J7 (private distiller)
Smells almost like L’essentiel Cambodgien ,
but there is a floral perfume note, the likes of which I never smelled in any oud. Either it is an added perfume, or cross contamination, or the effects of pot conditioning, due to a prior distillation of flowers.

Couldn't just be the oud?

Couldn't just be the oud?
That’s what I tried to tell myself, but after the second swipe I was convinced that the floral was foreign.

I was so busy that I skipped swiping yesterday,
So for today

Sultan Mujeeb
I wish all ouds were this powerful

Pai Sia Kan
underneath the barn and “perceived petrol”
there sits a very round creaminess

Cambodi Thai Blend
I mixed Cambodi Caramel with Saumanasa
the notes are not marrying,
I can still detect their individuality

Interesting. Does it have kinamic notes, would you say? (Please forgive my terminology if it isn't proper, I'm not hip on the florid prose in this context).

Your prose is acceptably florid. No worries.

IO Super Hoi An

It’s a gem of an oil
seemingly higher quality than advertised
I think the adjective “super” is merited. This is actually a decent name - super means above average, followed by the geographic origin. Respect to IO

So it’s good, and I should blind buy a sample or grovel for a mentor sample from one of you guys that has a bottle? 🙂

When I swiped it, kinam didn’t enter my mind, so no.... it’s not kinamic. But if you try, you can probably wrestle a little kinam out of the profile, after all, oud can have very many facets.

I am just so thirsty for oud and chips today
for my nitecap, three tiny dot swipes.
Agar Aura Dao
Aroha Kush
both quiet oils, but I like to come in close and listen. The Dao has a complex nature, and sets my head in a whirl, I had it listed on ebay, but never again, I’m keeping this guy for many future study moments. The Aroha Kush, peeps like a mouse, you really have to come in close, but I like the Au Luong style profile, served on a solid Cambodi backbone. Back to Dao, and I’m in awe, it billowed a little strength and still, quite complex.
The third tiny dot swipe on the other arm is Czar Ceylon. It opens like an unorchestrated garage band, what a mess, but then all that noise starts to harmonize, and then all of a sudden, I’m enjoying it’s three region song. I know it has more to offer during dry down, buy I might already be asleep by then😀
Back to Dao, a basket of living fruit, with oud in a seriousness mode. Aroha Kush, leaning towards resin and wood. Czar Ceylon, I’m at the phase of the marriage between New Guinea and Wall Patta, it reminds me of Sultan Salman.

But that’s it for now:Sleep:
