA Royal Malinau , Malinau Qi…
Malinau sultan is very close to this oil with maybe more complexity and incensy vibe and less camphor …

I wish you all a very Gooud swipe

A couple in one shot, since I forgot to post last week. The Kinana delivery continues to surprise.

Ceen Kodo
Opens with barnyard off the dipstick, enough that I wondered if this was a Hindi for a minute, but then I get... Dr Pepper? Once the drydown kicks in, the musk and propolis notes definitely come to the fore. After 4-5 hours it turned into a very clear base of sweet purple resin that reminds me of a cleaner version of the CO2-extract "Purple Kyara" oil I got a couple years ago.
It's interesting for its transitions, and for hitting that kyara note at such a reasonable price point.

Ambon
A touch of fermentation off the dipstick, then following through grass, a whiff of florals, lemon balm? petrichor, and wood. At first I thought the fermentation would drag it down, but it fades fairly quickly and leaves a muskiness that complements the rest nicely. This is a genuinely interesting oil for me, and I've had to wear this for a few days running to properly capture it for this post.

[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day

The Oud Trader - Cultivated Aged Cambodi [unreleased] (sample)

I don’t know if this is aged 3.5 years or 35 years, the text on the vial is not clear. However, this is a really balanced Oud. With traits of bitter South Thai and Cambodia terroir going about it. It smells both earthy with notes of grass and dirt, and aquatic. There are slight notes of dried fruit but it keeps switching between those two profiles that I mentioned it’s hard to ground this to a specific region if I was blindfolded. Very lovely. I think I prefer the wild ones from TOT though.

Tonight is my beloved Kedah Sultan - Habzoud.

This is my favourite oil for daily wear, although I haven't worn much oud for 6-7 weeks.

Just a small dot on each wrist for this evening.
Man, I have missed this one so much!
I've had to dig this one out this morning. I agree, it is spectacular for sure. I rarely wear it due to it's preciousness but that is such a waste.
