This morning.....
LMK Eau Du Vietnam
Nice oil!
Lacks longevity, but the profile is shaping up nicely with every month that it ages.

This evening....
EO Aroha Kush
To me it smells similar to Au Luong, and other Cambodis of that genre. At times it goes off on a tangent, smelling like a different region.
Clean and multifaceted, many interesting scents.
It is mildly incensy, and no smoke.
For most of the ride I have to come in very close to the skin to smell it. I wish it were louder.

Morning swipe : ASO Safaa

And now for night Swipe for Taraweeh I'm spoilt for choice cause new shipment arrived

IO- Nha Trang Ultima + Agar Aura Nha Trang incense sticks

Honestly I'm yet to get awed by a Vietnamese oil I have tried Kinam Rogue, IO - NHA Trang Royale and IO- Hoi An

But NTU is different to all I have tried so far. The bitter sweet medicinal opening shows its connection to Sinensis profile, Also the hint of Cinnamon note confirms its Sinensis. But but but as you spend time with it the oil starts to show some crassna based notes like florals and fruity but it's not overpowering the woody oudy notes.

I think this is a special oil and I'm glad I got an opportunity to first hand try this one. I dont know if I will ever be able to afford NHA Trang LTD but if what I've read on forums this is a close second to that and my best Vietnamese Oil by far.

Friday Prayer scent IO - Fragrant Harbour Imperial

This is a super oil the way it opens I haven't experienced an opening like this in a sinensis oil. I have tried Hainan 05, Hainan Imperial, Sinensis IV, Malek Al Ceen.

Its green honeyed wet earth opening and yes the honey note is very evident. And As the oil comes to it's own after an hour or so you start to get whiffs of Kinam which is so beautiful and it stays with u throughout. The dry down is like warm milk, with hint of Cinnamon on a bed of oudiness ...

I'm actually glad that brother Faizal to kept this aside, this was the last bottle they had left.

I went back to one of my favorite Organic Ouds

EO: Aroha Kyaku .. this Oud surely has potential to be blended with florals and yet have the muscles to show itself.

I have blended today AK with Rose Attar by Agarwood Assam and the combo is jst amazing....

The rose climbs up with a subdued Sandalwood note just to be tamed by the incense note of AK ... [emoji7]

Swiped the last bit of Agarwood Assam's Oud Naga from a sample Zak sent along with Lushai Hills.

This oil is a delicious example of the mysteries of oud. Months ago, my impression was of barny blue cheese, fading to dark woody pungence, not exactly an easy wear. Now, I swipe the oil and I get clean, crystalline salty lactic sweetness on top of warm spicy balsamic wood. With time, my nose has come to appreciate the core 'oudiness' that underlies high-quality wild oud, and I completely love the aura of deep soothing aroma.

let's see,
Still the 2 oils from earlier going strong 🙂

Agarwood Assam - Oud Naga, Kalakassi naga. Comparing the 2 as I have Naga for sale. It's sweeter, brighter, fruitier, not as animalic. Actually, very little barn or much typical Hindi besides a fruitiness (tamarind? I don't know - have never smelled this to make the connection)

Ensar - Midori Q (something like that) - sweet, Borneo oil. Not my cup of tea

IO - Yunan Imperial. Sweet smelling, pristine. Sinensis. Finally finished a sample! lovely woody character. smooth.

This morning I swiped IO's Sinensis III. It's so very different from other oud, I suppose because it is a CO2 extraction . . . a vivid burnt sugar aroma that is deep and evocative, but sadly quite linnear. It hits only one note, albeit pleasantly.

This helps me know why scent progression is so important - our noses (and taste buds) need developemt, and an unchanging fragrance brings about fatigue, no matter how initially beautiful.

Start the day with a grey marine note ambergris tincture, around 35%.

One of nature’s treasures, as agarwood is as well.

The scent is a lovely animalic.

I once tried an ambergris oil that was terrible🙁
Like rotten bad breath, so off putting, I can only appreciate refined (aged) ambergris

Right now...
People’s Sultan
Jolly Good!
I am really agreeable with the blend/co-distill,
it does a little acrobatics, I especially like it when the New Guinea surfaces more.
