Oud of the night enjoyment...
Sultan Afnan

Now I’m just plain spoiled rotten
with several knee buckling ouds in my arsenal
Sultan Afnan has an intense sweetness sitting atop the oudiness
the resinousness
bees wax
and a complex note that others had described as bug-like, but to me is more like a band-aid😀

Nha Trang Ultima on left hand and Hainan on right hand both are truly amazing oils. Need more time with the oils of course but Hainin Ultima is just awesome, reminds me of EO kinam rouge after 25 minutes of application.

Ordered yesterday from IO and received today in New York. Superb communication and super fast shipping!

@jalil - I agree that melon/fruit note is indeed very nice in royal Nha Trang

An oil on the quiet side, and young,
but don’t take those as a double negative.
It’s not weak by any means,
the light green bite, followed by a good amount of oudiness, and a complex Brunei profile with a little fruit.
Refreshing like a Mocktail with citrus and herbs on a sunny spring day, and based on how it aged so far, I anticipate constant improvements......
the best is yet to come🙂

Treasure Oud - Star Oud. Seems the barn in this is jumping out at me and I'm finding it a bit too sharp. It may be redundant in my collection, time to axe it perhaps...

Rising Phoenix - Qing 2018. This is turning into what I expected it today based on the 2016, was a bit disappointed when I first received it but it's cool to watch it change. It's lost its sorta sharp top notes and just goes on smooth and airy. Perhaps sharp is the wrong way to it, but it has this weird "bite" and felt sorta "off" until 30 mins or so. Now it's just lovely right away. BTW, bought on 10th Feb

I've not seen anyone else talk about this oil, I advise everyone to try it! Very airy, ethereal, oceanic (but not in a Sri Lankan way) - would love to hear others' thoughts

Day Swipe - ASO Marjaan

If I directly experience the dry down of Marjaan on someone I would say it's an incense based Attar with Oud, Sandalwood with hint of Vetiver but not an Oud Oil from Kelantan.

However before I share my journey with this oud I have to say it was a pleasurable aura filled day.

Opening of Marjaan feels like fresh grass, while you enjoy the green you slowly start to breathe vetiver within. About an hour gone and my nose felt a dominate Vetiver note with some spices and herbs trying to introduce themselves. Slowly post the 3 hour mark Vetiver is toned down and the Oudiness starts to show with a hint of sandalwood in the background. After an 8 hour mark the dry down is of an Attar with Oud, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Spices etc. I haven't experience something like this in my short Oud Journey.

ASO has named Marjaan - A Unique Oud I have no doubt about that anymore its indeed a unique one [emoji7]

Oudline Malay Super. This is peppery, earthy, vibrant and dense oily tangy oud perfection. I get more comments when wearing this than any oud in my collection.
