I’m with Sproaty on that one...Thai oils have almost all been tough for me. A certain someone mentioned that the drydown on Thai oils have a “raw meat” note...after reading that, I couldn’t help but smell that and it bugs me. Haven’t tried any Thai oils from JK, but the only one that hasn’t had that note was Mardelong.

I concur that Thai oils do best when applied in tiny quantities. One of my feel oud Thais is hard to enjoy when fully swiped but almost perfect when smelled in tiny wafts.

I wonder if these Thai oils will all settle with time and become amazing as they age? I suspect some of these “artisanal” cultivated Thais will smell absolutely amazing in a decade as things are allowed to oxidize a bit.

Al Sukar 2 from HabzOud; Masha Allah what an Oudh, I don't need to see any videos, pictures or stories the smell of this oil speaks to me. Whilst I don't get sugar or any sweet smell in this oil, I get the initial aromas from a resinous Malay chip on low heat, that dark dense slightly minty menthol scent with a touch of bamboo, now imagine instead of that smell coming from a heated wood chip it comes from -40 C supernova wind chill. This is out of a sample vial that was sitting on my shelf for a few weeks waiting for me to get to it. This would be intense from a full bottle without oxygen effect. Well-done Habz

Sounds wonderful!

Back from Vacay...
In true ouddict fashion I didn’t waste time, swiped right away, Sultan Afnan
and in my mailbox was Green Kinam from China,
I heated it right away
[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day

The aroma is definitely Kyara.

So by that time I’m all good,
but good is not enough,
I need smoke..........so I light Koshiboku,
and more oud please......so I swiped Jannah on my other wrist.

I’m back to where I need to be,
all juiced-up with Aloeswood 😉

For those interested in the green kinam......

but it has to be heated gently :handok:
