Habz Vintage Borneo strikes me as a very settled Malinau oil, with practically no camphor or mint, and minimal scent progression.

I immediately notice the vanilla and resin, then I get hit by oudiness. This one is semi-psychoactive.

Anything peppery, floral, and berrylicious lies directly underneath the opening, and gradually surfaces till all is vertically even and in equal proportions.

Anything loud was lost with age, but remains at a happy medium.......with staying power.

An all-around good specimen.

Wearing this one today...actually was transferring from one vial to another, so wearing a lot of this one today...😀
It really is an excellent oil...smooth, rounded...slight mintiness...just enough to make it feel fresh...i get the peppery, floral, not so much the berries though...
Such a beautiful scent...a perfect perfume oud...
Perhaps some psychoactivity is indeed there, im having trouble focusing on this post...:Roflmao:

Winter is Coming!
And there will be Oud everywhere. The best time for me to LIVE Oud is the tenth of December onwards.

Wearing:
Nagaland Oud: A cozy wave of warmth
Yunan Oud: Peppery heat
Hindi Oud: A dancing orange-y flame
Sumatran Oud: Nectar to slowly increase body temperature

Heating:
Wild Malaysian
Wild Assamese
Wild Sri Lankan
Cultivated Thai

Still the longing for more Oud is there to stroll into the very heart of Oud jungles on fire. What Oudwood on the coal is to me at the moment is not Oudwood oil on my hands.

Malik - Habzoud

Opens with a strong sourness, like lemon rind lifted off the compost heap, then a dank bitter green, feels herbal medicinal, with mossy inflections, a bit like the bitter that oozes out of a flower stem just cut. This is a dark green verging on black, dense, and intense, especially for the period that the sourness rides along. It probably takes 2-3 hours for the sourness to subside but that green is still like a wall that I keep jumping up to see over. Oddly, it softens rapidly thereafter and I eventually get to a nice white peppered woodiness.

This is not really my kind of oud,
my sample is ready to be forwarded to someone who might better enjoy such a profile.
Come and claim.
