This is an interesting oil for sure. The first thing I smell is a pronounced manuka note - like New Zealand tea tree mixed with a rich oudy woody mineral salty scent. This is combined with a tart, tangy crassna (?) heart that is really quite interesting and pleasant to sniff. I assume it’s crassna anyway.

For me personally most of the beautiful natural scents smell better in colder ambient temperature, below 26C. And oud is getting really mesmerizing, intoxicating, almost kind of spiritual scent in colder environment. All that stuff still smells very nice in hotter temperature, but I can't get grasp of the full potential of those fragrances.
Same for me. The air has to feel fresh for these oils to come alive. In hot weather swiping these just seems like a waste as I know I won't enjoy them as much.
But sometimes I just don't like strong scents in hot temperatures at all. That is why I like to wear sandalwood because it is more of a skin scent. Especially if mixed with hyraceum :Inlove:

It was a cooler evening yesterday so I wore Gangaridai by RPP. Now after sleep it shows its best colors as the dry down is very pleasant and still very noticeable.

Super nice but
Not quite enough volume so I went for a swipe of Hainan 05 from EO ,maybe 2 swipes
The mix is intoxicating and loud but not intrusive to those around me

Not intrusive as far as you know! I met this one parent at my daughter’s school. He is a great guy, very honest and direct. He is the only point of reference I can count on for “odor cloud” assessment. I have been SO surprised by the times he and his wife are like “whoah you smell great” from 2 meters way after I’ve applied like 1/10th of a drop of oud an hour earlier.

It is probably a good thing, but you smell stronger than you think! I don’t think anyone who regularly wears perfume or oud can have perspective on what they smell like to others since we all walk around in a cloud of this stuff and become fatigued to the scent.

It drives me crazy because I work in a pretty public context as a classroom teacher. I really want to be able to wear a subtle oud scent but never know what’s subtle.

Before making the acquaintance of the person I mentioned above, I just assumed no one could smell anything I was wearing unless they basically hugged me. It really amazes me how much others can smell oud and sandalwood even hours after application. I think I am quite desensitized due to daily wear.

I just wonder what all the people I encounter in my work on a daily basis notice, and what they think about the fragrance. On those rare occasions when my students have said something, it is usually to one another (mainly they are reminded of paint).
