This morning

AH Adnan & IO Malindang

I don’t get it....Philippine agarwood does very well when heated.....copius amounts of fumigation,
but the oils....leave me wanting more in the aroma department, but they do last very long.

The oils seem to lean towards the resin, and when compared to Walla Pattas, lack any punch:handfist:

I suppose they will be good for meditation, where a gentle oil will compliment the serenity.

I will revisit these oils from time to time, because I seem to perceive them a little differently each time. Like when I swiped Malindang after getting home from work last night, I picked up more of the top notes, and the resin scent reminded me of the resin in the Malaysian EO Oud Sultani, but this morning, not so.

partial scent brothers :handfist::handfist:
I think I agree with the Adnan, nice up top but now it's somewhat flat and as you said, lacking

Feel Oud Green Chocolate (Sumatra)
after all these years, the top notes still shine
reminds me of Agar Aura Ketenangan (Sumbawa),
and to a lesser degree HO Wahah.

I was sitting on a couple tiny free samples of this oil for over 4 years........always wishing that I had purchased a bottle.......then “lo and behold”,
it came up for sale here on Ouddict.
Boooooyah!, scored it!
Just goes to show what a wonderful resource this forum can be. Vive La Ouddict!

Was this one of his co distillations or a chocolatey oud oil?

Mareuke madness this evening:
AA Purbakala which seems like it is nearing full development. Moist jungle floor and bittersweet notes with a rugged texture.
EO Maroke Asgon. Slightly honeyed and less moist/ marine than Purbakala. Soft-smooth texture. Both oils quite satisfying and in a similar grade/ quality realm IMO.
Habzoud wild Vietnam chip providing a warm vanillic/ cocoa and resinous aroma in the background.

Sunday Swipe : Agarwood Assam - Kalakassi Naga this oil is aging really well and now the barn has reduced substantially allowing top smokiness, chocolate notes to be more evident ....

Blended this with Top Grade Taif Rose by ASAQ which I picked up during my Hajj pilgrimage last year from Mecca ...

I get that note for max 5 min, after i get nutmeg ,deep oud and develop into incredible zesty grapefuit ,mandarin/lemon,citrusy smell with hints of vanilla ,evolution of this oil is handsdown ,dry down to die for [emoji14]

Interesting! On my skin I get that for the first two hours and then the focus shifts to all the rest that you described. Yep the drydown is lovely!

I'm gonna wear my Kalakassi Naga too, have barely swiped it since purchasing.
Have also swiped "Haflong Muhaldar". Both have the same exact colour but different profiles.

Habzoud AlSukar P2

For me represent indo oud perfectly, Iam a big fan of this type of oud.

Green fresh grass opening. then you have clean incense (not the smoky one), vanilla and sugar of course (Sukar mean sugar in arabic).

Projection and longevity are good for a smooth oud.

Royal kinam layered with ninjarob’s musk... can’t stop sniffing.

Oud Royale 1985

Vintage Sumatran Oud

I will guess that Sumatra is home to several breeds of it’s native agarwood species. This oil hints of Malaccensis. What did this oil smell like when it was young? I can’t help but wonder🙄

As an Ouddict, enjoying an oil has two parts,
the scent, and all the juicy details of it’s creation🙂

LMK - Eau de Vietnam
Damn, this is stunning! Age has done wonders. Have owned it for half a year and (I think from memory, anyway!) it's transformed a lot. Smooth with an ever so slight sweetness

Royal Bengal Ouds' Bandarban - lot more barnyard than I recall!

also an attar, Agar Aromas - Huong Howa. Reminds me of Kouros (my favourite scent every)
