EO Aroha Kush

I keep swiping this oil, because I’m trying to decide wether to get a spare bottle or not.
I have to wait for my Kakaya first, just incase I need to funnel my funds in that direction.

That EO Chiem Po Qi has got me curious as well.

I swiped Aroha Kush from a sample this morning too...first few hours there was a sweetness to it, perfumy almost...almost feminine to me...but after a couple of hours drydown is good & oudy oud...I can’t make up my mind... :Whistling:

On my left arm, super hoi an. Ahhh!

On my right, Rksons sandalwood. Cozy.

On my hands, a blend of the two. Absolutely horrible. Generic boring cloying bland oud scent. Kills the hoi an completely and results in it smelling the same as some cheap $20 ajmal oud - it’s like the sandalwood buries all the personality and just lets this dull slightly sour oud scent through.

I am reminded why I have a restraining order in effect in my home keeping all sandalwood the heck away from all oud (except maroke which is the only oud not destroyed by sandalwood).

my unpopular opinion: sandalwood and oud should literally never be layered or blended.

there is something about the maroke oils though. That type of oud is obviously quite different in chemical constituents and it somehow does not smell bad with sandalwood. It merges in a really vibrant woody way and the maroke pepper or spice punches through the heavy felt blanket of the sandalwood

Mystery oil sample from Habzoud

It smells like a very settled Hindi oil,
mildly fruity and just a little sweet,
with tobacco, leather, and nuts.
Oudy with a touch of incense vapor.

Nothing loud or abrasive,
has a neat composition,
and the barn is tame.

Reminds me of Mukhmil
and a little like Semkhor.

Update:
Nice oil!

Might be unpopular, but valid. They way mentioned merauke, try sandal with Thai. As I have no room for Thai, except either by mixing sandal or by layering sandal rose.

Thai and sandalwood is worse than either alone, to me. And I hear you about Thai oil. What I have smelled contains the potential greatness and lots of nice notes, but somehow trapped in a confusion of weird tart fruity notes and (too often) soaked wood funk. I am convinced that a Thai oil can be “perfect” or close to it. I can see the potential but it is shattered and never seems to come together in a single oil.

That's it! Exactly this one. Second, this is what ignited dormant allergy on my body. Now even its scent worsens the condition.

Now I hear the words Trat and my reflex action is to start scratching my wrist.

ASO - Kaashef

My opinion is ASO - This house is special with some real gems like Marjaan, Jannah, Al Rubai'ie and Hamms. Not many people speak much about them but I really like their signature style which according to me is more towards Arabic taste.

Kaashef is no different and this is such a beautiful Attar [emoji7]

Agreed - the ASO stuff is definitely in the classic style but done with exceptional care it seems. Every oil I have smelled has been quality.

RPP Annona (Malay 2018 from bead-grade wood)

Reminded me of a light Borneo until this super rich, custard like, milky sweet note appeared a while after the opening, parallel to the bright, light green, almost lime, tart, nearly effervescent top. OKAY
